"This was the most coordinated and professional move I’ve ever experienced. Working with Jose Was great, he made sure that I was informed about every step of the move and stuck to the initial estimate. Items were securely, packed, and movers were cautious with any larger fragile items. Would not hesitate to use their services again in the future."

"We used Call The Movers on advice of family members who had used them for moves in the past. I've moved throughout the DMV area 3 separate times and I can honestly say that Call The Movers made this the easiest, most efficient, stress-free move I've ever had. Our crew was a MACHINE - they had completed both the move out from our old apartment and the move in to our new home in under 4 hours. We were so pleased at how efficient and FAST this move went. My only regret is not hiring them for packing services as well, which I will absolutely recommend you do to make the move even easier. We are so pleased with our moving experience with Call The Movers that we won't use anyone else. 10/10 experience and would absolutely call them again in a heartbeat; they are well worth the money and the time you save!"

"Micheal Brooks was very through and patience in explaining the moving process to me. We was willing to work within my budget to complete the moving process. The driver of the moving truck was very polite and patience. I would highly recommend CarMack moving services to others. Ollie La Rue"

"Went great. 2 guys and a huge truck moved items from one townhouse to another. 15 minutes to load, 10 minutes to unload. Perhaps 45 minutes at most. The huge truck arrived early and I was ready. Great job'"

"Campbell moving was by far one of the best moving companies we’ve ever had and I’ve moved a lot so I know moving companies. From setting up the move to the moving crew, it was an excellent experience. The movers were respectful, kind and such hard workers! The head mover even positioned the carpet under our master bed for me on his own, I was so impressed. And they were such a reasonable price as well, 5 stars all the way!"

"I contacted American Moving based on the reviews here on Angies List; they were one of three companies I contacted. Mike came out to the house to look things over and talk through the details of my move requirements; most of the bids were all virtual, this personal touch did make a difference. The price he quoted ended up being right in the middle of the other bids and I went with them. Moving day was scheduled on a day that was calling for TERRIBLE weather and Mike was able to accommodate my request to move the date up by a day which was perfect. The movers were super punctual, super professional and so helpful as some of the "where to put things" decisions were not all worked out. They were patient and also so pleasant to work with. It took 10 hours for the entire move and it went flawlessly in my opinion. I would use American Moving & Storage again and would highly recommend them."

"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"Movers were extremely professional and made the move a breeze. They handled my items with great care and ensured that things were put in places I wanted. Great value and well worth not having to go through a stressful move myself. Would highly recommend Nation Capital Moving!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

Disassembling a shed before you move it could save space and ease the process of loading it onto a moving vehicle. However, you should only disassemble it if it was designed for the possibility of re-building it at your new home. Consult the original process and materials required to build the shed in the first place when considering this option.

The maximum size of a tiny home you can move depends on your state transportation guidelines, but the rule of thumb is a maximum of 400 square feet. However, as long as it falls within the local limits for traveling on public roadways, you should be good to hit the road.

Typically, local moves involve either renting a moving truck and moving yourself or hiring local movers to do the job. For long-distance moves, options include hiring a full-service moving company that handles packing, loading, transportation, and unloading, or using a self-moving service where you load your belongings into a container or trailer and have it transported. Another option is hiring professional movers for labor-only services, where they assist with loading and unloading your rented truck. You can also opt for moving pods or moving containers that can be transported to the destination.

You can save money when moving by packing and moving items yourself. You can also find ways to cut costs by shopping for packing supplies at discounted stores and getting free moving boxes instead of purchasing them. It also pays off to declutter your belongings prior to starting the moving process. Remember, the fewer items you have, the fewer packing supplies you have to buy, and you can rent a smaller moving truck or container, too.

Building a house is generally more expensive upfront than moving an existing one. However, the total cost depends on factors such as location, size, materials, labor, and permits. Moving a house can incur significant expenses for transportation, permits, site preparation, and renovations. On the other hand, building a new house allows for customization and may have lower long-term maintenance costs.
