"Chris removed the toilet and cleanned up a lot of silicon. He said the wax seal was good but the toiltet was loose because the flange and drain pipe needed to be secured from below because they pulled toilet up when screws were tightened. He reset the toilet, told me not to use it, and cost was $250. I contacted my condo's HOA. Their plumber said it was the seal. I called Phill and explained the situation. He came immediately and agreed that the seal was good but came up with an easier way to brace the toilet without going through the downstairs unit. Chris came back and finished the repairs following Phill'sinstructions. Cost to me: another $250. The service was prompt and professional. Phil resonded right away and explained the fix very clearly. My complaint is that had I been given all the options the first visit, work could have been completed then without doubling the cost. I did call Phill and asked him to discount the second visit. He responded that he would review the invoices which he did not have yet. my charge bill shows two $250 charges for a total of $500. I was notlooking for a free ride for the second visit. Any discount would have shown good will regarding the unnecessary second visit. My low ratings are based on the fact that I had to pay for a second visit when work could have been completed in one."

"I have 3 Kohler Rialto one piece toilets that are very difficult to repair.  The toilet seats attachment connections are not accessible so you have to remove anchors from the top and then insert and attach new anchors.  I replaced the seats on a couple of them myself and it was an incredibly difficult process of trying to drill or break out the old anchors.  Adding the new ones seems easy.  Unfortunately if you tighten the new anchor too much it can expand and crack the toilet.  Which I did.
So now I had to replace one of the toilets.
I contacted Albano's and explained that I needed to have the toilet replaced in the next two days because my wife was returning from a trip and would be very unhappy that I destroyed one of our toilets while she was gone.
They sent Eric out within 30 minutes with the new toilet, at less than it cost from Home Depot, and he completely removed and replaced the toilet perfectly.
These are expensive toilets.  However, they told me up front what it would cost including service and they did exactly what they said for exactly the price they told me.  No shenanigans.
Eric was extremely helpful and professional.  I will definitely use them again if I need any plumbing done.

"Started with my bathroom toilet that would not drain.  I was unsuccessful so call experts,.  they ended up putting a scope and found that my iron pluming was flaking and needed jet blasting to restore to clean.  they asked about our main line.  We usually have trouble every year or so do to a large tree that has roots going into the main line.  They scoped the main line to the street and found a big root in our pipe that took up most of the pipe.  A couple of loads of wash and it would have backed up.  solution was to dig down 7 feet by our sidewalk were the root was and replace the pipe.  When they got down there the replaced the pipe and scoped to the street and found some more roots and it was clay back to out clean out  which was about 15 feet from the first hole.  They could sleeve to the street but we have a weak link in the clay to the clean out.  So we opted to do a non trench, replace the clay, sleeve the to the street and jet the house.

"If you are looking for a great plumbing company, focused on performing quality and reliable work at reasonable cost--look no further! Alliance United Plumbing has our highest recommendation and Javier, Alliance Unitedâ s owner, is the only plumbing pro and expert we now call when we have any plumbing problems or require other plumbing services/maintenance. This year, Alliance United completed 3 plumbing projects for us. In Jan-Feb 2023, Alliance United replaced a combined length of 46-ft (approx.) of deteriorating 3-in cast iron sewer line on our 4-unit property. About 30-ft ran under a ground floor concrete slab, under the front steps, and onto the city sidewalk to the city sewer line. A lot of jack hammering and hand digging with shovels was required to expose and replace this deteriorating sewer line. Following city inspection, which passed without a hitch, every bit of excavated dirt/soil was put back in place, compacted, and new concrete was poured to replace all that was jack hammered. In the process, another 3-in sewer line was discovered to be buried under our garage concrete slab that connected to the street. Thankfully, Javier determined (via cable camera) this 18-ft cast iron pipe could be serviced (hydro jetting) and the interior relined using a chemical resin/fiberglass process. That section of sewer pipe now has a strong and smooth resin lumen, fortified with fiberglass, and should last for decades! In early May 2023, a second story toilet and bath tub backed up with raw sewage each time a third floor toilet was used and flushed. Alliance United cut away the ceiling sheet rock on the ground floor and exposed a horizontal 3-in cast iron branch line that was obstructed by scale build up, waste, and rust. Leakage was also imminent due to cracks in the pipe walls. All the connections to this branch line were replaced using ABS, including the 23-ft (approx.) branch line itself. Now the second and third floor toilets flush and the bath tubs drain without any backflow, without obstruction, and without any leaks! In June 2023, we experienced another leak from the ground floor ceiling. When the sheet rock was opened, a 2-in cast iron horizontal branch line that drained the third floor kitchen sink was found to be rusting and leaking from several cracks in the cast iron. This 5-1/2 ft cast iron branch line was replaced with ABS, along with several other cast iron fittings. Like the other two earlier plumbing problems, the Alliance United team resolved this issue like the pros they are! My husband and I are dubbing 2023, the â Year of the Leaksâ ! Throughout each of our plumbing nightmares, there was one plumbing company, Alliance United Plumbing, that helped us to resolve all these problems. Javier and his team are truly honorable individuals who care most about doing their best work, offering the best service, quality, and warranty to all their customers at reasonable cost. They are clearly knowledgeable and experienced with a wide range of plumbing systems, both residential and commercial, always putting customer service first! Given our experiences with Javier and his team (including Javier Jr.!) and the service and quality of work they have provided each time, Alliance United Plumbing has earned our customer loyalty. Alliance United Plumbing will always be our plumbing company of choice and once again, we cannot recommend Alliance United more highly! Thank you, Javier, for helping us through our plumbing nightmares over the past 6-months. You and your team are absolutely the best!"

