"Clean cut stone did an excellent job with our countertop installation. we interviewed 3 contractors before going with clean cut. Their price was competitive with the other two, but their communication and follow through set them apart . They were also able to measure, fabricate and install with outstanding quality, all within a few days. Others told us it would take two weeks. I am an architect and this was an installation for my own home, so i was vey particular about the details. Moshe came out to measure and then put me in contact with David to answer some follow up questions that I had. David was detail oriented and answered all of my questions and was willing to work back and forth with me via phone and text to resolve details and scheduling. I look forward to working with them again on my next project."

"Seth Fogel, the owner of Take Us For Granite came to my condo to give me an estimate for replacing the countertops in my kitchen, two bathrooms and hallway nook. He was extremely professional and courteous and gave me good solid information that was valuable when it came to making my selections of materials and colors. His prices are fair and competitive, and they came in under schedule. Seth and his team are top-notch professionals. I highly recommend them without hesitation."

"Eran and his crew at Superior Home Remodeling delivered! I truly appreciate Eran's guidance through my major home remodel. My HOA is very strict and required extensive plans and paperwork to get architectural and HOA approval. No task or requirement seemed too big or complicated for him. I appreciated his optimism during entire process. He truly loves his work and wants his clients to be happy. I also appreciated his help with design as he has an eye for what works. I am very pleased with the choice of engineered wood flooring, the quartz countertops, the tile in the bathrooms and the beautiful cabinetry. I feel fortunate to have found this company and would recommend them to anyone looking for a stylish remodel with attention to the details. A big remodel can seem overwhelming at first but Eran is patient and walks you through the steps and does the shopping with you to help you find exactly what you want. If you want personalized attention and beautiful work, you've found it with Superior Home Remodeling!"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

No, you should not put hot pots or pans directly on epoxy countertops, as this can cause permanent damage. While epoxy is heat-resistant, it is not fully heatproof. Epoxy countertops can typically withstand temperatures ranging from 135°F to 300°F, but cookware directly from a stove or oven can reach much higher temperatures (300°F to 500°F). Placing an extremely hot item on the surface can cause it to melt, soften, or discolor. To protect the integrity and appearance of your countertops, always use a trivet, hot pad, pot holder, or other heat-resistant barrier before setting down hot cookware.

Formica® countertops last an average of 10 to 15 years. Top-quality materials that are well looked after and in a low-traffic kitchen could look good for 20 to 30 years or more—but you may want to replace them to modernize your space before they start to look shabby. Avoiding harsh cleaners and using chopping boards can help keep your Formica® countertops looking good for longer.

Marble is a porous natural stone that needs sealant to minimize staining. Leaving this type of countertop material sealant-free means any liquids left on the surface will quickly absorb into the stone, discoloring it and dulling the sheen. Dark or acidic liquids, like red wine, coffee, and lemon, are the worst culprits.

Several countertop materials are designed to require as little maintenance as possible. The most popular options for ease of use include laminate, stainless steel, and quartz. These options are nonporous, so they’re unlikely to stain or be affected by mold and bacteria. They’re also easy to wipe down and safe to use with various cleaning products.

You can occasionally use hydrogen peroxide to remove stains on concrete and granite countertops. Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizing agent that cleans without bleaching surfaces, which is why it’s so popular as a budget-friendly cleaner. However, it’s still somewhat acidic, so you should use it sparingly on certain countertops.
