"Art was extremely helpful and accommodating at every step of the project, from bidding through scheduling and even some additional work we needed a few weeks later. The team worked efficiently, doing a new main line install (going under our sidewalk and concrete without any demolition), re-piped the horizontal pipes under the house with copper (they were 100 year old galvanized), and setup a new shut off and regulator outside. They did everything in a day and cleaned up nicely. When we had other contractors working on our foundation 2 weeks later, they bent over backwards to get plumbers out the next day to make some fixes to drain pipe and at an excellent price. I got quotes from three companies and Repipe Pro was the most competitive and also great responsiveness from Art and his wife Thelma who run the business. To anyone looking for a repipe of a home or new main line or having drain work done, I definitely recommend contacting Art at Repipe Pro."

"Our experience with the Drain Guys went very well. As with all service providers, the previous jobs they're scheduled for sometimes delays their next job which is what happened with us. But, once Eddie was on the job, he took care of the problem and us very well.

"Very professional. Explained everything carefully and didn’t mind answering our questions again and again. Jake installed a tankless water heater in a matter of hours. Left the area looking better than he found it. Reliable plumber and reasonable/affordable pricing. Will definitely recommend Jake to all my friends."

"All four of our restrooms were clogged late evening July 4th. We  called several plumbers, none were available and two  plumbers failed to show up after confirming.  We decided to try  1800Plumbing, they were able to resolve our plumbing issues in an affordable and timely manner considering the circumstances.  Before arriving the plumber gave us updates on his status. On arrival, he was extremely courteous and  knowledgeable. He quickly assested the plumbing issues and unclogged the homes sewer line. After, he used his camera in the sewer line and  noticed the pipe was half clay and filled with roots. Which was suprising to us since we replaced the line about 5 years ago by a differet plumber. Overall we were extreamly happy with the service and quality of work provided by 1800Plumbing. Highly recommeded."

"I required major work in two bathrooms that consisted of demo to concrete for repairs in blockage to sewer lines and complete replacement of pipes underneath my house which is on a raised foundation. Louie explained very thoroughly what was required and also sent me before and after pictures. The work was done timely and I was very happy with the entire process. Very friendly and professional crew and I would highly recommend! I will be calling on them again for sure if needed in the future."

"Jay was awesome! We had hired a different plumbing company (Rooter Man Plumbers), and they scammed us out of $1,875.00 by hydro jetting to clear the drain. The drain did not clear and they wanted to come back to replace the sewer line for an additional $2,375.00. I got onto Angie's List and found Jays Independent Drain Cleaning. He arrived on time and was so respectful. He explained what he was going to do after asking us a few questions on what the previous plumber had done. He was very polite and very knowledgeable. He cleared the line and then ran a camera down to inspect everything. The drainage worked perfectly. We only had to pay $375 for everything. I would definitely use Jay again. Thank you Jay!"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.

Your dishwasher drain hose may have a clog if your dishwasher is full of water, your dishes aren’t getting cleaned, or water takes a long time to discharge into the garbage disposal.

If your drain doesn’t have metal crosshairs or crossbars, you should use a tub drain extractor. These tools create a grip on the drain so you can turn it using a 1/2-inch ratchet drive, drain key, or wrench. Your drain may not have crosshairs if it's old and broken.

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.
