My wife and I are architects and have repaired a few homes and did much of the work ourselves. but we were not going to tackle lifting the foundation nor leveling the sloping floors. the planning was tricky for us all due to COVID, but once we got going, we were completely satisfied with the work, the service, and the good humor of the Foundation Solutions team. Diego and Nathan were communicative, clean, hard working and had a fine attention to detail. And we had a lot of fun together. there are other foundation repair companies that are more 'slick' , but Foundation Solutions is the real thing. they know their work and do it well."

"Bait and switch. I obtained multiple quotes for my foundation. Dalinghaus Construction quoted me 19 piers to stabilize my home. I questioned why their competitors were quoting me over 30 piers; and they reassured me I was being over quoted by their competitors. Long story short, I went with Dalinghaus. During construction, a rep (David F) came by to drop off some tools and found that 19 piers would not be enough. They said I needed 14 more piers (totaling 33– same as their competitors). I’m stuck because I cannot leave my home half stabilized. No other reputable company would complete the job if another company started it. I was obligated to move forward with Dalinghaus. No one called to apologize for the misstep. They invoiced me and could care less how much this would affect my family. They proceeded to install14 more piers but left 14 large holes— they said backfilling was not part of the scope of work, while the original 19 were backfilled. Insanely strange why they think I wanted 14 large holes at my home. So this is where they gave me a “discount.” They backfilled the holes for free. Free? It should be included in the work. All in all, why do I have to pay for a mistake of this magnitude? I’ve tried to work it out with them peacefully but they have not provided me anything that would make this right. Only excuses why they should not compensate me. They have no integrity. They only care about their reputation at this point (they want my bbb review taken down). I would like to be compensated for the 14 additional piers that were missed from the original quote. 14 additional piers is a completely new job, not a “new work order.” They are the professional and should have done a more thorough assessment to provide me an accurate quote. Their competitors seemed to have done so but I was sadly duped by Dalinghaus. They baited me in and switched the price after the work started. $38k is a lot to lose. I have 2 small children and a home that needs to be completed. Ps. I’ve been waiting over 2 months for a resolution."

Stay away from KATZ DESIGN & BUILDERS in LOS ALAMITOS. I would give it a zero star if that was an option. Most dishonest company we have ever hired. Our kids’ house needed to have a fire pit filled in. KATZ sent an employee named VAL in person to discuss of the work that needed to be done. VAL wrote a contract which we agreed upon, of the amount of $13,000. Mid way through the project, VAL sounded very upset and told us that he must charge us $1,835 more if we want the job finished. Val then gave us a new invoice, a total of $14,835. We were 7 hrs away on a car trip. VAL actually asked us to leave him a positive 5* rating, after jacking the cost of the job up considerably. Furthermore, one worker brought while working at the site. We got back the next day, contacted the KATZ office and spoke to CHERYL who acted completely surprised that VAL has given us a contract with the extra charge. CHERYL indicated that she would talk to the PRESIDENT and VAL to straighten everything out. We then received a PDF file, written by the PRESIDENT and VAL , indicating that our kids’ house would have a MECHANIC’S LIEN placed on it we did not acquiesce and pay the additional amount. We are retirees but for nearly 30 yrs, we too had business where we never advertised and never had to. Business came to us by word of mouth and a sterling reputation. If we were to have run our business as dishonest as KATZ DESIGN & BUILDERS appeared to have been, we would have been out of business. We heartily do NOT RECOMMEND KATZ DESIGN & BUILDERS, AS THEY ARE THE MOST DISHONEST COMPANY."
