"Buyer beware! Contractor showed up on time at the rental unit. I paid him over the phone for the amount he said I owed. He told me he made the dryer element repair, and then I learned he told the tenant he would return to make the repair. Next day we had the dryer vent cleaned and a bird nest was found in the vent. This contractor said there was no sign of a past or present problem with dryer itself. I then phoned Puget Sound Appliance (PSA) who said they would reverse the $567.79 charge (heating element and labor) on my charge card. This never happened. I challenged the expense with my card company. PSA then provided the card company with an invoice I had never before seen that included a penciled in no refund policy and a forged signature."

"Worst customer service imaginable. He brought my dryer at 10pm, after an agreed upon 11am delivery. He said there was no way he was getting behind it to hook it up (is there any other way?!). Worked for 3 days. I called about my warrantee, he said he's never heard of me. I might as well have thrown $300 in the garbage."

"Back in March 2020, we ordered custom cabinets for our Laundry Room remodel from John Adame at Parr Cabinets. In mid-May we picked up the cabinets at Parr and they came with the following mistakes (I have pictures of all these that I sent them): 1) We ordered shaker doors with the flat 90 degree edge on the inset (to match the style of the rest of our cabinets on the first floor of our house). We got shaker doors with a bevel in them instead. 2) We ordered a Sink Base with installed roll tray on bottom. There was no installed roll tray on bottom, nor was one included with all the boxes we picked up. 3) One of the four boards included for the box shelf I was going to build was the wrong size and it is a different wood species, not walnut (even though its box said walnut). 4) The repair kit sent was for pecan cabinets, not walnut. John and Parr agreed to fix all of the above issues, and supposedly then ordered the proper style cabinet doors and drawer fronts, the shelf board and repair kit. I went ahead and installed the cabinet shells we received based on their advice and door rebuild promise. In the beginning of July, we received the missing (uninstalled) sink base roll tray, the shelf board and the repair kit, but the cabinet doors and drawer fronts were beveled again, the same mistake made on the original order. Based on theit mistakes they refunded us $500 of the $3500 order and John and Parr agreed to reorder those doors and drawer fronts again. We have been patiently awaiting those, now it is December 2020 (9 months after the original order). In late October, they sent us a tracking order for those, which stated that they arrived last Tuesday. I tried e-mailing and calling John and Parr and have never gotten a response. Throughout this whole process I have sent John dozens of e-mails trying to get ETAs for the replacement orders and have to constantly remind him that we still don't have what we ordered from them. We were tired of all the waiting and constant reminders to them to treat us like a customer still waiting for our order. I filed a BBB complaint against them in early November, which they still have not responsed to. They are not a reputable company and you should not trust them to do anything they say they'll do, build your cabinets to the style you ordered, or handle any ensuing complaint from you properly."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

As tempting as it may seem to leave your oven racks in the oven during the self-clean cycle, we don’t recommend it. Stainless steel racks can crack or warp due to extreme temperatures. They may also damage the porcelain that lines your cavity by expanding and contracting throughout the cycle.

It depends on the specifics of your warranty. The motor is likely not covered if you’re working with a limited warranty. The same goes for other components like the compressor and evaporator coil. Some extended warranties will cover the blower and fan motor, so read the fine print before signing up. Additionally, the manufacturer may offer a warranty for the parts, including the motor, though there’s likely to be a strict time limit for this coverage.

Your broiler may not be working due to a faulty igniter, which is the piece responsible for lighting the gas. Other possible issues include a broken broil element, a problem with the thermostat, or a defective control board. If the gas supply isn’t correctly connected to the broiler, it can also create problems. When in doubt, call a pro to safely and effectively diagnose and fix the problem.

Ovens are measured by the width, height, and depth of the overall oven (typically in inches). You’ll want to measure the oven not only for the final space it’ll be installed in but also to make sure all the openings in your home to get to your kitchen can accommodate its size.

You can use the baking soda and vinegar mixture as described above, or you can use an oven cleaner you find at a hardware or big-box store. Just follow the label’s cleaning instructions and keep cleaners away from coils and other heating elements.
