"Time and time again, Timur goes above and beyond the call of duty. His work is OUTSTANDING and I rarely say that about anyone. As long as he is in business, I’ll continue to hire him. I would advise my fellow Angie’s list members to do the same. That is if you need drywall work done in Northern Virginia. Just sustained superior performance !"

"Nothing but great things to say about their work. They have done work in two of our houses and always extremely professional and great results. On our first house Rocael completely remodeled our 1950's bathroom and did great tile work. On our second house he added a small deck for our grill which looks great and a fence/gate. He also remodeled our entire basement. Installing new drywall and insulation, new exterior/interior doors, new bathroom remodel (with excellent tile work) - Did duct work, and demo entire existing plaster ceiling and replaced it with drywall and added can lights. Created a nook under the stairs with great wood work, and also a great paint job throughout. Rocael also will make sure you are happy with the work he's done, and would make any adjustments if needed."

"I had a great experience with Perfect Touch. They painted my living room, hallway & bathroom in addition to some drywall & framing work. I couldn't be happier with the results. They did an amazing job on the walls not to mention going above and beyond to get the job done. Juan & his team are great to work with and I'll definitely use them again."

"I hire D. Fuentes to paint and patch a water leak in my bathroom ceiling. The job was very professional..so I decided to hire them to patch some dry wall and hang a tv bracket . They were very concerned about making sure everything was to my satisfaction. They didnâ t rush or cut corners. They went over and above repairing hole in my drywall. I was really surprised with how professional and meticulous they are. I am definitely going to hire them again in the near future. If you need drywall repair, painting or anything else, just give them a call."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

Drywall is safe to cut as long as you follow proper procedures, such as wearing personal protective equipment and using the right tools to score and cut the drywall. When cutting new drywall, it can release dust with silica and other compounds that could pose health risks. Leave cutting drywall to the pros, or wear a high-quality respiratory mask, goggles, and other PPE when handling drywall.

Plaster ceilings can sag for several reasons. In some cases, the plaster and other building materials shift and come apart over time, which is why you’ll commonly find drooping plaster ceilings in older homes. Improper installation, foot traffic, and water damage—often from a leaky roof or a broken pipe—can also cause plaster ceilings to sag.

Brick and stucco are a lot more different. You must use picture hanging clips designed for brick walls, or use a plaster rail system with adjustable hooks. Any other type of hanging hardware will cause damage to the bricks behind. You won’t be able to really use nails, either, because they’re not strong enough to go into the bricks.

Options include bricks, natural stone, and concrete blocks. Choose based on durability, aesthetics, and budget.
