"Gonzalez Landscaping & Tree Care did an outstanding job and completed the job quickly. Recieved quote on Thursday and they worked Friday through Sunday to complete the job. I also had them powerwash the house. I'll use them again in the future."

"The team worked carefully and diligently to remove the oak, taking about 6 hours. Communication was excellent with the arborist who did the estimate as well as the crew upon arrival, during the job, and at completion. They left my yard and patio clean and their impact was minimal despite the bulk of the tree."

Small jobs welcome

"Moises and team carried out great work pruning some large trees and removing some dead trees from our yard. Provided a timely and competitive quote and left the site extremely clean and tidy. Our neighbors saw the work and immediately hired Moises to do similar work in their yard. Strongly recommended."

"Outstanding job all the way around! They responded to my request for a proposal to take down a 60 foot oak within minutes and quoted me a very good price with same day service. The crew was professional, courteous, efficient, and did great work safely and expeditiously. Very satisfied all the way around. Would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs large trees removed that are near structures."

"Excellent, efficient, personable and timely service. Moises took time and explained a better option to what I thought was needed (of course he was right). He along with his Luna crew quickly removed the offending tree branches, cleaned up and hauled away the debris. I am so pleased and give them a 5.0+ LUNA Tree & Landscape Svc rocks!"

"We have used JL Tree Service twice to help us remove two large Bradford pears, one dying oak tree and do health pruning on our other trees that we want to keep in the yard and make sure they stay healthy. We requested a certified arborist and had a great experience with William. We left oak tree snug as a wildlife habitat and now we can watch all the woodpeckers going up and down the snug. They were very professional and efficient (we had 2 different teams) and our trees look so much better as a result and we are not worried during every storm anymore. We did all our work in February. They offer winter discount. I would highly recommend this company. We are planning to use them again."

"Efficient company. Crew was managed well, did quick work trimming my front yard tree with a bucket truck and removed the debris feeding the wood chipper. Part of the project agreement was removal of bamboo overhang. All work completed and work area was cleared. I highly recommend 23 Trees for this type of yard work."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

Planting trees far enough from your foundation will protect your home from root damage, but if you’re dealing with existing trees, you can still guard against roots. Root barriers form a physical boundary that will prevent roots from encroaching on your foundation and can help save you from expensive foundation repair costs.

You’ll want to have your palm trees trimmed during the spring, ideally in May, before hurricane season sets in, which generally takes place during the late summer. Palm trees grow fastest over the summer months. You’ll also want to trim your palm trees when you notice:

  • Brown fronds

  • Dry leaves

  • Flower pods

  • Fruit

  • Fronds overgrown in power lines

  • Frond encroaching upon your neighbor’s home or yard

  • Visible damage from a storm

Any cutting of tree roots can hurt or kill a tree, which is why it's recommended you don’t do it unless the roots are damaging or invasive on a nearby structure like your home. You should never cut more than 15 percent of above-ground tree roots at one time. If you have any questions about cutting tree roots, contact your local arborist.
