From day one, Kyle and his assistant Bruce were a pleasure to have in our home. Not only did they do a fantastic job installing the ceramic tile that we had purchased for our 2 upstairs bathrooms, but they also took every precaution imaginable to ensure that our home would be in as good or better condition than when they began the job.  Drop cloths were laid down the entire way from the front door to both bathrooms.  If they needed to place anything on a countertop or other surface, there was always something to pad it so nothing would be scratched or damaged.  They also went out of their way to ensure that the installation would be as minimally interruptive as possible.  From start to finish they were professional, courteous, pleasant, and fun to have in our home.  Kyle even worked on New Year's Day for several hours to keep the job on schedule.  And above all, our bathroom floors look absolutely amazing.  The quality of work, cuts, alignment, finishes, all spectacular.  Kyle also fabricated custom wood thresholds for both doorways to transition from the tile to the carpet and they blend perfectly with the existing woodwork in our home.  If you have a tiling job, Tilesmith LLC is the company you want to do the job.  They're the best!

Kyle's original estimate of repair ($760) included removal and replacement of the floor pan about one foot around the drain. However, after removing the original estimated amount of the floor pan, it became evident that the damage was more extensive than originally expected. Therefore, Kyle removed the entire floor pan and replaced the entire floor. In spite of the additional work and time (the work took two days longer than expected) to compete the job, Kyle only charged the original cost estimate. The work took five days as different layers needed to dry over night before the next layer of work could be completed. The first day's work to remove the entire floor took all day, but the work on other days only took a few hours each day.  Each day Kyle cleaned up completely and very little disruption in the rest of the bathroom or house occurred.

Kyle  was very professional and his work was excellent. I would use his service again and I strongly recommend his service.

BEWARE OF TILESMITH LLC. THEY DID NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK!!Tilesmith was contracted to tile 2 bathroom floors and the walls behind the sinks. When the workers arrived at my house the first day I was sleeping in the master bedroom (I work 3rd shift). Even though there was no work to be done in the bedroom they came in and were surprised when I was home. The next day I wake up to them cutting a hole in the floor (which we had never discussed.) When I asked what they were doing they said they had to reinforce the floor and this was the only way because it was on the second level. Had they discussed this with me they would have known that there was a utility room under the bath with full access to the floor for reinforcement. They then began some of the prep work and I noticed one of the workers had a tool identical to one I owned and I made a comment about it and he said, yeah it is yours I hope you dont mind me using it. So I start to look and realize that they came to this job with a VERY limited amount of tools. Next they start laying the tiles, one worker outside cutting while the other inside laying them. I start to here tiles smashing on my driveway. The worker cutting the tiles was frustrated that the saw wasn't working well and was smashing some of my expensive tile on the driveway. After about an hour of this they realize they need a different tile saw and run to Home Depot to rent one. The worker laying the tile measured wrong and left a large gap under my hydronic heater which he later filler with grout. Large gaps were also left around door frames. They were to install glass tile on the wall behind sink, which much of it had to be redone because it was not put on straight. After glass tile was set they applied the wrong grout. The grout they used had sand in it that scratched most of the glass tiles. When they grouted the wall the did not cover my new sink, faucet or granite counter and I spent hours cleaning after they left. After grout had dried from the floor they came back to seal it. They wet the entire floor with sealer and let it dry. A haze formed over the tile which would not come off. Kyle came back with different chemicals to try to remove it with no luck. He said he had no idea what it was. After doing some research on the internet I found your NOT supposed to let sealer dry on the tiles and the only way to remove is with heavy scrubbing. Ten hours later I had scrubbed all the film off. The last day they were there I was inside with one of the workers and I heard someone playing basketball in my driveway. We were in the middle of a major remodel so my garage was packed but somehow the other worker had made his way to the back of my garage and dug out a basketball. A few months after the job was complete a few of the tiles had come loose. I called Kyle and he came and pulled up the loose tiles and reset them. Several months went by and they were fine. Now they have come loose again but this time when I called Kyle he did not return any of my calls or respond to the emails I sent ,even though he assured me that he always stands behind his work. After he fixed the loose tile he said if you have any more problems call me and I will take care of it. Some red flags I should have seen were 1 He has no address only a P.O. box. 2 Not registered with the BBB. 3 Not a member of NARI. 4 No website only a facebook page. 5 No company vehicle just workers that show up in cars with limited tools.

