"Owner, Eric Fisher, was great to work with. He was very responsive, gave a good estimate for the work to be done and had a great pair of sub-contractors to paint the house. The enclosed photo speaks to the pride that Victor and Merico had for the work they did. The photo doesn't do justice to the paint and caulk technique they used on the ceiling/wall juncture. All very precise and well done! A pleasure to work with all three men!"

"I liked everything they did concerning getting our house getting stained. Russ was great and came to give the estimate right away. I felt the estimate was fine and I hired them. They came the next week and got it all done. Looks wonderful. Thanks so much."

"They did what they said they would and were not difficult or unpleasant, but stains did not come out and the odor we were hoping it would remove didn't get removed. They kept trying to sell us extra deodorizing for more than the cost of the cleaning."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

Staining a deck is typically less expensive upfront than painting. The cost to stain a deck professionally averages around $850, with most homeowners paying between $550 and $1,250, depending on the deck's size. A DIY staining project can cost less than $100. The cost to paint a deck ranges from $500 to $2,000. While the initial cost of staining is lower, it's important to consider long-term expenses. Paint can last up to 10 years, whereas stain needs to be reapplied every few years, which could lead to higher costs over time.

No, it is not okay to paint over rotted wood. Painting over rotted wood will not address the underlying issue and can trap moisture, leading to further decay. Properly addressing the rotted wood by removing and replacing or repairing the damaged areas is necessary before you can even consider painting.

A concrete overlay is often the most cost-effective way to resurface a pool deck. To do this, you’ll need to pour a thin layer of concrete over the existing pool deck, which you can customize by stamping or painting. A stamped concrete overlay provides additional traction on a pool deck that can help minimize the risk of people slipping and falling.

Whitewashing isn’t permanent, but it can last for a long, long time. When you apply it correctly or have a seasoned pro whitewash your brick, whitewashing can last for 20 to 30 years or longer. Whitewash is very durable and typically requires little maintenance, making it a great project for most DIYers.
