"I have used Worley for a variety of projects with excellent results, but I particularly want to shine a light on the most recent toilet installation. Many years ago, another plumbing company told us that there was a problem pipe in a walls that clogged when we used the two fixtures upstairs for #2. To fix them would have cost us as much as $15000 between the actual repair and putting in new drywall and wallpaper. So, we had a couple of guys come to check out the problem, and they thought the problem was that the two upstairs toilets didn't have enough pressure, and there were modern ones using the same amount of water per flush but had much stronger flushes. Combined, they cost less than $1500. So, they installed them last week and they are working wonderfully! So, Worley's probably save as $13,000 or more. That would be reason enough to hire these guys."

"I have had Lighthouse Mechanical do some work in the past and their fee seemed to be reasonable. They were helpful, polite and did good work. However, I am now questioning their fee and service. I called them on a Saturday because my system was not working. The tech was able to come out for a $99.00 diagnostic fee which I thought was reasonable for a weekend and with cold weather starting the next evening needed to get the system fixed. The tech was at my place for a minimum of 3 hours and could not locate the issue. The tech was very nice and tried hard. He even called another technician on the phone for assistance. He said he would need to come back the next day with another tech to figure out the issue. The next morning, Sunday, they both came and after more than an hour determined it was the defrost board on the heat pump. As parts places were closed they would need to come back on Monday to install a new board. They were able to do a bypass and get the heat pump to run in the meantime. The tech said the board would run $200 to $300 tops to install price. The office calls me Monday morning and it will be $408 plus the $99 diagnostic fee, Its extremely cold outside so can't really argue and price it out elsewhere. So that Monday after the call about the price another tech shows up with the board and completes the install successfully. Again nice tech even when he had to be outside working in the cold. I receive my invoice and later that day I take a moment to check the part number of the board against the internet to check pricing... $115 was the highest price I could fine. Called the person from the office to see why I was charged $408 plus the $99 diagnostic fee as this didn't add up. I understand mark-up but that's a big mark up on a $115 part and less than an hour’s labor to install it. The person that gave me the price was out and would call me back. No call back that day so I called again the next day and she answered. Her response to me is that they charge a flat fee not based on the part cost or actual installation fee but a national average. And also as they are a Trane dealer and I have a Carrier unit it is more expensive. Customers need to be aware of this. Won't be calling them again. Nice techs but 5 hours plus over two days to figure out the issue and their pricing scheme is not fair. I will check elsewhere next time."

"Timeliness was not their strong suit...called at 930 am to say they would arrive shortly and got here at 1210. Once they arrived they did not stop until the install was complete. Clean up was commendable."

"It went well-Ended up good. Had a bit of miscommunication with the installer resulting in a perfectly functional but asthetically disasterous install. Called the sales person back and he was gracious, polite & said he would discuss it internally and get back to us. A crew came back and redid the install. All is well-in the nick of time for summer! Thanks Brad & Russell's!"

"Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.
I highly recommend Jim to anyone that needs these type services.

"We had our ancient oil-fired boiler replaced with a natural gas, modern unit and separate hot water heater. On the one hand, it seemed like anything that could go wrong, did go wrong. On the other, we are very happy with the end result. The reason for my excellent rating is that this company responded to all of the issues quickly and decently. When a water leak under the house and another issue caused us to be without water (and hot water) for a night, they sent us to a hotel and paid for it. The owner, Andy Anderson, is a stand up guy. The (many!) extra pieces of work that had to be done (some possibly caused by the workers, but equally possibly due to old piping in a 96 year old house) were done at no extra cost to us, because he stands by his company, the quality of work, and cares about his company's reputation. If one guy didn't know how to do something, another was sent to deal with it, and make it right. Andy saw to the final check personally, which meant a lot to us- the end result is a perfectly functioning boiler and hot water heater. We would highly recommend this company and we are very happy."

"There was only one hang up. When I contacted them through e-mail I indicated that I wanted to talk about installing an antique wood burning stove in addition to the chimney inspection and cleaning. The appointment was made for the afternoon on a certain day. But, the guys called that morning and left a message on my voicemail saying they could come early. I did not get the voicemail and they showed up early anyway. I was not home but my mother was there. Unfortunately, these guys did not get the word from the scheduler in the office that I wanted to talk about the installation of the wood burning stove in addition to having the chimney cleaned. So they came did they work and left. I called the workers back (since I had their phone number from the voicemail) and communicated my annoyance at the schedule change. The guy was very apologetic and offered to come back though he was no longer available at the scheduled time which I had blocked off on my calendar.
However, we ended up talking about the project over the phone and he was able to give me all the information I needed about the potential installation over the phone. He was very knowledgable and helpful. So, I'd like to give them a "B" for punctuality though that doesn't seem to really fit the situation. So they get all As despite this little hitch.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.

The absence of heating or hot water, unusual noises like banging or gurgling, and visible water leakage are key signs. Abnormal boiler pressure, flame irregularities (for gas boilers), or pilot light issues may also signal trouble. Frequent cycling, soot or staining, and unusual odors, particularly gas-like smells, should not be ignored. Modern boilers often display error codes or lockout mode upon detecting issues. Uneven heating across radiators and rising energy bills without increased usage can further point to problems. Prompt attention to these signs is essential to prevent further damage and ensure safety.

Coolant and antifreeze are technically not the same thing. The difference between the two is the ratio of water to other chemicals. True antifreeze is mainly made up of either ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, while coolant comprises one part antifreeze and one part water. However, the terms coolant and antifreeze are often used interchangeably, even by pros.

Probably not. Moving a boiler to a new location is a very different prospect from replacing it in the same spot, and significantly more expensive. Plus, boilers are typically carefully positioned in proximity to pipes and radiators when installed. Homeowners may want to move boilers to free up space, prevent freezing problems that have happened in winter, or solve a noise issue—but it’s a much more costly proposition.

When winter rolls around, and you turn the heat on for the first time in a year, it’s normal to sense a light odor. This could smell a little like burning because some dust has gathered in the heating unit over the warm months and will fade away shortly after. However, there are some smells you should watch out for and take caution around: an egg-like sulfur smell or an electrical burn odor would indicate there’s something wrong. Turn it off and call a professional for maintenance as soon as possible.
