"Randy and his team were amazing. The Mexican tile floor in my enclosed patio needed to be restored. Randy took a look at the room and developed a solution that exceeded my expectations at a fair price. His team helped empty and return the furnishings in the room treating the items in the room with care and respect. I always knew the state of the project and the next steps. The floor looks better than when it was new. The next time I need a contractor I will call Randy. You should too."

Customers say: True professional

"Extremely well! This was my second time using Styles and Tiles and I am overly satisfied. I purchase some expensive glass tiles for my backsplash and Styles and Tiles was able to install it perfectly. My first encounter with Styles and Tiles was three years ago when they installed the tile for my master bathroom and fireplace in my bedroom. It was a huge job I was desperate because I had hired a previous tile installer that did a horrible job. Styles and Tiles was recommended to me and I will continue to use them as my tile installer."

"We hired Magic Tile to install a kitchen backsplash using very small mosaic tiles, and the result is absolutely beautiful. We took time choosing the grout color, and they were patient, supportive, and gave perfect advice. Truly professional- highly recommended."

"The team at DK tile did great work. They installed 13ft of stacked stone on my fireplace and retiled a half-wall in the kitchen. They were flexible, accommodating, clean, and quick. I'm really happy with the result. I will definitely use them again for upcoming projects."

"Jim was very professional and easy to speak with. My floor in a downstairs bathroom had a leak, and all the Wooden planks were destroyed. Jim installed a high quality of tile that I already had, and talked me through how the pattern would placed for a pleasing look, the color grout, etc. He and his associate did a beautiful job and I'm very pleased with the result I highly recommend his services for your home! "Miguel tackled a nasty job of removing two sets of bathroom faucets totally ruined by and stuck to the countertops with water deposits. The fragile tile was left intact, and he installed new fixtures. He appeared on time as agreed and was easy to work with. He is very experienced and reliable; saved us having to replace a tile countertop."

"Very pleased with our bathroom remodel! Demolition happened in one day, with careful cleanup when they were done. Installation then went forward with no delays, no waiting for materials or available crew. Excellent communications and supervision throughout the whole project. And the price was reasonable. Awesome experience and our new bathroom is fantastic! We would hire Superior Home Remodeling again for sure!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

It’s best to start with tiling the shower floor before moving on to the walls for the most visually-pleasing results. When taking on any tiling project, you’ll want the wall tiles to “sit” neatly on the floor tiles rather than overlapping them. Finishing your floor tiles first will allow you to place your wall tiles without any gaps, holes, or awkward intersections.

Yes, cracked tiles allow water to seep through the substrate or subfloor, leading to mold and mildew growth. It can also cause severe structural damage. At the very least, water damage can cause your tile to lift from the substrate, meaning one cracked tile can lead to several cracked tiles. It’s a good idea to waterproof tile in areas with direct water exposure or lots of moisture.

In some cases, granite tiles can be installed over existing flooring if the surface is level, stable, and free of moisture issues. However, removing old flooring is often recommended to ensure a secure and long-lasting installation, as well as to avoid height differences at thresholds. Consult with your flooring pro to determine the best approach based on your specific situation.

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

Yes, but you should only put tile directly on drywall in smaller areas that don’t experience excess moisture. For example, a small kitchen tile backsplash could work, but installing tile directly on the drywall in a bathroom or other chronically damp area is not a good idea. Either way, a cement backer board is a far more reliable solution, as drywall is susceptible to moisture and can warp or cause your tiles to crack.