"I really appreciated how quickly Robert responded to my calls for service. Initially, I wanted a non-functioning water softener system removed. Robert scheduled the work to be performed within a couple of days of my request. My family was very pleased that his team could haul away the old water softener tank, and that they left the vacant area in such great condition. A few days later, I needed immediate help with a "running", leaky toilet. His team was on site within an hour of my request and quickly resolved the problems. In both cases, Roberts efforts to address our needs in the time frame we needed, the quality of work, and friendliness of everyone involved was outstanding."

"Got the job done complety trust these men, first they didnt try to impress me with big words didnt tell me the sky was falling, they are matter of fact less talk more right to the point, not afraid to get their hands dirty like one of the otber companies that sent someone Tbat by looking at him wasn't about to work plumbing but work me for the $. a confidence man I was looking for a plumber and I found the Burris Brothers excellent, they worked well together and are kind and soft spoken, Not like the bombastic salesmen trying to impress me who pose as plumbers and who think that being loud pushy and better than everyone who is a prospective customer who likes being pushed around. I've done my own plumbing on my house this last 20 some odd years and qm getting on am an old man now, I trusted Burris right off, it took some time as my house has pipes from 1908 everyone got along the job is perfect they even asked me to have the gas co come out and recheck. Know they did right plumbers"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

The first step to clearing the air in a line is to locate the cause. This is usually a blockage in either the drain or the venting system. Once you clear the issue, flush the system by actually flushing the toilets repeatedly. This should allow the trapped air to escape, thus clearing the lines. Don’t be surprised if there is increased bubbling as the air makes its way through the system.

Yes, and no. Your shower, toilet, and sink all connect to the same main drain, but the secondary drains going from each fixture to the main drain are usually separate. This isn’t always the case—especially in older homes—but since toilets contain black water and showers, tubs, and sinks have grey water, toilets are more regulated and come at a greater risk of contamination. It’s best to keep these drains separate using individual waste collection for this reason.

Some of the most common bathroom leaks include showers, sinks, and toilets. Most homeowners discover these leaks because of the chronic dripping sound faucets and showers make as water drips to the ground, but a leaky toilet will often appear as a puddle. Inspect your bathroom faucets, showers, and toilets every month to detect leaks quickly.

The lifespan of a toilet can vary significantly. While the porcelain body itself can last up to 50 years or more with proper care, most plumbers suggest an average functional lifespan of 10 to 25 years, and many homeowners replace their toilets after about 20 years.

A toilet's longevity is influenced by factors like maintenance quality, hard water buildup, and damage to the finish. It's also important to note that internal components have much shorter lifespans than the bowl; for example, flappers may last only a few years, while fill valves can last around 10 years.

Even if an older toilet is still functional, consider upgrading to a high-efficiency model to save on water costs.

The Thanksgiving holiday period is one of the busiest times of the year for plumbers. Both Thanksgiving Day and the day after, often called Black Friday or "Brown Friday" by plumbing professionals, see a significant increase in service requests. This is because a house full of guests, large holiday meals, and unfamiliarity with the home's plumbing can lead to clogged drains, garbage disposal issues, and sewer line backups. Outside of the holidays, the busiest weekdays for plumbers are typically Monday and Tuesday, as many people discover plumbing problems over the weekend but wait to call for service. Despite the holiday, you can rest assured that many plumbers work on Thanksgiving and Black Friday to handle the surge in emergency calls.
