CEL Cutting Edge Landscape

Tim and company exceeded my expectations. I had recently cut down a number of cypress trees in my backyard and once they were down there was only a muddy mess left. Tim are out and walked the space with me. I told him some thoughts about making a flowery space with a bird bath as the central piece. He suggested a butterfly garden leveraging natural boulders rather than timbers to level off the area. When his team finished the work, I could barely believe my eyes. What was once an unusable eyesore was now my favorite part of the property. His team was fast, polite and meticulous. Nothing looked hastily done or our of place. This is the 2nd time I had used CEL and I will certainly use them again for my next landscaping project!

From the design to the installation it was an incredibly smooth experience. It was a pleasure to work with Tim. He even went the extra step in hiring a pressure washer to come back to the house to clean the driveway and patio. This extra touch was the cherry on top. While you might find another company will slightly lower costs, I will continue to use Tim and the team at CEL for all future projects due to their professionalism, dependability, quality of work and responsiveness. You get what you pay for with CEL.

Tim came with ideas. He is not only a landscaper but a true architect. He but gave use multiple ideas and gave us many revised quotes and solutions on how to fix water run-off, ways to make our patio more useful and amazingly beautiful ideas on how to soften our retaining wall with plants. I could not have imagined that my backyard would be a beautiful place that not only solved our water run off problems but looks like a true designer was present with an overall vision. He was always courteous, on-time, flexible and patient as I reworked our budget and wanted to understand all our options. I would highly recommend him and look forward to working with him again.

I really had a great experience with Cutting Edge Landscaping. Getting a reputable landscaping company to show up for an estimate, or even provide an estimate after their visit, was a challenge. However Tim with CEL showed up as scheduled, gave me a fair price, and began work immediately once I was ready. He was professional and responsive, and his entire team was great. He addressed subsequent questions and concerns as well. I now have a beautiful Zoysia lawn, landscaping and lighting around my pool, which finished my backyard project. Highly recommended!

I went through a three bid process, and included CEL becasue they had landscaped my previous house. Professional from design, to design review, through implementation (2 days, very fast.) Cleaned up during and after work, did not have to mention it! We are happy with the results and are considering a second phase of works this year.

1. These guys are awesome. From the beginning of the project, they really made an effort to communicate with us about everything that was taking place. They were professional and exceeded our expectations in every way. The retaining walls that they built look great and the landscaping compliments our yard and pool very well. They performed the work on time and did not surprise us with any hidden costs. 

My wife and I had a very difficult experience with the pool builder and were very anxious about hiring a landscaper. We are beyond pleased that we chose Cutting Edge Landscape.

Just an update on the project that is likely to be helpful for others that decide to use CELandscape. As mentioned before, we had a great experience with Tim and his crew. They did a fantastic job and transformed our back yard. Unfortunately, following the installation we had several bushes die that were on our property prior to the landscaping renovation. We let Tim know that we had lost several plants as we did not want further plants to die. While he said that he would come out to inspect and provide recommendations, he neglected to ever visit our property. Subsequently our sod that was installed has now appeared to have died as well. Once again, we contacted Tim for  help. Unfortunately, he has not been responsive to this either. We consulted arbor-nomics and they think that we likely have a fungus and have a 50/50 shot of recovery next spring with treatment. This was relayed to Tim who dismissed it.  

Anyway, moral of the story is that Tim and his crew did a great job and communicated well during the project. Once the project was complete and the invoice was settled, however, they seemed to lack concern for the longevity of the landscaping or for maintaining a positive relationship to ensure future business. 

Tim and  his team are very professional and did an exceptional job re-landscaping our entire back yard. The job consisted of cleaning up the property, weeding, removal of small trees and plants, grading, site prep for sod, installing mulch and pine straw, transalpine plants and bushes to new locations and adding new trees and boulders.
We are thrilled with our new backyard. The design is great and meets our needs.
My husband and I both agree that Tim was very easy to work with, he did what he said he would do, the price was fair, and his guys that came out to work for two days were hardworking and left our property very clean & tidy.
We highly recommend Tim & CEL. I am certain we will work Tim again in the future.

I can honestly say that all of the work done was beyond our expectations.

Tim even matched the colors in the new patio extension perfectly to our old patio. This was something others said they would TRY to do but thought it would be very hard.

He also moved two VERY large rocks around on top of the hill to make a cave effect for the waterfall to be coming out of.  This was something others said either they couldn't do or they might try to do. He said he could do it and he did. The waterfall was more than we could ever imagine.  Family and neighbors were very impressed.

When the stone walls were put in they adjusted them to exactly what we wanted. Also, the patio is just amazing and matches perfectly.

In addition to ending up with all the things we wanted the experience of working with Tim and his crew was very pleasant. They were all very thoughtful and tried to please us with everything they did. Their work ethic was impressive.

I am a pretty hard person to please but I must say this was the best experience with a project I have ever had.

The clean up was great as well.

update 1/6/16--I did not want to have to update this review but it would not be fair if I did not.  We had a couple of outstanding warranty items to be addressed as well as some additional drainage work we wanted CEL to complete in 2015 and Tim said they would not be able to assist due to their current volume of work.  While I understood him not being able to take on a new project, I was disappointed they could not fulfill the warranty work agreed upon.  These guys did good work but Tim also did not live up to his word regarding a drain pipe correction/ improvement we had agreed upon.  My suggestion, if you are considering using them is to make sure you get everything in writing...from the warranty coverage down to a detailed scope of the work.  Landscaping appears to be a tough biz so these companies do have to make tough decisions but, unfortunately, it can leave some customers out in the cold....and it has left us with a very very soggy back yard.

