"The panel replacement went reasonably well, however the installers either misplaced or dislodged a part which became stuck farther down the pipes, blocking the plumbing. I decided to cut open the PVC pipes, remove the blockage and re-assemble the lines myself, instead of having them come out and pay their hourly rate. "We were referred to LAR Construction & Remodeling by a family friend and we contacted Gili, scheduled a meeting and provided him the vision of what we wanted to have and to also know how much we can spend. Gili came back with his laptop and with a 3D design of the pool including all the hardscape that by far surpassed all of our hopes and his proposal estimate was also within our budget (which means that he listened to us and understood our needs very good). Gili even made some modifications to the placement of the pool which maximized the space of the backyard. Gili estimated the remodeling project as a 3 months project (on a daily basis). We believed that it will take much longer because the type of the pool that needed a cut into the hillside, hardscape, sprinklers and more and more... But surly enough, they were done with the project a little bit longer than the 3 months. We do recommend Gili and all his team to anyone who is looking to design and build a pool. Gili helped us picking out all the colors for the stones around the pool."

"I had Paramount come out to give me an estimate on refurbishing my empty swimming pool. It had been leaking water and we emptied it 2 years ago so it was time to either fix it or fill it in.

The estimator/sales guy came exactly on time, discussed the process and the issues he could see and emailed me an estimate later in the day. The only fly in the ointment for this part of the process is that I wrote back and asked him what kind of things typically drove up the price of this type of project (originally slated to be a re-tile and re-plaster job) and he didn't have any. I think he could have but more on that later.

The workers showed up exactly when scheduled and got right to work. They found that much of the plaster had lifted away from the gunnite and they really had to take it all down. They also found about 3 times as many structural cracks as estimated but that had been left open so that was okay. I was disappointed to be hit with the new charge of stripping the pool but Jorge cut me a really generous deal for the cost of the stripping and the extra cracks and I'm pretty sure I got the better end of the bargain. They also found that there were cracks in the corners of the pool and they applied extra rebar and concrete to those areas. They did not charge me more money for those repairs.

The job started on 7/20 and by 7/29 water was flowing into the pool again and it looks great. The crew did a good job of cleaning up and I'm quite pleased with the outcome. I recommend Paramount without hesitation."

"I was recommended to Fine Point Painting by my parents. In the past my parents had bad luck with contractors who gave meaning to the term, Jack of All Trades Master at None. I grew up doubting contractors but Bill and his crew were fantastic. When he came out to do the bid he answered all of my questions and was thorough on explaining to me the reasons. When I had additional questions/concerns he was quick to reply via email.
The house we purchased to put it nicely, was in bad shape. Previously, it was a rental which I'm sure you can imagine the state
it was in. It also had termite damage in which Bill advised me to have the paint job done after the fumigation tenting. Apparently,
fumigation causes fresh paint to peel!!! Thank goodness we painted after the tenting.
We had the whole works done on the interior. The acoustic popcorn on the ceiling was removed, sanded, textured, primed, and
painted throughout the house. Also, the trim, doors and cabinets had oil based paint which needed to be sanded and primed in order for the latex paint to stick. The walls were sanded as well to remove embedded hair follicles and pebbles that were painted in the walls from the previous painter. Most of the interior of the house and entire garage smelled of animal urine and they pressure washed the garage with a cleaning solution to eliminate the smell. There were numerous cracks on the walls and ceilings which they filled. There were also 8 giant holes in the walls that they patched. They did an amazing job on the patchwork since you can't tell they were there!!! His crew was professional, courteous and they came on time. Also, they cleaned up after themselves very well. And this is coming from someone who is borderline OCD.
There were no hidden fees or added fees tacked on at the end. What made it easier for us was a payment plan which was broken down into 3 payment installations. This meant we paid them after each chunk of work was completed. I have heard stories where people have paid contractors upfront and the contractors run away with money or they don't finish the project.
If Angie's List had +'s and -'s I would give them A+'s. There are no words to express how pleased we are with Fine Point Painting. Our house looks amazing, the garage has no smell and I will hire them again for future projects.
