In the process they had to replace the subflooring and finger in the new hardwood with the old hardwood. The result...you can't tell the difference between the 50 year old flooring and the brand new flooring 🙂."

We investigated other remodeling companies but chose Basement Remodeling after our discussions with Eric, in part because we believed we could count on their expertise in handling the inevitable quirks of renovating a 70 year old house. The whole job cost $10,680 for hardwood upstairs the stairs to the first floor. We paid $2100 for high quality vinyl for the stairs going to the basement with the landing, plus tax. We worked with [*** Link removed ***] They have a tiny store at 5622 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039. Or call 703-764-9330 and they will come to your house. I got 2 other quotes from well-known companies. The estimates for the exact same job were $18,473 and $22,250. The company with the highest quote was very nice and informative. He told me his crews have been with him for 20 years. I was tempted, but just couldn’t pay close to double the price. The 3 man crew that came Monday worked FAST. The lead man has been with his boss for exactly 20 years, since he was 16 years old. He did all of the stair work, beautifully. The second day he came alone and finished the job. We Love our new floors!"
