Modern Technology and Old-Fashioned Customer Service. For more than 60 years, George Brazil Plumbing & Electrical has been providing old fashioned, high quality, professional customer service in the plumbing and electrical service industry. Our mission is to foster an enjoyable working environment while creating comfortable, healthy, safe and energy efficient places to live and work in the Valley of the Sun.

"DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY OR PATRICK RILEY/ISLEY'S I had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with Patrick Riley during the installation of a new AC unit, which cost $17,000. I initially called George Brazil but was told their sister company Patrick Riley was available sooner. Despite the substantial investment, the service was far below what was promised and honestly worse than a McDonald's employee. We started off the day around 7am when Ivan rang my doorbell, upon answering I was given a finger to hold on as he was on the phone asking a buddy to bring him Ibuprofen (for what I can only assume was a hangover as he later laid in my lawn throwing up). This was just the beginning of a series of issues that made the entire process a nightmare. All three technicians entered and exited my house with their shoes on, leaving dirt and debris throughout my home. They were unprofessional and did not know what they were doing. I overheard the technicians discussing their mistakes and expressing uncertainty about how to complete various tasks. Their conversations included phrases like “It’s whatever”, "we can make that work" and “You need to put it on the bulb, the bulb, the bulb. You really gotta start learning these words." reflecting their lack of professionalism and knowledge when it came to installation. The installation, which was supposed to take the length of the work day, stretched to 13 hours and still wasn't completed (and isn't at this point, a week later). They left caulking on my floors and in the garage, without cleaning up or communicating either. They left my bathroom sink dirty and broke the soap dispenser in there, again with no communication. My driveway was a mess the entire time, with the contents of their three vans laid out across my cul-de-sac. I had run to the store to get them electrolytes in addition to the 6+ water bottles they each got, and they were so kind to leave the empty Body Armor bottles I had purchased sitting in the driveway for hours. I received no confirmation paperwork of this transaction (quite a shady business practice imo). They left the customer warranty booklet on a shelf in the garage rather than giving it to me directly and nobody taught me how to use the new thermostat. Additionally, there were white paint marks left all over my garage, driveway, and entryway, which they had admitted to knowing they left after the fact, but no communication was made to me. In the middle of the day, Ivan (who asked for Ibuprofen as he arrived) was found throwing up in my front lawn by my neighbors. No communication was made to me whatsoever, and he continued to touch my property (including my thermostat) with his unwashed hands. I'm a very reasonable person and am able to forgive a lot, but the lack of communication on all fronts is gravely unprofessional. Throughout the job, the technicians took multiple phone calls, some of which included the repeated use of the n-word in front of an underage child. They lied about many aspects of the job and have consistently failed to return my calls, providing excuse after excuse for why the issues have not been resolved. Based on my experience, I strongly advise potential customers to seek alternative providers. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. What was supposed to be a day has turned into over a week with no resolution in sight. The lack of professionalism, respect, and competence demonstrated by Patrick Riley and George Brazil is unacceptable, and I hope my review deters others from making the same mistake."

FAQs for generator installation projects in Queen Creek, AZ

Installing a whole-house generator costs about $5,000 on average. Prices range from $1,550 to $8,500, depending on size, brand, fuel type, and assembly. The size of your whole-house generator is the most significant cost factor, with large homes with high energy demands costing the most to power. Types of whole-home generators include:

  • Portable generators with 1kW–7.5kW capacity: $500–$2,000

  • Partial generators with 9kW–20kW capacity: $2,000–$6,300

  • Whole-house generators with 22kW–48kW: $5,000–$18,000

When maintained properly, a whole-house generator can last up to 20 years. Costs to maintain and repair generators vary by location and type of generator, but you can expect to pay about $150 to $300 per year for annual generator maintenance checks. An experienced generator service technician will inspect your generator’s engine filter, starting mechanism, fuel, lubrication, and coolant levels to keep your generator in good working condition for as long as possible.

When choosing the right size generator for your needs, consider a few items to help calculate the wattage you’ll need. Start by determining which household items and appliances you want to power, and then add the wattages together. Check out the wattage of these essential appliances:

  • Refrigerator: 600 watts

  • Large dehumidifier: 700 watts

  • Large window air conditioner: 1,400 watts

  • Water heater: 3,000 watts

Running home appliances like these requires a partial or whole-house generator. A portable generator may be enough to power your home if you only plan to keep a refrigerator and freezer running.

Here’s what you can run with different wattages and types of generators:

Portable generator:

  • 2,000 watts can handle a large appliance like a freezer or refrigerator, plus a few smaller items like phones or computer chargers.

  • 4,000 watts will keep two large appliances operating and a few smaller devices.

  • 8,000 watts should power most essential appliances and other devices, including a sump pump, well pump, or your dishwasher.

Partial to whole-house generator:

  • 20,000 watts and above will make it seem like your home’s power is still on.

The value of installing a whole-house generator is that your home has guaranteed power, even if the power grid in your area is down. Whether a whole-house generator is worth installing in your home depends on how often you use it, your home’s location, and your lifestyle. For example, installing a whole-house generator is likely worth it if you:

  • Experience frequent or prolonged power outages

  • Work from home

  • Store a lot of cold food

  • Have a sump pump

  • Have a pump for well water

  • Use electronic medical devices

  • Live in a climate requiring heating or cooling
