"Perfection still eludes us after 41 years! I would like to personally apologize for the experience you had trying to get a price on repairing your swimming pool. Our masonry estimator injured his back and we should have kept you in the loop regarding the timeframe in which we expected to send a proposal. Please call my cell phone at 678-414-5656 and I will personally come visit you and provide an estimate. Thank you, Matt Miller President Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc."
"Thank you for such a great review! We are glad that you selected our company and appreciate the kind words you said about our company. The pictures that you attached are breathtaking! This pool and spa will create years of memories for your and your family. Welcome to the Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. Family! Thank you, Matt Miller President Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc."
"Thank you for your repeat business and for such a nice review. I have known Chuck for my entire life and would not have anyone else do electrical on my pool! I still LOVE showing your swimming pool photos to potential clients! Thank you again! Matt Miller President Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc."
"We sincerely apologize we missed this appointment. This NEVER happens with our schedule. We had some technical difficulties with our schedule and the appointment was showing as "canceled" on Jon's phone calendar although we confirmed the appointment the Thursday before. We did contact this customer and offer to reschedule and apologize profusely for this mistake."
The quality of the workmanship was as good as could be with no shortcuts or skimping at all. All of the staff at Hilltop from Jessica, Shane, Matt and even Brian the owner, were engaged and seemed to have only our satisfaction in mind.
Hilltop is NOT the cheapest pool contractor in our market, but we weren't looking for a low value installation of something as complex and as a swimming pool. The quality of the workmanship and materials were outstanding.
I had a pretty good idea of the features I wanted in my future pool and spa but was not sure what my costs would be.
Matt had some great suggestions as well considering I withheld my budget number from him I felt he was considerate of costs even though that was not my intial concern. Matt explained we could look at what I would like then reduce my cost in areas that were not of vital importance to me if his suggestions put us over budget.
Although I did not choose to go with Hilltop I feel they should be given a chance to earn your business based on my interactions with their company. The reason I chose another pool builder was very heavily influenced by 2 other friends strong reccomendations. If they had not worked with the company I ultimatley chose Hilltop would probably have been my choice.
We wish things were explained to us better with diagrams/images
When you buy a TV you get full instructions on how to care for the TV and troubleshooting. When you buy a pool for 50,000 shouldn't you get full instructions in writing?
We wish you received images and someone to sit with us and explain different options with a clear, readable contract.
"Dear valued customer, Thank you for your feedback and for being a valued Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. customer. We strive to have the best customer service in the industry and we apologize if we have not met our goal or fulfilled our Mission Statement. Our Mission Statement has governed our operation since 1976. Our Mission Statement is as follows: "To have a positive impact on all the people who come in contact with our company by providing the finest products, attentive service, and an attitude on honesty, integrity, and appreciation for their interest and business." This particular swimming pool was designed and sold over the internet because our customer was living out of state at the time. We apologize if the size of our contract terms and conditions page was small. We are always pleased to send a larger copies and willing to go over each and every line of the contract, if requested. Our swimming pool contract contains a great deal of pertinent information regarding the swimming pool installation, drainage, irrigation, plus the inherent and often unexpected risks which may occur during a swimming pool installation. It also states exactly what we will do as part of our scope of work and what areas are out of our expertise. We suggest that a professional landscaper be used to perform the final grading, install drainage lines and complete the final drainage, repair/replace/install the irrigation, install outdoor lighting, install plants, ground cover, etc. We can recommend a great landscaper. Due to the slope in this yard, we built a stacked rock raised bond beam wall. Raised bond beam walls are useful and cost effective when dealing with a slope in the yard. The only time that the back of a raised bond beam wall is finished with stacked rock is when the back of the wall is exposed and constructed in a flat yard for aesthetic reasons only. Unfortunately, this was not the case in this customer’s yard. We have never installed stacked rock finish on the back of a raised beam wall where the back of the wall is buried in dirt. The area behind a raised bond beam wall is left at its original height or higher, and the only area where the back of the raised bond beam wall would be visible is where the wall slopes and the dirt sloped back down to the swimming pool level. These wall termination areas and the rebar bonding grid (which is required and inspected) are always easily hidden with the landscaping. We suggest that our customers visit our showroom to pick out their materials and look at pictures. We can also provide other swimming pools for our customers to look at, send pictures through email, or recommend each item. If our assistance was not adequate, we apologize. At the end of each project, we provide “pool school” for our customers. This service is provided by our Certified Pool Operator/Project Manager. We emphasize the importance of this meeting with our customers because we show you how to operate your swimming pool. We also suggest that each member of the family whom will be maintaining the swimming pool to be present. The “pool school” is vital because each swimming pool that we build is different and has its own specific operating instructions. We welcome our customers to call our C.P.O or our full-time office staff with any pool operation questions. Lastly, we thank you very much for providing photos of your swimming pool. As professionals seeing thousands of pool installations, we would like to say your pool looks stunning! Thank you again for your feedback and for being a valued Hilltop customer!"
