"They are the hardest working most efficient team I have seen. Project took 5 days, with replacement, removed both a old gravity furnace and stand alone heater. Installed vents in each room, insulation new venting and pipes. I will use them for any project I have in the future. I highly recommend them."

"Yes, he is the best installer and hvac company we have ever hired. It was a complex attic install and it came out perfect. The boss is a perfectionist and very efficient. Super happy with the level of engineer grade service and attractive pricing compared to other companies with their massive markups on equipment etc!!"

"I highly recommend this company. Ruben was very easy to work with, professional, friendly, efficient and effective. I am very satisfied with my experience. Highlights- -Responded immediately (on the weekend) -Personalized his service to our needs. We live in a very old home that required work beyond simply slapping in a new furnace. He took the extra steps to ensure they whole job was done correctly, not the bare minimum. -Took the time to answer all of our questions and helped us deal with a tedious warranty situation regarding the old furnace. Several other companies flat out refused to address our warranty problems. -Cleaned up after himself, was careful not to track in dirt/mud. -Was respectful and honest in all of our interactions. He gave us the best guarantees for continued maintenance, and I believe he will follow through. -Provided the lowest of all bids. This company is doing what a lot of companies in more rural locations do not- provide competitive, high quality service. Because options are limited and there is enough demand, many companies do not have to go the extra mile to compete for customers. Elite Comfort did, and I appreciate it that effort enough to take the time to write a lengthy review."

"Heath did an over-the-top job. He arrived on time, and he worked past normal quitting time. The power wash on the house looks great because he was so determined to “make everything look great.” I will hire him again every 3 years to do this job as long as I own this home."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The difference between a home surge protector and an HVAC surge protector is that an HVAC surge protector is designed to protect the components inside your HVAC unit while a home surge protector is installed near appliances and meant to protect your entire home. There are three tiers of whole-house surge protectors, and they are more expensive to install than HVAC surge protectors.

If you’re trying to buy a new AC unit, there are a few crucial factors to consider. Look at the cooling capacity, the available warranty, the energy efficiency, and the type of unit. A ductless unit will cost more up front but may be a more viable option if you don’t already have ductwork. Additionally, a unit with better energy efficiency will cost less to run overall, saving you money on your monthly energy bill.

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.

To make the most out of your AC, consider implementing the following best practices:

  • Choose the right size AC for your home to ensure your unit runs as efficiently as possible.

  • Choose a window with shade, as direct sunlight can cause your AC unit to overheat.

  • Clean or replace the filter at least every two months.

  • Inspect the AC’s fan and straighten it if necessary.

  • Discontinue use immediately if you suspect a malfunction, as running the AC while broken can lead to significant issues.

  • Turn off (or adjust the temperature) when you leave the house.

There are plenty of different not-so-great sounds to hear from your air conditioning unit, like squealing, grinding, water running, excessive gurgling, banging, and clanking. Each of these sounds can indicate a different malfunction with your unit, so it’s important to have a professional assess the problem before it gets worse.
