After three days, they boarded up a huge hole in the basement and left for the weekend. Temperatures on this weekend were projected to be in the teens. We were assured that no hole would be cut unless the window was going to be installed on that day, LIE.
We had been told by Mark that there would be no requirement to remove the Deck Steps. They were removed, without any warning. LIE
Instead of working to install the window, they continued working on the existing window install. This particular window installation went very badly when they decided to cut into the wood part of the foundation to install the window, added that they made a mistake and had to build a header. What? Waiting on structural engineer from contractor to determine level of damage to the structural integrity of the home. This level of negligence is unacceptable.
We were told that 36" windows would be installed, 30" windows were installed.
I had asked about code requirements, and the answers could not be provided to me. I spent some time looking into these codes that are readily available online. I personally found a basic code violation in a matter of minutes. After clearly documenting the inadequacies of the work performed, I had to discontinue working with Mr. Hall. He had no acceptable answers for the shoddy workmanship that was clearly on display in our home.
We immediately checked online for permits, all required permits were NOT pulled, and the only one that was pulled was not approved until days after they started working.
Not only am i fighting to get my money returned for the work done, but I have been put out for over 4,000 dollarss in additional damages due to their lack of professionalism, honesty, workmanship and proper communication.

Primarily, I liked their manager of the project, who is no longer with the firm. He seemed to pull together a sensible team that did the work. One did the floor and the other did the dry wall. he had sensible suggestions about how to get it done.
They did an excellent job! Since the old field representative is no longer there I would like to meet the new field representative before I commit myself. Work like this is subcontracted to a dry wall team, a floor team, and the guy in charge, Sean Gannon, did a very good job in setting it off.
Dave was the on-site day-to-day master carpenter/multiple craft specialist whose skill at planning, providing alternate solution ideas and thinking through the sequence of work to be done on each of the 3 areas was highly effective. Also, Dave's carpentry expertise and other skills led to a very high quality results. All craft specialists provided by Mr. Basement were top notch pros (electrician, plumber, HVAC duct workers, drywall installers and painters). And all materials, including multiple base and wall cabinets, ceramic tile and lighting fixtures were high quality and helped the team create excellent finished products. As a result , 3 previously completely unfinished areas are now highly functional and attractive and quot;real roomsand quot;.
All Mr. Basement Team members were very conscious of protecting adjacent areas and realized that we needed to live in and use the space in the midst of the remodeling work.
We would definitely use this team for other renovation projects at our homeb
The work that was done was done quite well, with the team staying extra hours to ensure the work was done properly. Since they ran into trouble once they started excavating my basement floor, the excavation took much longer than planned, so from a labor perspective they likely lost money on my job, but the team worked diligently to ensure the job was completed properly. They were completely respectful of my scheduling commitments, and explained everything as it occurred. They also went above and beyond to ensure I was happy after the initial communications difficulties about the epoxy.
Overall, the team did good work and I would recommend them to others.
Overall, I would give them a B+. It is critically important to manage the dust during the demolition. It got over everything and it will take me weeks to clean it up.
Again, my biggest concern was the proce for the package, and the lack of a total solution (no painting, no rug re-installation).Licensing
