IN YOUR HOMEThe entire experience was wonderful ... smooth, professional, no glitches, everything explained and all questions answered before anything was done. Kristen instilled a lot of confidence with her expertise and people skills, and went out of her way to arrange for the floor guy to meet separately with me to discuss what would be done, how it would be done, and explain/explore various options -- a step no other contractor even addressed, let alone handled. We agreed on s time and materials approach, which would work best for me (another positive), and the fellow who did all the work -- Max -- was OUTSTANDING. He was literally a jack of all trades, did a couple of extra small things because they fit in his schedule, and provided me with some interesting information about other areas of my house -- not to sell me something or solicit work, but because they were important and he wanted me to be aware. I would hire Max for all my construction work if he ran a separate business (but I am sure you are an asset to In Your Home, so don't let that go to your head, Max). Appliance Guys IncI requested estimates from 3 companies to repair the fume fan on my 30 year old cooktop. The fan motor had seized up. One company never returned my query. Another one asked for details, informed me that the cooktop was too old and they couldn't service it. Appliance Guys sent over a guy who took the fan back to his shop, opened the motor, and replenished the oil in the bearings which had dried out. It now is working great, and hopefully for another 30 years. This was not a part that Amana Corp. intended to be serviced, but Glenn the tech was able to do it. The whole job also came in $44 below estimate, which was cool.- Paul W.

RC Maintenance & Painting, LLCWork was completed on time as quoted. Everyone including office staff communicated clearly and directly with us on all aspects of the job. Did not feel like anything was rushed, lots of patience with all of my questions. Mess was contained and crew cleaned up daily. They removed all garbage afterwards we did not have to get rid of anything ourselves. Crew that came to work, were respectful both in how they handled themselves and how they worked within our home. We built this house and worked with many constructions crews, these guys were the best. Office team stayed on top of all paperwork, and communications with insurance company, and took care of issues with insurance on our behalf. I find it rare to find a business where both the office staff and onsite staff perform so well and provide such great service, together! Usually you get one or the other, not here. Knapp's Service & Appliance Repair LLCUltimately, I needed to replace the oven because Knapp could not find parts for it. Fairly new Whirlpool oven, however had no model number on unit (homebuilder got a deal). Knapp made two visits with new parts, attempted to fix, then said they could not fix it. BUT, Knapp did not charge me for their time and labor. Zero. Pleasant surprise and quite honorable of them to do this.- Jim P.

Absolute Heating & Cooling Solutions LLCAbsolute Heating was phenomenal in response and care of our family during a major heat crisis. The motor/blower on our HVAC went out and we were able to schedule a same day appointment. On arrival, our master technician, Martin Ramirez, was professional and extremely understanding. He showed expertise in quickly identifying the issue, as well as providing us education on how to keep the outside unit in better working order by cleaning around the coils. There was no upsale or high pressure behavior, but because of Martin's excellent customer service and knowledge we will be having our unit serviced every year by Absolute Heating from now on. Ryan was very prompt in answering my call and came out very quickly. He tackled the dishwasher first and quickly diagnosed the problem as a broken filter. He pulled the broken part out and showed it to me - very clearly broken. We discussed options (he was very knowledgeable and forthright) and finally agreed that the entire unit should be replaced. He then gave me some suggestions on where we should go for that. Next, the tackled the oven. After extracting the oven from the wall and running some tests, he found that the fan just started working again. We again discussed options and decided to leave it for now. Ryan is really easy to work with and I will definitely be calling him again on my next appliance repair.

I noticed the other day, while cleaning a toilet in the newish home I recently purchased, that right after it's flushed and the tank has finished filling, there's a dribbling sound that lasts several seconds. Fearing a small leak, I had ProDrain come out to look. After some diagnostics, George (owner) determined it was probably just an artifact of my particular model toilet having a substantial drop from spigot outlet onto outlet connector (as shown in manual). He tested his hunch by having me pour water into the bowl, which indeed reproduced the sound. And I'm embarrassed now to admit this, but we then checked another toilet of same make/model upstairs, and though I'd never heard the sound from it before, I could here it there as well (just not as loud). He charged me for less than an hour of his time, and never had to dismantle anything outside the tank (if it ain't broke don't fix it). I'll definitely call them again if/when I need help!
