Asphalt Paving Repair or Patch
I have required the services of Rocky Mountain Asphalt (RMAS) multiple times over the past year, and my expectations have been consistently exceeded. Their work on resealing my 100 yard, two car width driveway, patching cracks, and addressing sunken areas has been excellent. I am extremely satisfied with the results. Additionally, the owner's professionalism and politeness, and most importantly, his frequent communications, have all been exemplary. RMAS has earned an A+ rating in your book. I highly recommend their services.

After being dissatisfied with previous companies, Rocky Mountain Asphalt was great! Harry and Team did a great job at a reasonable price. In addition the Team was prompt, efficient and did a thorough job even on a hot afternoon. I would definitely hire them again.

They were quick to provide an estimate and schedule the work. They were professional and did a commercial grade seal. The work was good quality although there were a few thin spots on the seal where the underlying asphalt was visible. A seemingly minor issue really. I would recommend them to others.

We had to try them to repair some broken areas in our drive and apply a seal coat. Everything turned out great and I would recommend these guys to anyone in need.

I hired them to perform an asphalt chip seal which they said they knew how to perform. It was on my driveway in Cheyenne. They did the work in one afternoon applying a thin coat of hot asphalt, pea gravel (for the chips), and then rolled it into place. After two weeks an estimated 90% of the chips had come loose from the asphalt below. The loose chips showed little or no staining from the asphalt coating. Harry came by later that fall and I informed him of the problem. He offered to spray and overcoat of asphalt on top of the pea gravel without doing anything else. Because it was early fall I declined his offer because of the lower daily temperatures, and I was concerned that this process wouldn't bond to the asphalt sufficiently to create a durable surface. I also thought that if it didn't bond properly to the existing asphalt, it would be much harder to clean up as large clumps of gravel and oil might be stuck together. I then waited until the next spring to contact him, and he again offered to coat the now totally loose pea gravel with the asphalt. He said he would come by and see the problem which he later did. At that time he actually did a small test of the proposed fix spraying the asphalt on top of the loose pea gravel. He stated to my wife who was home that "he didn't know if this process would work, but would give it a try." The next day I tested the proposed fix by rubbing my shoe across the area, and as I expected it took little effort to dislodge the gravel because it was not adhered to the surface below. I contacted Harry and told him that the proposed fix was not acceptable because it was not adhering to the existing asphalt. At that time he became very belligerent when I asked for a partial refund as a solution to the problem. He said that he couldn't do anything other than what he had proposed, and that was my only offer. He also bragged about being in the asphalt business for over 35 years. (His knowledge about chip sealing apparently didn't get perfected during this time.) I consider this a very unprofessional response from an "honest" businessman. I do believe that the only way that this mess could be fixed now, is to to remove all the loose gravel and start over with a clean asphalt surface, and then applying the hot asphalt in sufficient quantity to ensure a bond to the chips. To date he has not offered any other solutions to this unacceptable product, and now I will have to clean up this mess myself. I am out thousands of dollars that I paid him and will now have to hire a reputable local firm to fix it. I would not recommend this company and would caution anyone to be careful, if you hire him to do work.
Response from

"Before the chip seal was applied The customer was made fully aware that there would be some loose rocks on the surface as there is with any chipseal. When he reached out to us we returned to offer solutions to his issue and he would not allow any repairs to be made. I personally went as far as to offer that we power sweep the entire driveway and apply a commercial grade seal ( which is a normally a rather expensive option) for FREE. All he would except was a refund, when I informed him that we are not able to do so he became very insulting and aggressive. There were several attempts to try to make things right but this customer never gave us"

The Team ran out of time the first day and returned a few days later to finish but also provided more sealant to the adjacent area on a second pass so it would all look uniform. Harry made sure personally that everything was done. Very good work - and fast!

Henry was overpriced. Also, his group just sprayed on the sealant. High price and poor quality.
Response from

"When I was made aware of this review I reached out to Todd. There was a misunderstanding of The material we used when I called him Todd informed me he expected it to be brushed on. After I let him know we used an oil based sealer and it cannot be brushed he understood and said that he removed this review. I am sure if somebody from HomeAdvisor were to reach out to him he would let them know he meant to take this review down."
