"Reyes Tree Services did a great job for us. They arrived on time, got the job done quickly (a team of 3 hard workers), and cleaned up the area so it was even better than when they arrived. I heartily recommend Juan Reyes and his teams!"

"Reyes Tree Service worked two days at my residence, First in the front cutting down a tree damaged by the previous drought and taking out an overgrown hedge of volunteer figs against the house wall with overgrown stumps. They excelled in their work and even went beyond what they said they were originally able to do. The second day they trimmed and pruned everything in the back yard, including all of the citrus trees that had never been professionally trimmed or pruned in thirty years, Five crew members worked the entire second day on the backyard and it came out way better than I imagined. I will now probably use them to trim everything on my property at least once a year. All their work was quality and I would definitely recommend them to anyone for the excellent quality of their work and customer service."

"I recently had Lead Saw Tree Service take out a tree from my yard, and it was such a breeze. They were super easy to deal with from the moment I asked for a quote to when they showed up on time and got the job done within the schedule they promised. It made my day so much easier and stress-free. I'd definitely recommend Lead Saw Tree Service for any tree removal job."

"Robert Duran and his crew from 3-D Tree Services, Inc. were top notch today from the quote/survey to completion! I am amazed how quick, efficient, professional and kind this entire team is to work with! This was a tough job (Old/Invasive Pepper Tree). The crew was in sync with each other, allowing the process to be quick and safe. I’m so happy I found them through Home Advisor and the response to my inquiry was quick. Thank you everyone! "Gilbert (the Project Manager) was responsible, reliable and on time. They brought all the necessary equipment to do the job (tree removal), they proceeded to do the job without any hiccups and finally cleaned up after the work was done. They were very professional and respectful. I highly recommend them and I will be using them for future projects."

Customers say: Quality work

"Sal and his crew did a great job trimming two huge and badly overgrown trees in our front lawn. They worked hard and strategically removed branches to shape the trees. They cleaned up the site well at the end of the job. All of the men were pleasant. The price for the job was very fair. I would enthusiastically recommend this company."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Since summer is a busy time for tree companies, the cheapest time of year to remove a tree is during the winter. February and March are typically the prime time to hire a tree removal pro, and some homeowners living in colder climates can save around 20% off services. It depends on location and the company, but you can always shop around for the best deal.

While the fastest way to kill a tree is to simply cut it down, there are several other methods to choose from. You should hire a professional tree removal service to cut down a tree to ensure your personal and property safety. Some slower but effective options include treating or grinding the tree stump or using a basal bark treatment.

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

Dead trees are dangerous for several reasons. They are structurally compromised and prone to branch or trunk failure, which can pose a significant safety risk to people, vehicles, and nearby structures. Dead trees can also harbor pests like termites, which may spread to other trees or your home. If a tree died from a disease, it could spread the illness to healthy trees. Additionally, the dry wood is highly flammable, increasing fire risk.