"We would like to thank this past potential customer for contacting Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. in regards to a new swimming pool installation. We appreciate all of the swimming pool installation opportunities provided to our company. This homeowner contacted our company on October 4th, 2012 to have us do a pool design and estimate. An appointment was set for Wednesday October 10th, 2012 at 4:30 PM. An email confirmation was sent and the appointment was also confirmed by our office staff the day prior, on October 9th, 2012. While standing in the backyard, the homeowner told our representative that a surveyor was coming out soon and that this survey was recommended by the county where they live. This was due to easements and/or setback issues which needed to be addressed before acquiring a swimming pool permit. The owner also mentioned that they were leaning towards using another company whom had helped them after they met unexpectedly at the county permitting office. Easement and/or setback locations are vital for us to provide an accurate design that meets the customer’s desires and the criteria of the permitting jurisdiction. We immediately suggested setting another appointment after the setbacks and/or easements were located via the new survey. We would have completed the design and pricing on the second appointment. Our office staff called the customer on Monday October 15th, 2012 to set a second appointment and the customer notified our staff member that they had already contracted with the aforementioned company. We are surprised by this review as we were not given any opportunity to perform an accurate design and proposal. This is even after explaining the scenario to the customer and receiving what we considered an agreement from the customer to meet after the setbacks and/or easements were located via the survey. Our Mission Statement has governed our operation since 1976. That mission statement is as follows: "To have a positive impact on all the people who come in contact with our company by providing the finest products, attentive service, and an attitude on honesty, integrity, and appreciation." We are always sorry if we did not honor our Mission Statement. We respectfully submit however, that we did not fail to fulfill our Mission Statement and that this review lacks merit based on the facts."
Living in Alpharetta, the process of getting all necessary permissions was somewhat of a nightmare. Nevertheless, Hilltop always stayed on top of it, kept us up to date and was always responsive to our questions. Once the permissions were granted it took them just three weeks to finish the project and the result is beautiful. Thanks especially to Jessica, Larry, Shane and Kelly for their friendly support and great workmanship.
If you want a pool, go with Hilltop. :o)
"Member, thank you for the review! We enjoyed working with you from start to finish! You are in one of the most challenging jurisdictions in Georgia, so we appreciate your patience and understanding through the permitting process. We also do our best to be competitive with pricing. Thanks agan for being a valued Hilltop customer!"
"Member, Thank you for your kind words. We are very involved in customer service and try our best to make our customers happy. This aspect of our business is very important to us. We are excited to be working with you guys and look forward to a wonderful project!"
The only reason we did not go with them was because we knew that they were so big that it left us feeling uneasy about who would manage the project. The owners and Matt don't really get to the jobsites was our understanding and so we went with a company where the owner was more involved in each stage of the building process. It was a tough decision because we thought Hilltop was a great company and had confidence they'd build us a beautiful pool.
"Thank you for the kind review...even though you did not select our company! We are not "too big" and the Owner (Brian Miller), Matt Miller, or our long tenured Project Manager , Shane Bailey, are ALWAYS on site for major phases. I would surmise that this issue ( no site visits) may have been a sales ploy used by a competitor ..and one that cannot have merit as substantiated by Kudzu and other on-line reviews. If this were a legitimate issue with Hilltop Pools, this has never been mentioned in any forum...and we know there are no secrets with the internet! We hope the construction quality and service met your expectations. Thank you again for your gracious review. Sincerely, The Hilltop Family."
"Thank you very much for choosing Hilltop Pools, for the photos, and for your kind review. We also appreciate your kind comments about our long tenured project manager, Shane Bailey. Our business model depends on internet reviews, and you are now a part of our "Hilltop Family" . Thanks again....."
