One was a company specializing solely in basement remodeling, but after scheduling a consultation, I quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit—every little detail came with an added cost, and there were too many unexpected “oh, by the way” expenses. Around the same time, we reached out to American Home Remodeling while gathering quotes. Nick met me at the house, and I walked him through the space, explained our vision, and shared our budget. Based on that, we signed a contract. But during the plan review, the project manager said none of that was included and even claimed he?d never heard of it. We were told Matrix doesn't clean, doesn?t tape, and won?t touch any wiring. We'd have to prep everything ourselves?or live with overspray and debris being painted over. I asked to cancel the contract, but Matrix stopped responding. Now we?re stuck with an open contract, out a down payment, and no work done. They won?t reply or resolve it. Avoid Matrix Basements if you want honest, reliable service."
