West Coast Tree Care

West Coast Tree Care is the only company I will hire to care for my four-story tall ash tree. John has taken care of our tree for over ten years and we have done three major trimmings with him. Gonzalo and his team know trees! Their team worked for two days on our tree, assessing its health and shaping it to last for years between trimmings. The team was very careful with our roof and existing plants below, and I could not be happier with the results. They are not the cheapest company you will find, but believe me when I say you get what you pay for! I made the mistake once of hiring based on cost (I didn't know any better - this tree needs people who know what they are doing!). The first company I hired years ago did nothing for the health of the tree, did not protect the roof, and ended up dropping a six-inch diameter branch through our roof, falling like a spear into our home office and nearly hitting my husband's head! Never again. I cannot speak highly enough of John, Gonzalo, and all they guys at West Coast Tree Care.

I had the pleasure of having Gonzalo and his team from West Coast Tree Care trim 3 very large and overgrown pine trees growing on an awkward bank near our house.  

His crew showed up right on time with the crew of Best Care Tree service (the companies often work together) and I can’t speak highly enough about them.  They were prompt, courteous, conscientious and professional from the moment they arrived until the job was done.

I have three healthy and beautiful trees now.  I definitely recommend Gonzalo and West Coast Tree Care service.  I’ll be using them again in the future.

The whole crew was fast, gracious, and clean. The trees look great. They were on time and explained everything they were doing. And it was a good price to boot.

Flawless from start to finish. Jeff came out promptly for an estimate, took his time with it and listened to my needs and wishes. They scheduled quickly and maintained excellent contact throughout the process. The crew boss was pleasant, responsive, and professional, and constantly monitored all aspects of the work, asking for feedback as they went along to make sure that everything was done exactly the way I wanted it. The crew was friendly, efficient, and hard-working; and best of all, they were very careful of everything in my yard, covering things for protection and hand-carrying materials. When they were done, everything was tidy and cleared, and the plants looked so much better. I can recommend these guys wholeheartedly -- it was an exceptional experience, and I will definitely have them back for my further tree care needs.

It was truly a pleasure dealing with this company. I quickly arranged a meeting to consult with Jeff. He arrived on time, we discussed the scope of work, and I was given a written estimate. The work was scheduled for about a week later at 8AM. The crew arrived about 7:30 and asked if they could begin early. Everyone associated with the company was polite, friendly, and responsible. The crew was quite large (6-8 men) and the work was completed in just a few hours. In the process of pruning a large mulberry tree, it was determined that the tree (growing sideways on a steep slope) was at risk of falling onto the neighbor's property. As a result, we altered the work order and removed the tree (not the roots). The crew went out of their way to protect our property -- using sheets of plywood to protect exterior walls and covering sprinkler heads to prevent them from being broken. They did a superb cleanup job at the end. I cannot recommend this company too highly.

It would be great if all contractors worked out so easily. Scheduling both the estimate and the service was simple. Mike was on time, he gave advice and explanations, and he had a highly competitive rate. The team showed up promptly, were very courteous, and seemed to really enjoy their jobs and take pride in their work.
There was a mishap involving one plant--which itself was pretty impressive given that the tree was surrounded by plants. The team was prompt to point it out and they graciously adjusted the final bill to account for it, without my even having to ask. Problems happen in life, it's how a company responds that differentiates them.
Mike is an arborist, which further ensures that this company is at the top of the list for future tree needs.

Overall, these guys were great - professional, friendly, informative and timely. We originally met with Mike, the owner and arborist to review the yard and get a quote. A year later we were ready for them to come back and do the work - and they did a great job. The did not top our tree - they trimmed about 75% of the foliage, but left it looking natural and healthy. They carefully sawed down a portion of a tree in our backyard, never damaging the house or anything near it. Additionally, we feel like we have someone we can rely on for good knowledge on how to handle a variety of tree types around our yard. Will definitely bring them back for future jobs.

It went great. We just used the man who came out as an arborist. He did not actually do any physical tree work. We got his consultation on how to treat the trees, which trees we should just cut down and which ones may we treat by what methods to try to revive them. It was definitely worth what he charged. We had a nice and complete list of the trees in our yard and how to take care of them. We would absolutely recommend them and probably use them again.

His crew appeared on time on the day of the appointment. They were polite and professional.
Because of the size of the trees and the need to trim one of the hackberry trees extensively because of a sooty cancer infection it took two days to complete the job.
The crew did not drop any branches rather they lowered them with ropes. They also trimmed back an old boxwood hedge and several ficus trees. They chipped and removed all of the trimmings.
They also move our lawn table and furniture to prevent accidental damage.

He's fantastic. I've used him 3 times already and he is great. I really can't recommend him enough. He is very professional and has a decent price. It is overall a good service. It was $1,300 to take down the trees and $350 to prune the palm trees. He is my go-to guy now.

I got several quotes to trim some trees. This company came out estimated and did the job right away. Everybody should work like this. DId what he said he would do and did a good job. If everyone worked like this there wouldn't be a need for Angies list

Mike was very prompt in giving a quote. After he gave a quote I have got quotes from three other companies. two of them are top company rated in angie list. Out of these companies Mike was most responsive and gave me 2nd best quote, which is almost 20% lower than another two. I like him so I chose his service. After that things were smooth. He told me I did not need to be home when they did it so I went to work. When I am back the tree was gone, this stump carved the way I asked and the drive way was cleaned. I got an invoice in my mailbox. So smooth. I love it and would highly recommend him.

They allowed appointments via the web which is convenient. They were punctual, timely in the response and had competitive pricing.

When Mike came for the estimate he explained the process for trimming each tree and why he doesn't top off any trees like most trimmers do. He showed me past damage on our mulberry tree where this has happened. He did a fantastic job with all 3 trees, they look fantastic and our backyard looks amazing! He also was very thorough with the clean up. Highly recommend White's Tree Service!
