"We received a call back within 30 minutes of calling them! It was on a Saturday, and they came out early Sunday to give an estimate! They arrived on Monday morning and completed the job in a couple of hours! It was replacing a 30 plus year old sprinkler valve set up in our front yard. We had them come back a couple weeks later to replace the old valves in the back yard! Always courteous and professional! The area was left very clean and tidy when finished! We felt the cost of the jobs was very fair! Everything works beautifully now and appreciate the work. We would recommend them to anyone needing that type of service. Our first time using Angi and we will definitely keep them in mind for future jobs!"

"Larry was very professional and easy to work with. He is able to work with your ideas and provide his knowledge. We had him grade our front yard, which he was able to do in a day and between bad weather. We are very pleased with the results and happy with how flexible he was with our schedule. I would highly recommend Larry for any landscaping you are planning."

"We decided to remodel our outdated bathroom, and McCormick Home Builders was a fantastic choice. Khaled and the team delivered high-quality work within the timeline and our budget. Every detail, from the tile work to the lighting, was beautifully done. They communicated well throughout, keeping us informed at every step, and the end result was truly a spa-like bathroom we can enjoy daily. We’d love to work with them again!"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Lazy composting involves putting leaves, grass clippings, and plant trimmings in a corner of your yard and letting nature take its course. There is no turning, watering, or balancing green and brown materials. It’s a low-effort, long-term approach that can take up to one or two years to create finished compost. It is perfect for gardeners who don’t mind waiting and want a no-fuss way to repurpose organic waste.

It may not be worth it to rake every leaf in your yard, but it’s necessary to remove the majority of leaves to prevent them from smothering grass growth on your lawn. However, raking leaves isn’t your only option for leaf removal. You can remove leaves easily with a leaf blower or compost or mulch them with your lawn mower to repurpose them to help grow your garden or yard.

To prepare your lawn for core aeration, water it the day before you aerate. (Alternatively, you can wait until it rains and aerate the following day.) Aerating after watering or a rainy day will make the process easier since you can penetrate moist soil better than dry soil. You should also flag your sprinklers so that you don’t accidentally hit them while aerating. If you have a lot of thatch buildup in your yard, you might need to dethatch your lawn before aerating as well.

Strat decluttering for the holidays by removing trash and organizing items into different piles that you’ll keep, donate and toss out. Whatever you intend to keep, find a specific place for it, and if you buy something, get rid of an item that’s taking up space. Start small, go room-by-room, and don’t try to declutter all at once—doing so can get overwhelming.

Foxtail grass is not native to the United States, so it is considered an invasive plant. Giant foxtail originated in eastern Asia, Green foxtail is native to Europe, and Yellow foxtail is native to Eurasia. This grass variety is one of many common invasive plant species that you should keep out of your yard and garden beds as much as possible.
