"We hired Kustom Floors again to renovate our newly purchased, 1600 square foot, three-bedroom condo. They did a masterful job! - They perfectly refinished the existing parquet flooring and created new parquet flooring to match it. - They installed new, engineered wood flooring in the basement, even leveling the concrete to do so. - They installed new drywall and insulated everything. - They installed new railings and reinforced the staircase. - They repainted the entire apartment. - And much, much more! Literally, too much to name! I simply could not be happier with the work they did! In truth, I am not surprised by this outcome. We had used Kustom Floors a year before to renovate our two-bedroom condo. They did a magnificent job there as well. Their attention to detail, their competence, and their consideration simply cannot be oversold. In short, I recommend Kustom Floors in the strongest possible terms. Hire them! You will not be disappointed."

"After 18 years of good care, we decided to change our home carpet. This is the second time, D&S Floor Covering has help me with carpet projects. We came back because of the great job Masood and his team did for us the first time with our basement project. We are so glad we came back to D&S Flooring Covering! They did an amazing job!!!! We feel like in a new home! The team was great, very professional, on-time and they left everything so clean. Thank you Masood, and to your team for the AMAZING job you did!"

"Brian from Torres flooring reached out to me immediately after I submitted my request, and quickly gave me a quote and did the repair that day! We had a small section of our vinyl floor cut out by our previous owners to install a wooden railing. We removed the railing and needed the flooring patched with some of the flooring we had stored away. I contacted so many floor companies who said the job was 'too risky' and declined the job, or told us we needed to replace the entire floor (for like $5k). Brian was super friendly and said he could do the job no problem, understood what we needed done, and did a great job! We were seriously getting desperate and didn't know if we were ever going to get our floor fixed. HUGE thank you to Brian for the expertly rescuing our floor!"

"Great price, good quality installation and friendly folks! I will definitely do business with them in the future. BTW - they removed an existing wall to wall carpet and feathered in hardwood flooring to match existing hardwood in my family room and office. All work completed in a little over half a day and they cleaned up! Awesome!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

To properly maintain and care for hardwood floors without damaging the finish, establish a regular cleaning routine. Sweep with a broom or microfiber dust mop daily, or vacuum weekly, to remove dirt and debris that can scratch the surface; be sure to clean in tight corners and under furniture. For a deeper clean, use a damp mop with a cleaner specifically designed for hardwood floors, but avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive water, as this can damage the wood. You can further protect your floors by placing mats at entryways to catch dirt and moisture and putting felt pads under furniture legs to prevent scratches. For long-term care, refinish the floors as needed to keep them looking their best.

If you want your carpet to last as long as possible, then yes, you need to install carpet padding. Carpet padding creates a layer of protection between the back of your carpet and the floor beneath it, which decreases friction and reduces wear and tear. Aside from that, carpet padding also helps absorb noise and makes your carpet feel more comfortable underfoot.

Like any other type of flooring, you will need to keep up with regular maintenance on your epoxy floors to keep them in the best shape possible; however, it is not like hardwood floors inside a house, which require special care and more consistent maintenance.

Just make sure you use the right cleaning tools and solutions. Avoid using harsh tools like scrub brushes or hard-bristled brooms. You should also skip cleaners that are highly acidic, including white vinegar.

If you have a concrete subfloor, you must secure the carpet padding with adhesive or glue. However, if you have a wooden subfloor, use staples instead. Removing a glued-down carpet can be difficult and time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid glue when possible.

The type of flooring you choose for your bedroom comes down to personal preference. Many people prefer carpet over hard-surface flooring types (such as hardwood, tile, or stone) in their bedrooms because it’s warmer and cozier. Carpeting also helps muffle sound, which may benefit those who have trouble sleeping.

On the other hand, some folks prefer the look of hardwood over carpet. People with allergies might also opt for non-carpeted flooring since carpet fibers can attract dust, dander, and other allergens.
