"Al was fantastic! He clearly explained that my fireplace was shutting off as a safety feature due to low oxygen levels. He also reassembled the logs in the firebox and showed me the proper way to start and stop the fireplace. Highly recommend his service!"

"Appleton Campbell just did a complicated 2-day gas furnace/AC unit installation attached our home. It was, probably, the most professional and well-handled vendor experience I have ever had, particularly with some complications that occurred due to things found after the old system was removed. From the sales process to the pre-project staff to the office staff who alerted me each time the crew was heading to my home, to the on-site crew of Mike W., Danny R. and Jake A., the experience was A+. Even when the one issue was presented, they came up with a solution and I remained confident they would. They were extremely clean and neat, during and after they were done. I did getting three bids for this and they were slightly higher than the others, but I felt more comfortable and frankly, I believe I got my moneys worth as they also had to fabricate and redo a complicated return and vent line, and they also moved the gas line, refrigerant line and other conduits/poles/switches to a more convenient area than with my prior (similar but older) system. In short, I felt like the value was there. They also included a Home Savings Agreement for one year and left me with a consolidated notebook of all relevant documents. Cheapest is not always better, and with all they did, the pricing was very, very close. I've known AC for years in the community, but only used them on a couple of occasions. I've become a huge fan and will use them again (I have other systems!)."

"Excellent work done by the professional gas plumber Jamie who fixed several gas leaks in the basement of the house by replacing several old pipes with union system pipes. In time, professional, and state of the art work. Highly recommended!"

"When we experienced flickering lights and partial blackouts in our home, Beacon Homes Services sent someone to our home in Rockville right away. Jacob quickly and expertly diagnosed the problem, which turned out to be our electric meter. He and his colleagues in the office contacted Pepco and explained it was an emergency, complete with photos, and we were able to get a Pepco emergency crew out to do a temporary repair within 2.5 hours. Jacob had to leave for another job, but he took the time to phone us to check on the status of Pepco's repair at the end of the day. He also made some wiring improvements to our electrical panel while we were waiting for Pepco, and the rates were quite reasonable. I would definitely hire Beacon Home Services again."

"This was the only company that I actually spoke with on Friday. I called a couple of additional places Saturday morning and decided to go with Pipe Doctor. Initially Gary stated that they could come out Monday because it was the weekend. But when I said that I really would like to get it done today- he worked to make that happen and did just that. Luis came out this morning to get a better idea of the situation and got to their supplier by noon. He was back here by 12:30ish. Another employee, Wayne I believe, came out and they were done by 2:30. Once done, he explained some things to me about the system and its maintenance. They were courteous, professional and efficient. I received another quote was for 1800. Both Pipe Doctor and the other business took into consideration the location of the water heater (tighter fit/squeeze) and something to do with the gas line. So I felt comfortable knowing that he/they were not trying to "get me". The other company could not match Gary's quote of 1500.00. Coincidentally, my neighbor also replaced his water heater this morning but went through Roto Rooter. His price: 1800.00 That was the cheapest quote he received off of Home Advisor. Another thing that sets them apart is the fact that they not only have a warranty for the parts, but also the labor for 6 years too. I would definitely use this company again without a doubt."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

A few potential problems can cause your gas grill to stop working:

  • Burners aren’t properly aligned.

  • Food debris is clogging the burners.

  • Hose connections may be blocked.

  • Burners may not be getting enough gas.

  • Gas valve is not working properly.

If you’re experiencing any of those problems with your gas grill, hire a local grill repair professional to inspect your grill for issues and implement a plan to resolve them.

You can maneuver your gas grill into place, but you cannot connect the grill to your gas source yourself. All municipalities mandate that a certified plumber carry out this work, so you’ll have to reach out to a plumber or a gas grill installation company in your area. Given how dangerous a gas leak can be, gas lines and connections are highly regulated, so you’ll need a professional’s help and a permit to install a gas grill.

Yes, you can lay a gas grill flat during transportation. Laying it flat can help prevent it from moving around the truck during the journey. It’s still advisable to secure the grill with bungee cords, just in case.

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.

Appliances typically connected to a gas line include gas stoves, water heaters, furnaces, and gas fireplaces. Essentially, any appliance in your home that uses gas needs to be connected to a gas line, which connects your home with the main gas line owned and operated by your gas company.
