"This was a difficult project, owing to the no-cripple-wall construction of my house and the ridiculously tight crawl space - less than a foot in critical spots - plus the maze of beams and ducts. One guy swore I'd have to rip out a wall AND the floor to get to the pipe. Mr. Rooter didn't propose anything so dramatic. They just said they'd excavate as needed to make room to move around. So that's what they did. They billed it as a two-day job. They showed up on time, and the work was wrapped up by the third hour of the second day. Because that, I was concerned this job had been overbilled. Their bid had been astronomical, but it was still lower than everyone's except the guy with the lapsed bond. Mr. Rooter had been willing to negotiate and I knocked about $650 off their initial bid. They took another $200 off at the back end because of my concern with overbilling. They didn't have to do that since they had a signed contract in hand, but they were willing to take care of a customer. Thumbs up for that. The work looks solid, as far as this layman can tell. Everything drains as it should and none of the joints leak."

We said we wanted a low-maintenance, drought-resistant front yard, and he came up with a detailed, clearly labelled design that included a good selection of succulents and low-water plants including Mexican bird of paradise, yucca, agave, pink muhly grass, and aloe striatta. The ground consists of decomposed granite and decorative rock that provides a warm, golden brown effect, and to top it off, there's two segments low, horizontal slatt fence, painted white to go with the house, which makes a bit of privacy without sacrificing the feeling of openness. The drip-system they installed makes everything truly low maintenance. Nick's crew worked diligently and obviously took pride in everything they did, and everything went well with no problems or delays. Highly recommended. We can't wait to see the plants grow and bloom."
