"We live in area near DC where the zip code seems to inspire a 20% upcharge from many contractors. Given that, we interviewed 12 different contractors for our small bathroom project. Ultimate Remodel LLC was offered the job, we have been incredibly happy with the entire project. Their communication, planning, design, gathering of materials, installation and execution of the project were on time, and first rate. The owner, the staff, and the workers respected our home during installation, and gave us a briefing at the start of each day, and an update at the end of each day in a clear, common sense manner that was honest and true. Every step of the project was honored with integrity and quality workmanship. We ended up having significant floor joist damage and reframed the entire space. The cost was covered in the contingency, and explained, labor and materials, joist by joist. They could have taken advantage since we had no choice, but they took pride in honoring the bid, and being able to stay within budget. After installing full house insulation, new sheathing, new siding, new roofing, new hvac, two electrical projects within a year, we were amazed by the ease with which Ultimate Remodel managed our full gut bathroom project. The most important thing to us is to be able to trust our contractors, Ultimate Remodel LLC is the kind of business that inspires it. Absolute, 100 percent excellent."

"It's been a few weeks since Z&O Construction completed my small bathroom remodel and I am extremely pleased with the outcome - it's beautiful! All the plumbing fixtures and finishes are holding up and functioning well due to proper installation and excellent workmanship. Although I am an architect, this was my first time working with a general contractor for my home and the process was seamless. I did the design, selections, and majority of procurement, then Z&O was able to work within a rapid timeline to start the project once I received all owner-provided items and completed in 7 business days, putting in some extra hours to see the project through. The team has extensive experience from demo to rough-in to painting, plumbing, electrical, tiling, and cabinetry. They were responsive and direct with communication preceeding, during, and after the project. Whenever an issue came up or intent was unclear, they asked for clarification and fixed any issues. For example, they installed the vanity multiple times because of drawer hitting door frame and existing drain pipes not being centered so it was installed correctly, not haphazardly. They always did their best to keep the other areas of my small apartment clean and I fully trusted them in my home even when I could not be present. Their fee aligned with market rate for a small bathroom remodel, and I definitely got the value for the price. I had piece of mind hiring a knowledgeable GC because it removed liability for me living in a multi-unit condo building and meant the project would get done faster as it is the only bathroom I have. My only feedback is that I had provided drawings, specifications, and installation guides, as well as additional information, but it was unclear that this had been fully reviewed or distributed to the whole team. Z&O can also be better in formatting and thoroughness of their estimates as what I received was only a rough word doc. Simple administrative systems could help reflect the otherwise very professional reputation. As I plan a kitchen remodel next, I look forward to the opportunity to work with Z&O Construction again!"

"We recently worked with Home Design to completely remodel our kitchen and highly recommend their work. We found Home Design after researching reputable kitchen remodelers on several websites. When we first contacted them, John reached out promptly to set up a visit to our home for an initial consultation. During the consultation, he offered several ideas for how we could restructure and reorganize our outdated kitchen. From there, we worked with Home Design to design a completely restructured kitchen area. It was a large project, requiring a full-scale demolition, entirely new cabinets and countertops, new appliances, new flooring, adding a gas line for a gas range, and electrical work. John and Marcus offered an initial design, and they were very responsive when we spent several weeks going back and forth adjusting the design, moving appliances, etc. They worked with us to craft a design we were very happy with and implemented our requested changes well throughout the design process. They offered a very competitive price that respected the original budget we discussed with them. We started demolition on our old kitchen right as the COVID-19 pandemic was picking up steam in the Washington metro area, and after demolition was complete we asked Home Design to pause the project for several months because we were not comfortable having contractors in our home. John and team were supportive of this decision; over the next three months, they reached out periodically to see if our calculus had changed, offering ideas for safety measures we could implement, but never pressuring us to make a decision we were uncomfortable with. When Virginia moved to a phased reopening in June, we were excited to get back to work with them. It took their crew about three weeks to complete the project from there. We found overall communication before and during the project to be good. Our main contractor on-site, Eddy, was great at communicating what supplies we needed to provide and asking questions to make sure the work was exactly as we wanted it. We absolutely love the final results. John and Marcus recommended a gorgeous line of white cabinets, and we chose a beautiful quartz from their showroom, which has a great selection. Their crew ably installed all the features of the kitchen: recessed lighting, pendant lighting, under-cabinet lighting, sink and faucet, appliances, and cabinet hardware. Overall, we highly recommend Home Design and are so thrilled with the results of our kitchen remodel. We look forward to working with them on future projects!"

"We had a complicated bathroom remodel which required a complete overhaul of the layout of the bathroom. The owner, Russell, was able to help me come up with a design that would utilitize the space to the fullest. The moving of the toilet, plumbing, and electric required a county inspection which the company was not intimidated by and I was thankful to have a company that was licensed, insured, and willing to do what was required. They were also very accommodating when it came to the timeline as I had several required stops and starts. There were some complications with communication, lack of detail, and leaving things dirty by the work crew which did cause frustration during the process. However, Russell made sure everything was ultimately resolved and the end result was a beautiful bathroom that I was very happy with."
