Being a MVP customer was time for Heating/Cooling safety inspections. Kevin Stanley was the HVAC Service Tech assigned to the job. He went over a few issues on our older unit he found during his inspection. I never felt pressured to have the work done and so glad he resolved them on the same day. He definitely went out of his way doing a great job. He explained everything to me that he was doing and also answering all the questions I had. The price was reasonable. Will definitely call Appleton Campbell when needing home repairs, this is our 3rd project they’ve taken care of. Thanks again

The Stapleton Team. Made quick contact, scheduled around my time frame, and delivered a skilled tech to solve a basic problem that I couldn't fix. They also recommended additional settings at no cost and proposed other services the company has as a separate fee for service.

it was great. Matt came out and priced the system. then some time later, jose and stuart came in to install. they informed me of potential non-hvac issues they noticed and mentioned that small changes had to be made due to layout and parts. which I was ok with. the hvac works great

Work was done the same day. Cost a little more than I was expecting but Carter laid out what was being done and the long term benefits of fixing it correctly in a way that was easy to understand. 10/10

Twelve and a half years ago, Appleton Campbell installed my previous complete sump pump system (with battery backup and pit-to-discharge piping) for $1051, a reasonable amount. A recent inspection noted age-related problems with the battery backup of that system. I was quoted $2693 (with Membership Value Program discount) for a replacement sump pump system. This increase in price (from $1051 to $2653) far exceeds what could be expected due to cumulative inflation over the past twelve years plus COVID-driven increases over the past several years. However, I've been hiring Appleton Campbell for a variety of jobs over the past 20 years and had always (until now) had good experiences with them. So, in the end, I decided to hire them to come back (today) to do the work. After the initial work was completed, the technician noticed water leaking from the discharge piping when the new sump pump engaged. There had been no leakage with my previous sump pump system. The leakage was new, apparently caused by the work done today to replace the system. I'll give the technician credit for noticing the leak and bringing it to my attention. However, his manager, instead of making this right, instead quoted an additional $1203 (with Membership Value Program discount) to fix the problem. There are two bottom lines. First, for unknown reasons, fairly recently, Appleton Campbell significantly increased their prices beyond what can be explained by inflation, and they now provide relatively low value for the price. Second, Appleton Campbell's quality standards no longer include making things right, when their work causes a problem. Instead, they now expect customers to pay not only for the work originally bid but also for any additional work required to fix problems caused by their work. In general, the technicians who work at Appleton Campbell are professional, courteous, and they do good work. However, managers at this company have changed pricing and quality policy to the detriment of customers. If and when you hire them, do so with open eyes, don't expect good work for a good price, and don't expect them to be more ethical than a fly-by-night operation.

Chat Hannabass did a excellent job..My only complaint is the cost for such a easy simple job..It took him less than 2 hour to complete..First he had to run to Lowes for parts..which no doubt cost less than $100.00... I was charged $965.00 ...I had to do it that day because of the slow drip to my basement...I believe because I am a woman living alone and a man is not here to dispute the charge...plus them knowing-what else can u do...Wait days for a reasonable plumber and have water keep dripping? It not just that company it's almost all of them that figure u are a woman...what do u know.... I guess the next time I will have to hire a man to be here..

I have used AC in the past for a HVAC problem. Their solution? Replace the furnace. Incredible, but the worst part was telling me all the perils of just fixing the issue I had doing a hard sell on us spending more money than needed and justifying buying a service plan. Rude about the whole approach. I thought I would try the plumbing services. Same deal. Pipe is deteriorating! Metal flakes coming out of spout! Bah. Sent them on their way after paying $49 trip fee and after listening to their speil. Their estimate was $600 (including trip fee). Got it fixed for $200 with a smaller firm that actually just wanted to do the work and help. I will never call AC for anything ever again and would recommend you do not either.

The company technicians, Steven, James and Zack were very professional and competent. They did excellent job in both removing the old unit and installing the new one. In addition to this job, we have used Appleton Campbell for several projects over the past couple of years, to include, installing a back up propane generator, installing replacement electrical lighting, and replacing a hot water heater. The company and their personal, to include both field and office individuals, were very competent and courteous. We highly recommend this company to other individuals.