From our first meeting in Nov'13 until completion of the project in June'14, Tim and his team did an incredible job planning and executing the project.  Tim was very attuned to our timeline and needs and was very responsive along every step of the process.  He was great at managing our expectations and was great at communicating pricing.  Tim was very patient with us as we made our choices on plants and elements of the project.  When it came time to execute the actual job, his team was very efficient and was able to finish in less than a week.  We could not be happier with the quality of the work.  The sod rooted quickly and thrived during the summer and our shrubs and trees have all taken nicely too.  We have a beautiful back yard for the kids to play and roll around on and we have wonderful curb appeal in front.   Like many landscape projects, we did have a few plants/ shrubs that did not take but Tim replaced these promptly.  The one and only hiccup of our project was navigating the city's permitting process which caused a short delay but this was in no way a poor reflection on the quality of service and work CEL performs.  I would use them again in a heartbeat.

It is such a pleasure to be able to write a review and have absolutely no reservations about the quality of the work performed by a company. We can thank Cutting Edge Landscape Contractors, Inc for this opportunity. We contacted CEL for two projects. One involved replacing a hundred foot retaining wall that separates our yard from a steep incline into the neighboring wooded area. The other was for stonework to be done around the existing front steps of our home. Both projects involved challenges. The owner, Tim Bland, spent a great deal of time listening to our expectations and explaining exactly what would need to be done. He was on site for much of the work. When he wasn't there, the crew was supervised by Paul Kraft who also had a full understanding of the projects. Both Tim and Paul consistently worked with us to keep us informed and be sure we were pleased with the work. Mr. Bland even volunteered before leaving that we should not hesitate to call if we should have any concerns or adjustments we wanted after living with the work for a period of time. If we have any projects in the future that involve their services, a call to them will be the first one we make.

Paving and landscaping done promptly and well, but fence and stonework was very slow.  Failed to finish punch list or come back as promised after doing the big work.  Permitting in the City of Atlanta is a challenge so that part of the work was painful for all of us. 

Had to get someone else to do added work requested.

I would highly recommend CEL.  Owner Tim Bland is very professional and his team did an outstanding job.  In about only a month including the rain days, my yard was completely transformed. Tim was available during the entire project to answer any questions that occurred and made sure that I was total satisfied with the outcome.. My family and I will enjoy the new landscaping performed by CEL.

At first things went well, but over time we learned that they had hit a sprinkler line, which was leaking.  They continued to work with me for about 8 month through some difficult weather to correct the problem and fix it.  They showed alot of responsibility and integrity, and I give them kudos for that.

I contracted with CEL to remove my existing concrete and add pavers, pergola and a fire pit.  Tim was extremely responsive to me.  The work was done in record time.  I did not have any problems that were not resolved immediately.  Tim gave me advice on the design, the paver colors and enhancements.

Everything went great!  We had to have Tim come back to adjust the sprinklers so that all the new plantings were getting enough water and he had it taken care of within a week.  Overall, we have been very pleased with everything that Tim has done for us!

Tim was great throughout the process.  He was responsive to all our concerns and quick to have someone at the house to do the work.  We plan to add more landscape lighting and probably also do more landscaping this year.  We will definitely be calling Tim to help us again.

Our yard underwent a complete and total transformation from a dull "builders" landscape with a backyard halfway covered in pine mulch from a former forest area to the beautiful and enjoyable yard we have today. CEL took the time to listen to our ideas and plan a yard that meets or exceeds all of our expectations. The owner, Tim Bland, was very responsive with questions and concerns throughout the entire project from initial quote to small fixes. He was very informative and knowledgable on types of plants to use which was very helpful since we had recently moved from the north. Our project was fairly big and included front, sides and back. In the front we removed 2 young, but messy, trees and reshaped the landscape to give the house more curb appeal. Most of the builders landscape was removed or transplanted to make way for a colorful and low maintenance new landscape. The backyard was our main concern when we started our project. Half of the yard was covered with pine mulch and weeds from a forested area that the previous owners had removed. That area was graded to make a better play area for our children and sod was added along with landscaping along our entire back fence. Our project also included adding 2 zones of irrigation for our new back landscape and sod. Features of our landscape include colorful low maintenance plants, large boulders, a fence to conceal or trash bins and beautiful stone pavers to extend our current patio area. Many of our neighbors have complimented us our our new yard and are considering using CEL themselves. We couldn't be happier with our yard and won't hesitate to call Tim Bland at CEL if we want to add to our improvements in the future.

We had a good experience so far. We only part way through the project. We did it broke it up and say this. That is great.  The feature is the bigger stuff is going to happen in the spring, so, we have not got into a place where I do not like, ready to say we are done, kind of thing, something like that. Probably would it be come to count them more unless we get to this next phase but so far, it has been good. It was mid-December. We had a $500 plan put together, landscape plan, and then we have a $2500 for some trees installed and minor controls and other replacement but had no seal about the trees. I am not going to say that they are not cheap, for sure, but I would say, a call over to be on price.

It went great. He arrive at 7am and started working on our islands in the neighborhood and about 1 hr later his crew arrived and with plants and trees to plant and they got the job done. I was impressed with the job they did and the fee they charged. They worked with to get the job done especially because our HOA had low funds.
