Follow up: I made my decision and signed the contract. Best decision I could have made. They were thousands of dollars less for the exact same equipment than 3 other companies I got estimates from. When challenged none of the other companies could revise their estimate to even come close. Southland is a Mitsubishi diamond dealer so I got full Mitsubishi warranties plus 1 year from Southland of parts and service. The day the installers arrived, on time, it was raining. Jamie and Ricardo used the utmost care to protect my home. They covered the floors, moved and covered the furniture and made sure before they left that I fully understood how to use the remote and operate the equipment. "Steven was the technician that initially came and inspected my unit. Turns out the previous owner had a dog that constantly urinated on the AC unit and the damage worsened over time. I was a bit skeptical at first but after research found that this is a very common occurrence. Steve was very detailed about my options and after a few estimates from other companies I went with his company NRG. I purchased a new Goodman AC unit and a new condenser for a bit under $4900. The installers were 3 different techs who were professional, tidy and thorough. Once the new unit was installed it was 80x's more quiet than my previous unit and the house cooled down beautifully. "I did not use them because what they said was - the $45 - they came out and they wanted to charge me I think it was close to $500 to simply install a garbage disposal that I already had purchased.? The estimate was extremely high and I said no thank you.? I'm not happy with them at all.? Their estimate was fine; it was just out of sight.? The price was outrageous."

"OUTSTANDING! With just 2 days notice, Joe sent one of his outstanding staff members (Mikey) to fix the hole I made in our ceiling. The repair job was done so well that it's almost impossible to see where I almost fell through from the attic. During Mikey's ceiling repair visit I asked Joe to give us a quote for the outside valve replacement and plumbing box installation project. The price was so good (almost half the amount quoted by another company) we asked them to handle this as well. This project was not only handled quickly, Mikey upgraded the setup for better access. He even colored the new concrete to match our existing patio area where the valve box needed to be installed."

They ran new refrigerant lines in the attic on one of the hottest days of the year, then installed a new Trane high efficiency heat pump system and Trane thermostat. I thought the job would take two days but by 5 p.m. the work was done and we had cool air.
