"The plumber was prompt, professional, and completed the issue with my toilet in about 30 minutes. The downside was it was an expensive repair due to the $300 service call fee for such a quick fix. The plus was that the Plumber took off $25 as a first time customer ($275 instead of $300), but with the tank parts the total fee was $325."

"I highly recommend Nick. He responded to my request for services within minutes after the sewer line backed up into the showers and toilets. He evaluated the situation the same day and discovered roots and breakage in the sewer piping. Nick explained everything in detail along with video of the sewer pipes and let us know what work was being performed every step of the way over the course of a 3-day job. Nick is professional, fair in pricing, and extremely knowledgeable. He and his team did a great job. He also left everything spotless and clean. A few weeks later, we needed a new toilet since the original one was very old, cracked and leaking. He responded to my request within minutes and made room in his schedule to install a new toilet the very same day. Thanks again for a 2 jobs well done!"

"I have used many contractors in my life. They are the best I have ever worked with. The two principals were total gentlemen who treated us like family. Knowledgeable, efficient, reliable, Everyone of their workers were hard working and stayed on the job 8-9 hours a day. I canâ t say more that I am very happy with them. PS: just because the job took a little longer they bought us a new toilet at no chargeâ ¦..!!"

"I’d like to share my experience with John Roberts Plumbing and highlight the excellent service provided by Michael. He was meticulous and precise in his work, taking careful measurements and ensuring everything was done correctly. What stood out most was his dedication, he worked late into the night to make sure the job was completed thoroughly and on time. Michael was also highly responsive, promptly answering calls and maintaining clear communication throughout the process. In addition to his technical skills, he offered thoughtful advice and practical suggestions, showing both expertise and a genuine commitment to quality service. Toilets questions, answered by experts

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.

If you know the job is going to be extensive (and you don’t like surprises), hiring a Roto-Rooter specialist may make sense for you. You’ll know how much you’re going to pay right away.

That said, hiring the best plumber isn’t solely about price. If you've worked with a plumber you trust before or have a list of plumbing services you need tackled at your home, working with a plumber might be a better choice for you.

Some of the problems with in-wall toilets include the complex installation, which might need extra framing. It is also more difficult to access the toilet tank for maintenance or troubleshooting because it’s behind the flush button panel and in the wall. Over time, you’ll spend more on maintenance because you’ll need a plumber to work on hidden plumbing.

The cost depends on the parts, labor, extent of damage, and whether extensive plumbing modifications are required. Typical repairs cost $150-$300.

The lifespan of a toilet can vary significantly. While the porcelain body itself can last up to 50 years or more with proper care, most plumbers suggest an average functional lifespan of 10 to 25 years, and many homeowners replace their toilets after about 20 years.

A toilet's longevity is influenced by factors like maintenance quality, hard water buildup, and damage to the finish. It's also important to note that internal components have much shorter lifespans than the bowl; for example, flappers may last only a few years, while fill valves can last around 10 years.

Even if an older toilet is still functional, consider upgrading to a high-efficiency model to save on water costs.
