"I can't recommend DB's plumbing highly enough. Our garbage disposal stopped working. We know absolutely nothing about garbage disposals and thought we needed a new one (a lot of $$$ in the post-holiday season when we are trying to budget). But Chris, the plumber, got the old one working again. He could easily have said, "Yup, you need a new one." Instead, he was honest to a fault. Can't say enough good things about this company and we will use them again. The office was also really courteous and easy to work with ."

"Great. Didn't need to cut drywall (this time). Repair was made to fix leaking. Experienced plumber cleaned surrounding area to remount and seal to house siding. It's much better than before! Would hire again to fix all plumbing issues. Great service!"

"First rate emergency replacement of a burst residential main water pipe in the front yard. Nate provided a very competitive bid and highly competent service to complete work in a very short period of time. Surface disturbance was minimal and cleaned up on project completion. County inspections passed flawlessly. No reservations in recommending Clearwater Plumbing & Repair, Inc., to meet the plumbing repair needs of HomeAdvisor subscribers."

"Incredible service and value!! Our hot water heater went out in. Thursday and our Home Warranty Service could not even get me an appointment to assess it until the next Monday. Called RightNow Plumbing at 1115 on Monday and they had a new hot water heater installed by 1515. Very professional job. They were also the cheapest if all the Plumbers I called. One plumber quoted me $4000 for the job; RightNow did it for almost half of that!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Ignacio and Devon came by to reinstall a toilet that got loose off the flange. A previous plumber at another company installed it incorrectly a year or two back. They also did a Water Heater flush. They were quick, precise, knowledgeable, polite and friendly. They even made sure to clean anything they touched. There was an electrical issue they weren't sure about, but they stayed to make sure it got resolved. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I'll be hiring 1Stop Mechanical for other plumbing projects. Prices are very reasonable as well."

"We want to express how pleased we are with the design advice, ongoing communication, and craftsmanship of the staff and crew at VKB. Our job was a bit more complex as it involved floor plan changes with plumbing moves. Jason was always accessible to answer our questions, insisting we could call him anytime night or day. Each morning, Ervin and the crew asked if we had any concerns about the job and even anticipated some of our questions. There were a couple structural and design challenges, but the team came through with viable solutions. The crew was neat and courteous, taking measures to protect our floors and to keep the dust down, and thoroughly cleaning-up each day. With all the details involved in a project like this, there could be many chances for miscommunication and misunderstanding. But the VKB team, with their open line of communication, made sure every detail was understood and taken care of. We are extremely happy with our beautiful new bathroom!"

"I reached out to The Waterline Group (TWG) after getting a quote from one of the large plumbing companies in the area. The problem was a bad Backflow Preventer. The quote was very high and included work that didnâ t need to be done. TWG inspected the problem and got me on the schedule quickly for $900 less than what I was previously quoted. The TWG technicians were very polite and efficient and everything has been working great ever since. TWG exceeded my expectations and they will be my first call the next time I have a plumbing problem."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Different plumbing systems may sound different when a pipe is about to burst, so sounds alone are not a definitive indication of a burst pipe. However, dripping sounds indicate a leaking pipe, and there’s a thin line between a small leak and a bursting overflow. Metallic sounds like clanging and rattling are common when a pipe bursts, though they can also indicate a normally functioning hot water system.

You’ll likely pay between $300 and $450 to unclog your toilet with Roto-Rooter. However, the price could change depending on if the clog has caused a lot of damage, which your plumbing pro will want to inspect during your service appointment. Keep in mind that you won’t get a quote from Roto-Rooter over the phone. They have to send a pro out for an in-person cost estimate. You can also attempt to snake your own clog for a lot less, and simple drain snakes cost no more than $50.

Yes! Toilet paper can be flushed if you use a septic tank. While unique toilet papers designed to be used with septic tanks are available, many people have no problem flushing regular toilet paper with a septic tank, so long as you don’t flush too much toilet paper all at once. Do not flush any type of baby wipes or bathroom wipes, even if they say “flushable.”

There’s no way around it—a burst pipe is often a homeowner’s worst nightmare, and the situation can range from semi-serious to dire. If you don’t catch the leak, it can lead to thousands of dollars worth of water damage.

At best, you’ll notice a burst pipe quickly, turn off your water supply, and use a wet vacuum to clean up minor flooding. A plumber can repair the pipe, and you won’t be left with a major bill. At worst, severe water damage can collapse floors, ceilings, walls, and foundations, sometimes leading to major repairs and renovations.

Walk-in tubs have multiple sealing mechanisms to prevent leaks. However, like any bathroom fixture, they can develop leaks over time due to wear, poor installation, or structural issues. Choosing a tub from a reputable manufacturer and ensuring proper installation by experienced professionals can minimize the likelihood of leaks. Additionally, regular inspections and addressing any problems promptly can help maintain the integrity of the walk-in tub and prevent potential problems.
