Most recently they painted my house, installed new gutters, redid my landscaping and hardscaping (including installing a new outdoor shower and drain), rebuilt a set of indoor stairs to our loft (very steep rise/run and narrow, but Richard made them very usable and safe for my young kids) and finished parts of my attic in a smart way that that added a ton of space and utility to my home (he was very creative and solved a ton of issues that others struggled with). Richard’s pricing is always fair, he has great workers and he always makes sure the job is done correctly and to your liking. He also moves fast and is respectful across the board. From top to bottom. We even had him come and paint our screened in covered porch. We also requested inside the closets. It was a big project. He was very profesional and we were able to leave him with a deposit to get the paint. We wanted shades of white and he suggested we use a good quality paint by Dunn Edwards and he helped us to find the right hues of white until we were certain. He really got every detail and even came back when I told him I forgot to ask him to remove a bathroom mirror and paint behind it. - He's trustworthy and a good communicator. We could count on him to move the furniture, protect our things from paint and it's been 5 months since he did this job and I haven't seen one mistake and the paint still feels brand new. I just love having a bright clean freshly painted home. I feel energized and more at peace in the house. He painted over a tan, beige and marrón walls and brown ceilings. The house felt dark and gloomy. Now it's alive with a new paint job it's been uplifted. It feels more spacious and I'm able to work from home and focus better. Amazing how paint can cure a home! We actually felt so comfortable with him that we traveled out of state while he painted most of the home. He would reach out and report his progress while we left town. He is kind and helped our housekeeper who came to pack and move things out of his way. He had no problem prepping the house and lifting things and then putting them Back in their place. She said she wished he would come back again some day. He even painted behind heavy things like the washer/dryer and it was flawless. It wasn't stressful at all for us because Travis delivers and actually goes above and beyond. We actually over paid him accidentally which he brought to our attention immediately when he noticed the money transfer. He quoted us when he first came to the house but measured everything properly to get the full scope and he came back with an exact quote the next day. We secured a date about 60 days out with a small deposit. He kept in touch, as we got closer to our date, so we were ready, we gave him a materials partial deposit on the first day and he began. He worked with us straight for at least two weeks. I think we just missed Travis because in less then a month he was back working with us. But this time at a rental property we Airbnb. We needed a different sort of a paint job. We needed retouch painting in some areas of the home and in others a complete do over. He was able to fix dents, cracks and peeled paint in the walls. Also we noticed that the pine wood paneling was bleeding through the paint in two rooms. So he told us what needed to be done with sealing it and it wasn't a big deal. He's not the type that says things like oh that's a lot of work and really hard blah blah and take you for a ride. Again we showed him what we thought needed work. He gave us a daily rate this time plus materials and we both agreed to flexibility. As was able to come back and finish rooms in between guests staying. His magical paint techniques helped our old painted wood veranda and wood siding damaged by elements outside. Some day it will need to be replaced, but he bought us time, saved us money and it made a big difference. I'll be hiring Travis again this coming year for the next makeover. We want to change the wood kitchen cabinets and paint them Grey or white and a few dark grey. It's a totally different type of project that requires a lot of skill and taking them off and use of not water based spraying paints. Plus sanding etc. So he builds a chamber he will make in my garage. We picked a date that we can leave him alone for a week while we travel to see family. I'm looking forward to the transformation. Get Travis and experience the difference! It feels really good to pay for quality work. I will never again settle for mediocrity which I realized is what I got from past painters we hired. Once you know how it should and can be done by skilled tradesmen like Travis there's no settling for anything subpar. Thanks so much Travis. And we hope to see you yearly for anniversary retouch painting for our rental property. It made it pop again! PS I also want to hire you back on day hopefully soon to smooth the stucco on the exteriors walls of the house and change the color to something lighter. Can't wait

When change orders came up, Ferdy was very fair in his quotes for extra work and I appreciated that he was creative with finding solutions as we needed them. Elias was our project manager and he was always available to meet with us and ensure everything was moving forward. The crew did a total renovation - from down to the studs to new hvac/plumbing to kitchen cabinets to exterior concrete and new stucco finish - FHS could do it all and do it very reasonably. FHS was also great at working with my pool contractor and I appreciated the extra collaboration at no charge. The house came out exactly as I wanted it and I am so grateful to Ferdy and his crew for their hard work

"If you are removing acoustic 'popcorn' from ceilings, I recommend that you give Original Richard a chance. The crew is very experienced in the process. There are other companies that specialize in popcorn removal that bid less and told me they would do my 1100 sq. ft. job in just a day. I wanted a good job rather than a fast one. After getting the proposal from Steve at Original Richard and discussing the job I was convinced that Original Richard would do it best. They took 4 1/2 full days, usually with 4 guys, and got it right. They also changed out some ceiling lights to new LED lights.
