Small jobs welcome

"Great! The plumber, Chris, from Auger's Plumbing called and asked if he could arrive early. He noticed the last faucet was not installed properly. He removed the old faucet and installed the new hardware and new faucet. It looks great and the installation was neatly done. We would definitely recommend Auger's Plumbing and we would use them again."

"Ultimately I was very happy with the job. It looks great. As far as I could tell, the guys who did the work knew what they were doing and did a good job with the installation. My only issues were administrative and paperwork. It looked to me like there was a complete lack of communication between the salesman, the office staff and the warehouse and installer coordinator. I told the salesman (verbal and email) what color tub I wanted. Somehow we ended up with the wrong one. I could not get them to give me an itemized list of every part number and associated price which is what warranty paperwork requires. It took 3 tries before I got the part number list but I never did get prices or invoice. I hope I never have to file a warranty claim. As for scheduling, Bill was up front about the fact that their tile guy had a backlog. So we scheduled a date about 6 weeks out in order to make sure the entire job could be completed. Then the day when they were supposed to do the tearout I get a call that they weren't showing up because 2 of their guys called in sick. The next day they told me that they weren't showing up because the Kohler factory had a fire so they had a delay on getting the tub. I could have believed that but...the Kohler factory fire was in January and our installation was in April. And that's when I discovered they'd ordered the wrong color. Apparently no one told the guy doing the ordering the correct color. They also ordered the wrong shower head which they had to correct after I noticed it was incorrect - after installation. In conclusion, I think they did a good job and I'm happy with the results but....I'd recommend checking and double checking everything multiple times to ensure that what you really wanted done is what actually happens. As for the tile work (which was an extra cost), they subbed that out to Rick Beyer of Fieldstone Homes. He did a very nice job on all the tile work. I had no issues with his work."

"This company was so polite, courteous and conscientious in their work. I would re-hire them in a heartbeat. I highly recommend them. I am learning that I find more conscientious people with Home Advisor than other companies. I immediately went to Home Advisor before looking elsewhere when trying to find someone to put in my kitchen sink. I received a phone call back from them 5 minutes after I had requested a call. Thank you Roman Plumbing."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

The cost to fix a leaky pipe ranges depending on location—the easier the pipe is to access, the less expensive the repair will be. Because a leaky pipe under the sink is typically an exposed pipe, this is one of the least expensive repairs for a plumber to do, often costing between $150 to $300 to fix, on average.

A handyperson with basic plumbing experience can install a bathroom faucet, like the kind of skills you’d need to replace a P-trap or swap out a showerhead. They may not have deep knowledge of local plumbing code, though. If your faucet installation requires work on the pipes behind the wall or under the floor, hire a licensed plumber with the necessary training and licensing.

If your kitchen is flooding, first turn off the water supply and electricity before entering the room. Next, focus on immediate flood control by cleaning up any standing water with a sump pump or wet-dry vacuum to prevent long-term water damage to your home. Open your windows and run any dehumidifiers you have handy. Finally, call a professional plumber to help find the source of the flood and repair it.

The main cause of bathroom leaks is seals and connectors that loosen or deteriorate over time, causing leaks to develop. It's important to stay on top of your bathroom materials, as toilets, showers, and sinks all have different lifespans. Toilets and faucets last between 10 and 15 years on average with regular maintenance, but different parts may have shorter lifespans than others.

Porcelain and enamel sinks have very similar appearances, but they aren’t the same. Porcelain is a ceramic made from natural clay, while enamel is a strong powder that’s glazed over a metal sink. Use a magnet to determine whether you have an enamel or porcelain sink. If a strong magnet sticks to the sink, it’s likely enamel. If it doesn’t, you probably have a porcelain sink. You can also use the model number on the sink (often found on the underside of the bowl) or information from the manufacturer to determine the material.