I think I found them through Angie’s List. They did a fantastic job. The way they worked with us, they were very responsive. The communication was excellent. It was a great competitive price, and the result was absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship is fantastic and really transformed the front of our house with the job they did. The owner and the workmen were very pleasant and fun to have around the house working on the place. They were very considerate of us moving through the house when they were trying to work. We had an absolutely awesome experience. We were very pleased with the value.

Kyle came out and gave me an estimate to do a tile back splash for our kitchen and to tile the laundry room floor. He was very friendly and professional. He made great suggestions and really showed a thorough knowledge of his craft.  I did not sign up with him right away because I thought his price was a bit high. I searched for months to find someone less expensive and that I thought would do a good job. I did not find anyone. We had Tilesmith do the work and it turned out fantastic. Don't expect they will be in and out super quick. They are craftsmen and do things right....exactly what I wanted! Love the results.

Kyle and his crew installed new tile in my upstairs bath shower stall and bathroom floor. They did an excellent job especially given the curvature of the walls in my hundred year old home. They worked with me the entire way and made some excellent recomendations, they even reset the toilet. The guys were very professional and friendly and did a great job cleaning up each night.

Kyle and his team was friendly, prompt, and courteous when redoing the main floor 1/2 bath.  They tore out the old items, replaced dry wall, installed new tile floor, backsplash, toilet, and faucet. We have already recommended him to a couple other friends looking to have tile work done.

We had two showers started by another tile contractor.  That tile contractor took no measures to shim the walls before putting on the cement board.  In addition, he did not build the curbs properly.  We let that tile guy go and hired Tilesmith.  We called Kyle and he responded very quickly and met with us to assess the situation.  Kyle agreed that the work previously done by the initial contractor had to be fixed before he could do the tile work in the showers.  He removed the cement board and meticulously shimmed the walls so they were perfectly plum.  His crew put on new cement board and rebuilt the curbs properly.  It is all in the prep work and Tilesmith excels in this area.  After the waterproofing was completed, Tilesmith did the tiling of the two showers.  We are extremely pleased with the workmanship.  All cuts are precise.  Kyle built a large niche in each shower.  His miters and cuts are perfect.  Kurt was a pleasure to have in our home assisting Kyle.  Kurt does amazing grout work.  The showers came out perfectly plum and even our custom shower door guy mentioned how plum the showers were.   If care is not taken to square up the walls with the cement board, it will show up when the tile is laid.  You will not be happy!  That is why we let the first tile guy go.

We also had a bad experience with Budiac Plumbing not doing their work properly.  Kyle helped us out by advising the plumber there were problems.

Tilesmith gave us a fair price considering we were out money paid to the first tile contractor.  We couldn't be more pleased with the experience.  Kyle has also helped us with taking out a vanity and re-doing some drywall work that again was not done properly by the drywall guy, Edwards Drywall Service.  The whole renovation process was extremely stressful except for Tilesmith.  It is really hard to find good contractors these days that do quality work.  You will not be disappointed if you hire Tilesmith.

Functional aesthetics are just as important as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical. I made a deep financial investment in high-end ceramic, porcelain, and exotic glass tile materials for a major remodel of my only bathroom. This was the bathroom I?d wanted for 20+ years. The scariest part of the entire project (plumbing, carpentry, etc.) was selecting a tile installer. No average to poor tile installation can ever make functionality worry-free, or make beautiful tile look fabulous. My installation made all the difference between my loving or hating ?that bathroom? more than I did before and for the rest of my life in my home.

