"This was a difficult project, owing to the no-cripple-wall construction of my house and the ridiculously tight crawl space - less than a foot in critical spots - plus the maze of beams and ducts. I called six or seven plumbers to come out and bid the work and two of them ran screaming (well, not really, they just told me they needed to work up an estimate 'back at the office' and never called back). One guy swore I'd have to rip out a wall AND the floor to get to the pipe. Mr. Rooter didn't propose anything so dramatic. They just said they'd excavate as needed to make room to move around. So that's what they did. They billed it as a two-day job. They showed up on time, and the work was wrapped up by the third hour of the second day. Because that, I was concerned this job had been overbilled. Their bid had been astronomical, but it was still lower than everyone's except the guy with the lapsed bond. Mr. Rooter had been willing to negotiate and I knocked about $650 off their initial bid. They took another $200 off at the back end because of my concern with overbilling. They didn't have to do that since they had a signed contract in hand, but they were willing to take care of a customer. Thumbs up for that. The work looks solid, as far as this layman can tell. Everything drains as it should and none of the joints leak."

"Original pipe slope is minimal so build up and back up has been an issue and it’s very time consuming to clear. Jenri was here on time and immediately went to work. He was exceptionally polite and despite the nature of plumbing kept work space very clean. Clean and put everything back when he was done. VERY HAPPY WITH WORK AND EXTREMELY GRATEFUL!"

"I was really impressed with Phill's Pluming, from the time I requested a quote through the final installation. Phill responded to my request quickly, and researched the facuet I was looking for. Within the same day I had a quote. He ordered the facuet and it was installed with a couple of days. His employee, Joe was on time, wore a face mask, covered his shoes, made sure my floor was covered, and completed the installation quickly. I was looking for a go to Plummer that I could trust and rely on, and I definitely found one. - Lml, Irvine"

"

I chose Del Mar from their good reviews on Angie's List and that he did have experience with turf removal for what I needed - I was completely happy with this choice.

Conrad came out within a couple days of my inquiry and provided a rough quote on site, and then a written quote within a couple days. He provided me with options to fit my budget.  And as he promised, he was able to begin the job within 3 weeks.

They came out on May 12th ? Monday ? with a crew of hard workers and also an excellent younger field boss (Conrad?s nephew Able). Conrad was here just about every day checking up. They were here the entire week everyday thru Friday.

The work they did was outstanding. The crew took extra care in getting the landscape ties to curve around my driveway. They took out enough turf so that there was at least 3 inches of gravel or river rocks. They tore out my existing dilapidated raised flower bed and stumps and then primed and painted the house in that area.

Each flagstone was meticulously place and leveled to my design. They welcomed me for all my input including the placement of each flagstone and the layout in the front yard that looks like a dry golden river bed. I purchased the plants separately, but they picked them up from the nursery. Total cost for the plants was an addition $270 for me. The crew salvaged existing plants I had around the back and replanted them to the front area. Each plant receives its own little drip system and is completely maintenance free. He provided a 2-station system that runs all the way to a back patio area. They installed my solar lights I purchased separately from Costco for the finishing touches.

The back side area with flagstones and river rock is like a sanctuary now, in fact, my entire yard is so beautiful I can not believe how great it looks. Every person passing by has given great compliments. I?ll post pics if possible.

Conrad and his crew should be very proud, as I am of their work and the final outcome.

"This is an all encompassing business, handling foundation engineering, plans, permits and constuction.  That was a big help because I didn't want to pull together the plans and permit for the foundation.    Be careful if you're a do-it-yourselfer, though.  Get your plumber in to plan the pipes before you pour.  They did good, clean job.  Rejean bent over backwards to make sure that I was pleased.  They even came back after they were all done and did some more work, gratis, to help me out.  Thank you guys."

"Just had Paul come by and install a new Rain Bird wifi sprinkler timer. What a joy to meet him. Old school nice and installed it without a problem. Big shout out to Paul from Bellflower Landscaping. Note: I had called at least three other Landscape people, and all three of them said that they could not install a WIFI sprinkler timer. Paul did it without a problem!"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

On average, a plumber will take 30 minutes to two hours to clear a clogged drain. If the clog is located close to the drain or an access point and isn’t severe, the project will take about half an hour. If the clog is deep within your plumbing system or is a severe blockage, it can take two or more hours to remove the clog. For this reason, main line clogs tend to take longer, usually between two and three hours.

When you put baking soda and vinegar down the drain, they chemically react and help break down clogs. It’s not going to work for every type of clog, however. For example, it’s not the best way to get rid of grease buildup. For grease, you should try boiling water and white vinegar instead.

A small amount of diluted bleach is okay to pour down a garbage disposal. As part of your weekly garbage disposal maintenance, use 1 teaspoon of bleach with your concoction of ice cubes and lemon peels. Turn on the disposal and run the water until the blades chop up the ice cubes.

Any more bleach in your disposal can harden oils and greases in your drain, which can cause problems. Always wear gloves when working with bleach, and know that you really don’t need bleach at all—vinegar, baking soda, salt, and ice should do the trick.

Clogs in a sprinkler valve can be caused by various factors, including debris in the water supply, sediment buildup inside the valve, or damage to the diaphragm. Debris and sediment can accumulate over time, obstructing the valve's passages and impeding water flow. Damaged diaphragms may develop tears or holes, leading to blockages and affecting the valve's ability to open or close properly. Regular maintenance and cleaning can help prevent and address these issues, ensuring your sprinkler valve operates smoothly.

Flushing the toilet only to realize it’s clogged can cause anxiety. To avoid a clogged toilet, use less toilet paper. If you notice that the toilet is flushing and refilling slower than usual, you can use a plunger to clear clogs in the S-trap. If that doesn’t work, call a plumber to check your system and possibly clear the drain lines.
