Our oven stopped working one day and after bringing in a repair guy he told us that it wasn't the oven it was a blown fuse in our fuse box.  We called an electrician who looked at the fuse box and laughed about how he had only seen one of them in his career that was set up like this one and he couldnt get a fuse that would fit.  He suggested finding one on ebay and left.  The fuses were quite expensive and rather than buy one and hope that it would never happen again I took his advice and decided to replace the antiquated (and somewhat unsafe) old fuse box.
I chose not to use the first electrician for several reasons I won't go into here. 
After looking here and asking neighbors about competent electricians who were fairly priced and did good work, I found Craft Electric (referral from a neighbor the old fashioned way this time rather than Angie's list). 
It was the right decision.  Rob came to our home and his price was right in line with other prices we received.  We chose Rob because our neighbor has done extensive work with him over many years and he swore by him. 
After he finished up cleaning up the his work area he showed us the finished product.  I have to say he was meticulous about being sure the wires were extremely neatly bundled and placed compared to the rats nest of wires the past electricians had left over the years...it is hard to describe what I mean...just know that the fuse box looks like a top notch professional that truly cares about quality did the job.
I rarely do reviews....but after working with Craft Electric I want to share with folks that there are still true professionals out there that aren't out to take ever dime you have and put out garbage work.
If I ever have any more electrical work needed Craft Electric will be the only place I call.

The person's name is Rob Craft. The cost is around $400 or $450. He was pulling the permit through Prince William on Monday and he's doing the work this Thursday the 24th of July. I called a couple of people and he was the first on to return my call. The cost was in the ballpark. I think $450 is exorbitant for an outlet but then again they have to pull permits and Prince William has gotten very expensive so it's not unreasonable given the fees that our wonderful county charges.

Rob Craft has done previous electrical work for us. During one of those jobs he informed us that our old circuit box panel which was a Federal Pacific, was considered by many home inspectors to be unsafe, to the degree that many home inspectors would not approve the sale of a home that had one of those circuit panels. He recommended that it be replaced. We agreed and set up a date to have that job done. Rob arranged to have Miss utility do the appropriate markings for underground lines. Rob then came out and first drove a second ground rod to meet current electrical codes. We previously only had one. A few days later he came out and did the actual panel replacement. The whole job took about 6 hours, with actual time without power between 4 and 5 hours. Rob came out the next day and finished labeling the box, cleaned everything up, and took away the old box . We can rest easy that now our house is better protected against electrical problems.

I was very pleased with the work performed by Rob Craft. He thought outside of the box to find a solution for running electrical for our new ceiling fan that enabled him to install the fan without putting any additional holes in our ceiling. Additionally, he took extra care to ensure he cleaned up any mess. We are enjoying our new fan and won't hesitate to use him again in the future.

Rob is very reliable and trustworthy. To the extent that I understand electrical work, I would say that he does an excellent job. I have also used him in the past -- one of a very few contractors I've used more than once.

Although the problem was not complex and something I could have done myself, I just couldn't find the time. Mr. Craft arrived on time (early actually, which worked out fine for me). He was very pleasant and professional and worked methodically. It took him about an hour to find and fix the problem, which was surely a lot less time than it would have taken me because it was not at all obvious. He then answered a couple of random questions I had about a couple of other concerns that I may need looked at in the future, which he did not have to do. I will definitely use him for future electrical work.

Have use Craft electric many times over the last several years. Replacing outside light fixtures, replacing electrical circuits, trouble shooting issues. Very trustworthy. Would highly recommend!

I discovered a junction box behind the wall during a bathroom remodel project and the job was too much for me to take on. Normally, I would take this kind of project on myself, but I was worried about the number of lines coming into the box and I wanted to make sure it was done right.
I called Rob and explained the situation and he immediately understood what needed to be done. I called him on a Friday and he was on the road so he asked me to send him an email with some dates and times that would work for me. I followed up with an email and he responded quickly. We set the job up for the following Friday.
He showed up on time, got right to work, and the job took about 2 hours start to finish. He was able to figure out a way to remove the illegal junction box without creating an eye sore somewhere else, which was a bonus because I figured there was little chance we could remove the junction box completely without rewiring all the fixtures that were powered by the box.
The quality of the work was excellent and the price charged was fair. I would definitely use him again.

Rob was great. Needed three outdoor lanterns and an indoor dimmer switch replaced on short notice and he made time to do it on Labor Day without charging a mark-up! He arrived on time, was very friendly and explained what he was going to do. He charges by the item and not by the hour which avoids me having to watch the clock. We just moved into this home and he just became our electrician!

The reported service of moving the light switch is the second time that I have used Mr. Craft's electrical services. Originally, I needed him to change out one light switch, and four electrical sockets in a basement room. Mr. Craft was able to come one day after I called to obtain an estimate. He came out in the evening after he had finished his electrical work for the day. He gave me an estimate and let me know when he would be available to perform the job. He explained in detail what he would be doing since I had aluminum wiring and asked if I had any further questions. On the day of the job he arrived on time as promised and proceeded to provide the services that we had agreed upon. I have hired electricians in the past that pale in comparison to him. He actually cleaned up with his own vacuum and left the room spotless. I find that this is the exception rather than the rule.

The last job performed on the 21st was moving a light switch from one corner of a paneled wall over to another wall addition. Mr. Craft again arrived on time and went to work. I am very pleased with both of the jobs he performed and look forward to calling him in the future for any of my electrical needs. He is friendly and professional in his demeaner, attitude and service. I highly recommend him to anyone needing electrical services.

After some "oh I can do that" replacing of outlets and switches, I discovered that most of the 3-way switches did not operated properly. Another Angie's list member recommended Rob. I called and Rob replied promptly. I described the issue, he gave me an estimate of what the charges would be and we scheduled an appointment for the same day. He gave me a 2 hour window between 2-4pm for arrival and called to say he would be arriving at 2pm. He arrived promply, worked very efficiently, was very pleasant, and didn't even make me feel bad about my mistake. I would highly recommend Craft Electric.