I was skeptical and I balked at the lists of tile installers the tile suppliers gave me, but I tried them. Some didn?t return my calls at all. Others sounded more like they?d think about whether they wanted my business rather than my thinking about if I wanted them as an installer. One lady called me back and said her phone number had stopped being the tile setter?s phone number 5 years ago. All her pleading with tile suppliers to take the number off their list had clearly failed. It made me wonder how much the suppliers paid any attention at all to those lists.

Then, there were ?I know A. Guy who does tile? recommendations from everyone who never actually had work done by A. Guy, or A. Guy?s work was a small or ordinary job. After a while, it seemed that everyone does tile, or everyone sets tile. Even my carpentry and plumbing contractors knew A. Guy. A. Guy frequently didn?t set tile for a living or set tile five years ago. I was uncertain if A. Guy would be around 5 years or more from now when I might need him for something that may have gone wrong on my job. Angie?s List was my last resort when it should have been my first.

Finally, and ecstatically, I found Tilesmith, LLC on Angie's. From mid-November to late December 2013, I was fortunate and blessed to have Tilesmith do my bathroom. The owner, Kyle, responded to my first call promptly. He was patient with me and my questions. He was very personable, helpful, and professional. He made me feel comfortable and that no idea of mine was silly or un-doable. After meeting with Kyle, learning what Tilesmith had to offer, and learning that A. Guy didn?t offer a 10-year warranty, I knew I didn?t need to get another quote elsewhere.

I met the crew before work began, so I knew exactly who would be in and out of my home. I was equally impressed with Justin, Kurt, and John. Kyle and the Tilesmith crew always listened to my concerns and made me feel that I was truly their customer paying them; not the other way around. They were undaunted by the challenges a poorly built, 55 year-old home presents. They did what needed to be done to create durable beauty completely different and unrecognizable from the original bathroom. They made the major overhaul look easy. When I had occasion to watch, I was amazed at the technical skills and craftsmanship it takes to do this kind of work and to make this kind of beauty. Every completed section was a "Wow!" When it was finished, even my carpentry and plumbing contractors said that their A. Guy ?couldn?t have done that.? The Tilesmith tile installation is a true work of functional art down to every detail. I have every confidence that I will never have a problem with my installation--functionally or aesthetically--and ten years will be plenty of time to prove it out.

After 20+ years of hate, I LOVE my bathroom thanks to Tilesmith. It is most definitely one of a kind. When the time comes, Tilesmith will be doing my kitchen, too!

Prior to calling Tilesmith and I had installed a "Tile-Redi" shower pan. This product is advertised as being able to install and tile, no need to grade drain or anything. Well, this pan we purchased was defective and wouldn't drain properly. I had it cemented in and had hardi-board sealed on all three sides, it would have been a nightmare to demo this shower pan, so I found Kyle on Angieslist and called him.
Kyle came out a few days after I left him a voicemail and quoted the job via e-mail the next day. The cost was actually very close the cost of the original shower pan, I wish I would have just started with Tilesmith, it would have saved me money, time and a horrible headache...
Kyle installed a very professional shower pan and curb over the existing shower pan, he did all the things you would need to end up with a professional, properly graded and water proofed pan. It has a curb, drains perfectly and it will be a snap for me to finish tiling my master bathroom now.
Overall the project took about two weeks from quote to finish and I found this to be quite acceptable for the amount of work performed and for how busy Tilesmith is this time of year. Kyle was super professional and a nice person to have in my home. I would recommend him for this type of work or any work he advertises.

My experience with Tilesmith, LLC was a very good one.  Kyle Smith, the owner, was very easy to work with and returned all my phone calls promptly.  Kyle answered all my questions and had good suggestions as to the layout of the backsplash.  He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain things to me.  Kyle and Jeff, did a wonderful job.  They were both very conscientious workers and cleaned up at the end of each day.  They had to come out 3 days to get the job done.  The first day to put the tiles up, the 2nd day to grout and the 3rd day to seal it and apply the caulk.  They were here when they said they would be and asked me each day if I had any questions.  Kyle even took care of a problem for us that had nothing to do with their work.  When the granite countertop was installed last year (by another company), it was very tight at the stove opening and we had trouble pulling the stove out.  He offered to grind and polish some of the edge away, so that the stove slid in more easily.  This was totally above and beyond his scope of work, but he did it for us.  I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have tile work done.  Another plus is that he gives a 10 year warranty, which really says a lot about the kind of work they do.