Charged $540 to snake a line. Their first crew refused to snake the line insisting I had to have the septic tank pumped (it was pumped 30 days prior). I relented and had it pumped again, new plumber sent out 2 days after tank pumping. He never took anything out of his truck and went straight to my cleanout and claimed the tank was full. Ran the camera so fast that I could not see anything or make out where he was in the line. Spent 30+ minutes with the plumber arguing with us saying he was not going to snake the line unless we had the tank pumped again. Then he said our tank must be fractured - it is not. Then he said the lines must be frozen - they were not. I kept trying to explain to him that if he snaked the line and the tank was indeed backed up (I believe it had a clog beyond the cleanout), the fluid would shoot out the cleanout since the sink is one full level higher than the cleanout - I don't understand why that was impossible for him to comprehend. The guy who is supposed to be a plumber didn't seem to get it. He was very rude to me twice. I told him if he was going to refuse to snake the line that we had already paid for, I was going to need to go have a chargeback done on the money I paid. He said, "Don't threaten me." And at one point I said, I don't understand why you won't just snake the line. His response was, "I know you don't understand what I am saying". Extremely rude. Finally he relented, he tried to snake the line, got 5 feet and he couldn't make the first turn. One of the snarky comments he made to us was how we had probably never snaked a line and he had snaked many so he knew what he was talking about. Well so much for that. He gave up after 5 minutes. Left us with a backed up kitchen sink that had been backed up for days and they already had our money. The second plumber said, "The first guys couldn't have gotten past that first corner because they had a bigger snake." Yup exactly. That goes to show that they never snaked the line. The next day we called another company, they came out, had the line cleared of two clogs in under an hour and the total was $168.00 which goes to show you what a rip off Appleton is, they couldn't even do the job. Also, unlike what Appleton plumber told me, when they cleared the clogs the sink quickly drained, the clogs did not reform as Appleton said they would, the water was run nonstop at full speed for over 10 minutes after the cleared the clog to make sure it was working. If the septic had been backed up, it would have been gushing out the cleanout. That didn't happen. So much for Appleton expertise. As far as I'm concerned, they ripped us off and took our money and did nothing but be rude to us. Never again and I'm telling everyone I know in the county about my experience. I'm on a lot of boards.

The night before my biannual HVAC check up, I found my basement had some flooding. I have been working with Appleton Campbell for a YEAR and the experiences have been unwanted but exceptional. No one wants to have their sump pump die, but mine did this week. Today Ethan and David came by to check on the new furnace and airconditiong system I had installed last year. THANK GOD they came today. It was a rescheduled visit, but I found out my basement had flooded a bit. I had my HVAC unit inspected and now they are installing a new sump pump Monday. I was hoping Appleton and Campbell could provide guidance as to what was happening and who to call to fix it. They are doing everything. Last year I was purchasing my Mom's house as she had passed away. A week before closing the HVAC unit went out. They came out and a day later I had a team of people replacing the system. I have natural gas and pay a monthly fee instead of paying a huge amount the months usage spikes. This new HVAC system is so efficient that I had 4.5 months where I didn't have to pay a bill because I ended up with a large credit.

Appleton Campbell just did a complicated 2-day gas furnace/AC unit installation attached our home. It was, probably, the most professional and well-handled vendor experience I have ever had, particularly with some complications that occurred due to things found after the old system was removed. From the sales process to the pre-project staff to the office staff who alerted me each time the crew was heading to my home, to the on-site crew of Mike W., Danny R. and Jake A., the experience was A+. Even when the one issue was presented, they came up with a solution and I remained confident they would. They were extremely clean and neat, during and after they were done. I did getting three bids for this and they were slightly higher than the others, but I felt more comfortable and frankly, I believe I got my moneys worth as they also had to fabricate and redo a complicated return and vent line, and they also moved the gas line, refrigerant line and other conduits/poles/switches to a more convenient area than with my prior (similar but older) system. In short, I felt like the value was there. They also included a Home Savings Agreement for one year and left me with a consolidated notebook of all relevant documents. Cheapest is not always better, and with all they did, the pricing was very, very close. I've known AC for years in the community, but only used them on a couple of occasions. I've become a huge fan and will use them again (I have other systems!).
