I rate the quality of the product and installation an A for excellent. I rate the sales method an F for misleading. The quotes we worked with showed the sq ft of the granite (32.97 sq.ft.), in a separate area of the quote it showed $38 a sq.ft, it did not show the dollar amount for the granite, i.e sq.ft. X $38. It showed the sink cut out cost of $150, edging cost of $6 - $104 total (more on this later) and then the final total cost of $1,804. Then their contract showed the cost of the granite $1,253, sink cut out cost $150, edging cost $104 and an "Additional: $297" line item for a total of $1,804. Their quote did not show the actual dollar amount for the granite and no mention of the "Additional: $297" line item, but it did show the total cost of $1,804. Just before the countertops were to be delivered I was discussing the great deal I got to one of my fellow Milwaukee Real Estate Association investor. I went to e-mail him my quote when I noticed the ?Additional: $297? line item on the contract. That is when I started to look more closely at the quote and contract. Here are my issues: 1. First, I did not do the math on the quote and look more closely on the contract to see the discrepancies that I am about to discuss. So shame on me, I accept the price I paid. Hopefully you will learn from my experience and that is why I am spending the amount of time I am to write this review. 2. The edging was quoted as $6.00 per linear foot. The price on the quote was $104. I had 15 linear feet, which should have cost me $90. 3. By not presenting the granite price on the quote, $1,253, it was not readily apparent that the granite price, plus sink cutout, plus edging didn?t add up to the total cost on the quote of $1,804. 4. Because I did not do the math on the cost of the granite plus edging, plus sink cutout, I did not notice that the individual items did not match the total project cost on the quote. 5. Because we did not do a line item check on the contract when the total contract price matched the quote price, we did not notice the unexplained ?Additional: $297? line item. 6. When I called and spoke with the manager, Erick Kramarz, his explanation for the ?Additional: $297? was that the computer calculates the costs, it is for sales tax (sales tax on $1,253+104+150 is $82.89), it is an additional warehouse cost, what does it matter as long as the figure on the quote matches the contract price and we are the lowest in town that is why we get so much business. 7. I felt that the sales process was very misleading and deceptive. 8. Dividing the ?Additional: $297? by the sq. ft. of granite we purchased raises the sq. ft. price of the granite from $38 to $47.01 which I know is not competitive with other sources. 9. Had the quote listed the ?Additional: $297? line item amount on the contract as the cost of the kitchen sink, sales tax, delivery mileage, etc., this review would have a totally different flavor and rating to it. Although I doubt I would have bought from there if I saw the line item costs first. In conclusion, as I said in the beginning, the finished product is excellent, the installers took their time and in my opinion did a thorough and professional job. So we love the end results. What we totally object to was what we consider less than open and honest sales practices. For these reasons, we DO NOT recommend this company.
As a followup to Granite's response, yes, the quote price and the contract price were the same, but the "Additional: $297" line item on the contract was not represented on the quote. On the quote, the $297 was never represented as a cost for measuring, etc., items that are included in other competitive quotes."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/wi/milwaukee/granite-factory-reviews-6553048.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Bedrock Granite","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"WI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Laura F."},"reviewBody":"I like the quality of the granite. Laree is a super person and helpful in the extreme. She does not argue with the customer but takes the customer's side in all matters. She is your partner in accomplishing your remodeling goals. If the quoted price is higher than your budget she will work with you to trim the expense by suggesting smart alternatives.
We were given a time-line of what events were to occur in sequence. Total time was estimated at 18 days. This estimate is a "perfect world" scenario of actual work days if all items arrive on time and workers are available. They don't and they aren't. Our actual displacement time from the work area was a couple of months. We moved cooking operations to our finished basement where we have a small refirgerator and utility sink. We ate out a lot.
Lack of communication between the scheduler in Madison and deliveries of needed materials made for inneficiencies that could have shortened the actual project timeline.
All Allen Kitchen and Bath employees and suppliers were courteous, helpful, skillfuland respectful of protecting your home. They cleaned up after themselves and offered really good suggestions for as the work proceeded.
It was fun to get up in the morning and see the progress that had been made the previous day. The finished product was very well done with quality materials and workmanship. We are delighted with our new transformation. You couldn't deal with nicer people.

