"Cheap is not good and Good is not cheap.... With that being said I went with Beutler which was slightly higher than the lowest estimate I got to replace a 29 year old water heater that just started leaking. Randy was fast and courteous to respond and sent out Juan who was very friendly, helpful, hard working, professional and he worked his tail off and got the job done in the time frame he said it would take. All in all I was without hot water for less than 24 hours"

"I received a text message from Mr. Drain Corp. within minutes of submitting my online request on Angi around 5:30am on a Sunday morning - very quick. Their dispatcher was friendly and professional and called me to schedule an estimate less than 3 hours later — around 8:20am — and had a service window of noon-4pm for a technician to visit and give us an estimate. We ended up using a different provider who was able to arrive by 8:40am that same Sunday morning, but I was impressed by the quick customer service provided by Mr. Drain Corp. and will keep them in mind for future plumbing needs!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

A burst pipe can cause hundreds or even thousands of dollars in damage. It could flood your home, which can destroy many of your belongings. It could also ruin hardwood floors and carpeting, requiring you to replace your flooring. Finally, mold and mildew form very quickly after high levels of moisture have been introduced to a space; this is not only costly to remove but also bad for your health.

Whether a DIY fix is safe depends on your knowledge and experience in plumbing and appliance repair. If you have the necessary skills, follow safety precautions, and consult the user manual, it can certainly be done safely. However, if you're unsure or lack experience, you should consult a professional plumber, appliance technician, or sewer repair company near you to avoid potential accidents, further damage, or plumbing issues.

It takes hair about two years to dissolve on its own in the drain without the use of any tool or help. Fortunately, using a drain snake, plunger, or any of the actions mentioned above to dissolve the hair will help get rid of the clog in as little as 15 minutes.

Yes, you can use too much plumber’s tape. Adding more tape than necessary will make it difficult to make the pipe connection and has no added benefit. Only wrap the tape around a pipe thread three to six times, depending on the size of the pipe and the thickness of the tape.

Yes, shower water goes into the septic tank. Shower water is a type of greywater, and in fact, all water used in a home with a septic system—including water from sinks, toilets, the dishwasher, and the washing machine—drains into the tank. When shower water enters the tank, debris like soap and hair travels with it. The solid debris sinks to the bottom to become sludge, while soap residue joins the scum layer at the top. The remaining water is treated in the tank before moving to the drain field for further treatment and dispersal. It is important to avoid putting oil or harsh chemicals down any drain, as they can cause clogs or disrupt the beneficial bacteria required for proper wastewater management in the septic system.
