"Signed contract w/Encore for a 1-color Stargazer coating w/a lifetime warranty in May 23. When the install took place in SEP 23, it was immediately defective. Encore used 2 colors instead of the contracted single color, & visible flaws appeared across the deck within days. Within months, the coating began chipping & failing, the very problem we had specifically raised & Encore had dismissed. Over the next 19 months (SEP 23?MAY 25), we contacted Encore at least 14 times to report issues, share photos, & request repairs. Encore?s own reps inspected the site & acknowledged the work was below their standards. Yet the company repeatedly delayed action, offered inadequate fixes, & shifted explanations?from initially admitting a surface-prep failure to later, more than a year after our first complaint, claiming a moisture barrier issue. We tried to work through the BBB, IL AG (no Encore response). In OCT 25, Encore was found in civil court as negligent in installing the pool deck coating."

I have been doing professional installation of most types of flooring since 1990. I was trained as an apprentice in Germany after serving in the Army and continued in the trade after my return to the United States. I enjoy working with my customers from the beginning of the project to the end. I have years of experience and can help with any questions you have regarding various types of flooring. I accept cash or check payment upon completion. References and photos are available.

That evening, John had provided an estimate, which was extremely competitive with the other estimates we had obtained from other contractors. John offered to help us shop for flooring and even offered a discount at a specific store, if we chose to shop there. The work was scheduled within 2 weeks (!) and 3 days later, our first floor looks entirely new - just what we were hoping for. Great work, reliable and trustworthy contractor.