(We found his company on Angie's List) Within a week he gave us a quote - final price contingent on grade of resurfacing material and Corian. Since we had our kitchen cabinets resurfaced and a new Corian countertop installed a few years ago, we pretty much knew what we were getting and the labor to install.
After we signed the contract, Bill visited us again with resurfacing samples and did a more detailed set of measurements. Also suggested we visit Ulig Custom Counters (Saukville, WI) to get ideas as to Corian grades, sink size, colors, etc. After our visit we made decisions on both resurface material and countertop/sink. Bill then gave us a final estimate which we approved.
Both Bill and an Ulig employee stopped by again to finalize exact measurements. Within two weeks, both resurfacing and countertop were installed. Took two and 1/2 days - no problems, not much dust, tad noisy at times (but no big deal). Everything cleaned up and all old materials taken away. Bill even gave us $50 credit due to our removing much of the old materials that he'd thought he'd have to do.
A local plumber (Mike the Plumber) that we have used for years will stop by in a day or so and hookup a new faucet and drain. "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/wi/sussex/kitchen-solvers-of-northern-milwaukee-reviews-387987.htm"},"position":10}]}

Great - replaced old laminate countertops with quartz - precision stone had a good selection on-sale. Job was on schedule and completed with little or no dust inside the house. They did laser measurements at our home and custom cut our pieces at their facility. Good, competent crew!

"It went great! The crew that did the work were diligent and professional, polite and courteous, respectable to me personally, to my home. They did a great job of cleaning everything up when the job was done. We had a couple of little kinks. They were taken care of quickly with apologies. The completed new bathroom is even more beautiful than I could have anticipated. Gorden was easy to work with. He explained everything and helped with decisions. He is respected by his crew. I'm completely pleased with the work performed. When I'm ready for another project G.R. Construction Co will get my call. Thanks Gordy and your crew for my beautiful new bathroom."

American Home Remodeling is a family owned full service remodeling company where the owners are the people you talk to for your project from start to finish. You don’t get bounced from department to department like with the big companies. We are involved every step of the way including putting on our tool belts on most projects. We are very proud to be at the very top of the remodelers on Angie’s list. We are there by providing our clients with High Quality work at competitive pricing. Our clients' reviews speak for themselves. The people we work for always feel that they have received more than their monies worth when we have completed their project. We leave the project having made new friends, and always end up with a new good reference. We hope to add you to our continual growing list of happy homeowners.
"My wife and I recently relocated from another state and had some extra money to invest in our new home, so we decided to partially finish our basement. While searching Google for basement remodeling services, we found two options. One was a company specializing solely in basement remodeling, but after scheduling a consultation, I quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit—every little detail came with an added cost, and there were too many unexpected “oh, by the way” expenses. Around the same time, we reached out to American Home Remodeling while gathering quotes. Nick met me at the house, and I walked him through the space, explained our vision, and shared our budget. From the start, he was straightforward and even suggested a few alternative approaches that, while slightly increasing our upfront cost, would ultimately save us time, money, and maximize the space. After reviewing their proposal, we signed a contract and moved forward with the project. What I appreciated most was how well-organized and efficient the entire process was—each step had a purpose and was completed on schedule. Permits were approved faster than expected, and construction began just before Thanksgiving. Since we were hosting family for the holiday, Scott and Nick were thoughtful enough to coordinate the dumpster’s arrival so it wouldn’t be an eyesore for our guests. Once the holiday passed, work resumed seamlessly. The project progressed smoothly—plumbing was completed on time, followed by framing, electrical, drywall/paint, flooring, and carpentry. Every contractor assigned to the job was professional, punctual, and knowledgeable, always available to answer my questions if Scott or Nick weren’t present. I was never left wondering what if—a few times, I had ideas mid-project, and Nick always provided his professional opinion before executing them flawlessly. The entire project lasted about three months, though it likely would have been completed sooner if not for the holiday season. Regardless, everything was strategically planned and executed on time. From a financial standpoint, the payment structure was transparent, with a clear breakdown of what percentage was due and when, based on project milestones. Scott would send a simple notification when a payment was due, but work continued without delay—even before payments were received. There was never any pressure, just a well-managed and trustworthy process. Fortunately, we had the funds and stayed on schedule with our payments. Prior to the basement project, we had already taken on a few other home improvements, including painting the interior and closing off a wall to add closet space. We hired another company for that work, but in hindsight, I wish we had discovered American Home Remodeling sooner to handle those projects as well. Overall, we had a fantastic experience with American Home Remodeling. Their professionalism, organization, and expertise made this project stress-free, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Highly recommend!"
