Family owned & operated. Financing available. Credit cards. All work done by experienced professionals to ensure consistent high quality. Award winning company at your service.
"Snell installed our new HVAC and we were initially pleased. However, the unit failed a county inspection. When Snell reached out to set up a repair, our window was 10am-2pm. The technician showed up at 4pm without the materials he needed. He promptly left having done nothing, said he would get what he needed and return. We heard nothing."

"They are just awesome! I needed to have an outlet that was controlled by a switch (40-year-old property) that was used for a table lamp on what was going to become my new living room's entertainment center wall. On that narrow wall, I also needed that outlet moved up from the floor to the middle so that a mounted television could be placed over it. The biggest issue with what sounds simple is that I am an idiot. I was able to hardwire the outlet directly from the main by removing the useless switch from the outlet. I then decided to move the two remaining 3-pole switches that control my entryway light and primary loving room lights toward the edge of the wall (it's just a 50" wide section of wall between my entryway and stairs) because it would look odd if those switches remained centered under the mounted TV. This is still a pretty simple task if you're capable of turning off the supplying circuit breaker and courageous enough to cut into your drywall to relocate receptacles. However, it becomes a nightmare if you forget to label every wire into the switches. And that's why I'm not an electrician. Now, six different 14 gauge wires are coming from every direction with no distinguishable source or destination. I was not about to remove the entire wall sections drywall to better trace the cables, and running back and forth to toggle the main circuit breaker to fix a mistake that never should've happened would've become more and more irritating with every trip. Julio had to do a similar tap dance up and down from the main level to the downstairs utility room, but his knowledge, know-how, and experience cut out a ton of the time it would've taken me and got the wiring done safely and up to code. I also needed a power supply issue with my new washer and dryer resolved, and he quickly spotted what my home inspector missed a month ago. I had four outlets within 6 feet of the sink faucet, with only one being a GFCI. That GFCI had also been painted over, so the surge switch and reset didn't function properly. Making my home safe required approximately 6 hours of labor and at least $50 in materials. I anticipated a bill of about $1,000 for his services. The gentleman prepared an invoice for $540. That's an incredible price for the scope and quality of his work, and I will never go with anyone else for future electrical projects. Choose Lemus Electrical with complete confidence. They do great work and good business for an extremely fair price."

We are a family owned and operated business that has been serving the Baltimore, Washington Metropolitan area since 1925. We are committed to providing superior electrical services. The valuable advantages we can offer you are great service, high quality and experienced workers at a competitive price.
"Do not use this company. They will rip you off. The contract was for eight 300W LED 40 ft pole lights, but I caught them redhanded installing 240W. Who does that? Then, they broke my lock and broke into my sprinkler room which I saw on my video which they admitted. Then, Kolb sued me for not paying the bill which I disputed due to lost tools as result of the break-in. Who does that breaking into a customer's sprinkler room and not informing that they did. I had to catch them on my video. Not only that it took over one year to the work proposed work. TOTAL FRAUD. I will be going to court...."

It’s important to ask an electrician a few questions before you commit to hiring them so you can make an informed decision as a consumer. If you’re getting estimates or considering hiring an electrician, ask them these questions:
Are you a full-time electrician?
Are you bonded, licensed, and insured?
What level of experience do you have as an electrician?
Can you please share three references?
Do you do residential or commercial electrical work?
What kinds of electrical work are you most familiar with?
Will any subcontractors be performing the work?
Are permits and inspections required?
Who is responsible for obtaining permits and inspections?
What is your schedule?
Do you offer a guarantee or warranty on your work?
Will you sign a do-not-exceed clause to keep the job within the budget?
Tipping an electrician is not a requirement nor is it expected, as they build a fair wage into the price of the job. It’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping electricians, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip 10% to 15%, it will likely be received with thanks.
Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.
Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
Yes, although there are different types of electricians, they must be licensed, certified, and in most cases insured. States have different requirements for electrician licensing and certifications. In some cases, there may be licensing requirements at the local level, but not the state level. It’s always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. If licensing is not required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed electrician with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
