"Awful company, tried to scam me. The guy came here and took a look, tried to charge me $1600 for a single part replacement. He said it is not worth it so insist me to replace the whole furnace and AC, which would easily cost over $10k. I let him go and did my own research. I found the broken part and purchased a similar unit for $269 (a blow motor), replaced it and now my AC is running again. Especially this technician made me feel really uncomfortable. As soon as he arrived, he told me that my furnace and AC were very old and full of problems. He even started fiddling with another completely unrelated AC unit for quite a while, then told me that one also had all sorts of issues. Between the lines, it was clear he was just trying to get me to replace everything so they could make more money. I told him the other unit had no problems. He said he didn't know, so I went and turned the switch on--only to find the unit wasn't running at the time. I told him it had been working just fine earlier. Then he said, "oh yeah? so why isn't it running?" For a moment, I even wondered if he had sabotaged something while I wasn't looking... Thankfully, he was just being a jerk with his words and didn't actually do anything. If he had done something, this wouldn't just be a one-star review situation. Yes, also, Oh, and one more thing. When it came time to charge me, he asked for $99. But I found them through a promotion that clearly states new customers only pay $59. He made no effort to mention that. It was only after I brought it up that he adjusted the price. Classic predatory behavior. Anyway, try avoiding this predatory company."

"Takeaways: - His demeanor was rude for no discernable reason. - His service didn't solve or correctly diagnose the problem. Rudeness: I'll start with the rudeness. At the end of the service, he said "Now, make me a check" in a gruff tone. I'm quoting verbatim. There's not reason for people to speak to each other like that - just none at all. I don't mind paying people for good work. I snaked the drain twice and was happy to have a "professional" on the job! Toxic masculinity. Misdiagnosis: For $375, he put 35-feet of snake down my kitchen sink. I had snaked 25-feet myself. He misdiagnosed a gurgling drain and wanted to pass me off to another plumber for a roof vent inspection. So basically no value, here. The next plumber: I called a larger outfit who did a hydrojet + a camera inspection for $575. This provided a thorough cleaning of the pipes and also a correct diagnosis of the problem, which was a bend in the pipes. An extra $200 for a hydro service and a chance to actually see the problem is a no brainer. I'd just go with a larger service."

A 3rd generation family owned and operated company. We offer over the countersales of plumbing materials for both residential and commercial plumbing. We are known for having at our disposal the "hard to find" repair part. Additionally, we offer service crews for your plumbing needs, either scheduled based around your schedule or based on emergency if needed. We make every effort to provide service you need the same day. We do not charge extra for the trip nor do we have service diagnostic fees.

"Charged $180 per hour and said it took 5 hours to install a toilet and a faucet. The total bill was over $900 and we supplied the new toilet and faucet. Just the labor was $900!!' It seems to me, if you are charging $180 per hour, you should know how to replace a toilet in less time. Said they would call me back at 8am to discuss and never called back. By the way, this service call was during normal business hours. Not an emergency call, not a weekend call, not an evening call. |"

I am a small electrical contractor located in Lake Ridge Va with 26 years working as a Electrician in Northern Va. I guess what separates me from the bigger guys is customers have the opportunity to talk to and interact with that person that actually comes to your home and does the work, as opposed to a office manager who sends who knows who to your home with who knows what type of experience and expertise. This also enables me to get prices low. Most estimates can be given over phone.

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

If you notice any changes to the water coming from your well, consider that a sign to get a well inspection. For example, if the water is foul-smelling, bad-tasting, cloudy, or discolored, you should call a pro. It’s also a good idea to schedule an inspection if you observe a loss of water pressure, broken equipment, loss of well capacity, or other unusual signs.

Servicing includes cleaning filters and coils, checking coolant levels, and inspecting electrical connections.

Normally, when your well pump turns on or off, you’ll hear a small click. This isn’t anything to worry about, but it can be a problem if it’s clicking continuously. This can indicate that the well pump is short cycling—the pump continuously turns on and off.

This can wear out the motor and provide uneven water flow. If this happens, you may need to get it looked at by a well pump professional to see if you need to repair the switch or pump.

If you have a self-cleaning washing machine but you’re still seeing lint, your water pump filter might be clogged. To clean it, you should unscrew the drain hose, then remove the water pump filter. From there, you can inspect it and clean it with warm water before replacing it. Check to be sure your washing machine is functioning by running a short cycle.

Well pumps need power to run, so they can’t function without electricity. If your power shuts off, there can sometimes be enough pressure in the water tank to allow for a lucky flush or a bit of tap water—but this won’t last long. It’s a good idea to have a backup generator or an alternative power source like solar if you’re worried about losing power.