Everything went great.  I was close to re-renting a rental unit and when I noticed some cracks in the shower grout. Kyle was able to review the pictures I emailed him and provide a price range over the phone.  I appreciate that Kyle was able to meet me late in the day so that I didn't have to take off of work.  Kyle arrived early and quickly completed the work for my small job.  He charged me the low end of his range which I appreciated it.  He did nice work and was very professional.  I am planning to replace the tile in my own bathroom in the next year or two and will definitely use him for that work.

Kyle and his group did a fantastic job for us.  We felt very comfortable with Kyle from the start.  He's very personable and we were able to to communicate with him extremely well using email.  We did some of the work on the powder room ourselves, but Kyle arranged a subcontractor to come in and spray texture on the walls before we primed and painted.  That was very helpful and saved us time.  The work Kyle did in installing the porcelain tile was exceptional and very professional.  In addition to installing the tile, he also installed our new sink, vanity and faucet.  Everything looks absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be more pleased with the end result.  We have now have a new bathroom we can show off to friends and family.

Kyle and his installer are awsome. They worked around our schedule even managing to complete the job by Thanksgiving so family could see it. They  were very professional and kept the work area and the other areas of the house as clean as possible. Overall it was a better experience than I had planned for. We have built three houses, all with a lot of tile work, Tilesmith was by far the best so far, and I tend to be a little picky. We used a tile that looks like cherry wood planks and It is a beautiful laundry room. Thanks Kyle, looking forward to doing the kitchen and dinette this summer!

We recently used Tilesmith LLC (Kyle Smith) and Sean Brittman to totally remodel our outdated masterbath.  We had received numerous quotes to do the job, but the numbers were not adding up for me. So I talked my husband into allowing me to act as project manager, and we were able to pull together some very talented individuals to create a stunning, albeit still small, master bath for about half the cost. What's more, the quotes I had received were for ceramic walls and porcelain floors, and that was just not what I wanted.
The scope of work was massive. With Sean's help, the bathroom was completely and neatly demolished -taken back to the studs. We also moved a wall 9" to enlarge the shower.  The ceramic tile floor was removed (only to find another ceramic tile floor underneath! and that one was removed as well). The demo was completed in about 6 hours.
Kyle and Sean then began putting things back together.  The job was done very professionally. We had excellent conversations, and they understood what we wanted. One example of this is that I took my largest shampoo bottles to Kyle, and he designed a beautiful, multi-level niche to accommodate all of our showering essentials.
The floor was leveled, and a heat mat was installed beneath the tile floor. The curb was built up nicely, and the tiles "wrap around".. a very nice touch.  Also, in the shower, the brick pattern "wraps" around at the corners.  It looks very upscale.  I was not sure of what kind of edging to do around the shower, and they suggested a "pencil tile."  I like the look very much.
They also built a corner bench that comes in very handy.
To help keep costs down, I did not order the border tiles for the baseboards as they were very expensive.  Kyle cut all of the baseboards out of the leftover tiles, and it looks great.
We went with a natural travertine tile in a versailles pattern on the floor, and that pattern was repeated in the niche and on the shower bench.  A brick pattern was used on the walls, and 2x2's make up the ceiling in the shower and the shower floor.
Overall we are very happy with the work done by Tilesmith.

Kyle did excellent work.  We were very pleased with both the finished product and with the ease of working with Kyle.  He helped us with making the decisions on tile, grout, etc.  His workmanship was fantastic.  I have done tile work myself and did the rest of the bathroom remodelling myself so I know what is involved in this kind of work.  The finish work that you see is excellent but what impressed me most was his prep work.  He cared a lot about how the work would hold up down the road and not just making something that looks nice right now, when he gets paid.  His prep work was meticulous and the finished work reflected this.
I would highly recommend Kyle to anyone looking to have ceramic tile work done.
