"The plumber and his assistant plumber were punctual, polite, and did a job we couldn't get other plumbers to do for a reasonable price, or even do at all -- namely, move a gas line while the gas was on, since our building wouldn't turn it off. These guys did the job for a reasonable price. Would recommend."

"This plumbing service comes highly recommended! When faced with a potentially expensive water main issue, the plumber worked to minimize costs by repairing instead of replacing the entire main. The plumber showed excellent knowledge of the area and its plumbing, which led to efficient problem-solving. The plumber was incredibly responsive, addressed concerns without delay, and completed the work professionally and efficiently. The work was done without wasting time, and the results were flawless. If you want an honest, skilled, and cost-conscious plumber, look no further!"

"I would give Terence 10 stars if I could. I’m 73 and seen a lot of plumbers and repair people in my life. Although the job wasn’t a big one, Terence was professional, knew his craft. We talked about how he grew up in a time when people spent years as journeymen and on the job to become master plumbers, and he definitely qualified as just that. The price Terence charged was reasonable, and he set up and took things down with care and meticulous cleanliness. The area was definitely cleaner when he left than when he arrived. If you don’t hire Terence the next time you need a REAL plumber then you’re not getting the best."

"Excellent experience. They were willing to install a unit I purchased from Home Depot. They picked up the unit from the store, removed the old one, and install the new one in just about 2 hours. And they literally charged me half of what other plumbers were quoting me. Outstanding."

"Jimmy and his team went well beyond the call of duty and only charged me the Angie list special price even though they spent an extra appointment and extra labor hours to fix my leaky toilet.  I really appreciated the professionalism, knowledge, know-how, skills and persistence to fix the problem.  In addition, Jimmy and his team have something many contractors sorely lack, that is, communication and people skills. I always received a timely response to my phone calls and messages and, no matter how uninformed my questions, an explanation and a recommendation on how to solve the problem - something very important to me as a busy professional.
Thank you Jimmy G. and team- you are my new go-to plumbers!!!

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can absolutely remove rust from a bathtub drain, and doing so can improve the appearance of your tub. Combine three parts baking soda with one part vinegar and mix into a paste. Apply the paste over the drain and let it sit for about an hour before rinsing with cold water. Repeat the process if some rust stains remain. If the stains return, consider installing a water softener, as ongoing issues with bathtub drain rust usually indicate hard water.

Toilet handles can get stuck for a couple of reasons, but it’s commonly an issue with the chain. Remove the lid and check the chain’s connection, running from the flapper to the handle arm. Sometimes the chain gets snagged on or against another part of the tank.

The chain might not have the right tension. For example, a chain that’s too short can make the handle feel stuck. Check that there’s some slack in the chain. Old, worn-out flappers can get stuck, too. In this case, you’ll need to see which size toilet flapper you need.

You could be smelling sewer gas in your kitchen because of a dry P-trap, clogged vent pipe, or leaking plumbing seals. If you smell a rotten egg odor, check your sink’s P-trap and plumbing connections first. A clogged or damaged vent pipe can trap sewer gas and push it back into your kitchen through the plumbing pipes. Loose or deteriorated seals around drainpipes can also allow sewer gas to leak out. If you can’t find the source, call a local plumber for expert help.

You can and should use a hose to fill a hot tub. There shouldn’t be anything special about the hose other than it shouldn’t be damaged. Kinks or leaks could slow down the filling process. Attach the hose to the nearest spigot and get the water flowing.

Yes, in most cases, a plumber can increase your water pressure. However, a plumber isn't always needed. If you want to potentially save some money on a plumber, consider troubleshooting using the above steps. If your problem still isn't fixed, then it's probably time to call a pro to fix it for you.
