Kitchen Remodel
Highly recommend! We used Mayflower to redesign and redo our main floor living, kitchen, and dining areas. And we couldn?t be happier! Especially because we did the project totally remotely from Europe. They accommodated our long-distance needs every step along the way and were in constant communication. This allowed us to completely trust them and we?re so glad we did. We finally made it back to our house after all the construction was done and it was gorgeous! All the materials are very high quality and the craftsmanship is seamless. The design process was so fun and they worked with us to make sure our design dream fit our budget. We would happily use them again for home renovations.

We are very happy with our new tile patio installed by Mayflower. Mayflower did such a great job remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms that they were the logical pick to install tile on our patio to cover the grey cement that was the original surface.

We had a great experience with the renovation. The design phase was good and considered all our storage needs while giving us a more pleasing aesthetic. We hired Mayflower to turn our retirement condo into our perfect home. We did not want downsizing to deprive us of our most loved home features. The tiny kitchen was our first priority. Could we please have a microwave/convection oven, a steam oven, an induction cooktop, a dishwasher drawer, and a French door fridge with the newest tech for keeping produce fresh. We also wanted Rev-a-Shelf features to maximize storage space, including trash bin and pantry pullouts. And how about a deep kitchen sink and instant hot water for tea? It didnâ t take long for Nicole to show us designs. Everything fit together beautifully. Nicole added some open shelves to make the kitchen more spacious, and she surrounded our washer/dryer with custom cabinetry so it no longer looked out-of-place in the kitchen. The small laundry supply cabinet created next to it was the perfect touch. We did not even have to upgrade to more expensive cabinets to accomplish this so we were able to keep to our budget. Previous to this, I imagined improving my tiny bathroom would be impossible, but when Nicole informed me that my tiny bathroom stall could be enlarged by several feet because one wall could be moved back, I was excited! Then I was shown how my old cabinet had fillers on either side so extra space was lost. My new cabinet would have more storage space and also create more floor space in front of it. The chunky old toilet could be replaced with a tankless bidet creating more floor space, and giving me some luxury options like heated seat and self cleaning. My bathroom was going to be transformed, just like the kitchen. Having been through remodels at previous residences I was a little anxious about all this work being done while we were living in the condo, but the Mayflower crew were very courteous. All work went exactly as planned, protective plastic walls protected our furniture, and frequent email updates were sent to us confirming exactly what work was completed and what was in progress. Since I could see much of the work while it was being done, I was impressed by the crewâ s skill and pride in their work. We are now looking forward to having all our worn-out 40 year-old closet and room doors replaced. We know that Mayflower will have no trouble completing on schedule and at a price that we can afford. We are lucky to have Mayflower making our retirement dreams come true.

I can not say enough great things about Mayflower they truly came to my rescue, even with the complexities of dealing with insurance. The standout was Nicole, my designer, who reviewed my space and helped with every detail. I am not the best at designing, but Nicole made the entire process so much easier. I shared photos of my vision, and she guided the project effortlessly. The team managed to get my home ready in just a month, even rearranging their schedules to meet my needs so I could move back in. Their customer service was exceptional â kind, responsive, and surpassing even Chick-fil-A (and who does not love Chick-fil-A customer service, right?). Their support was outstanding. We hired Mayflower Construction to renovate our kitchen, powder room, den and laundry room. We had a great experience and I would highly recommend them. Nicole was our designer and she not only beautifully designed our project but was a great support during the process. Alex was our project manager and came by almost every day to check on things and make recommendations. Frank was our foreman and he was tremendous. The team who worked in our house were skilled and helpful. I especially liked that they were assigned to our project and consistently worked long hours to achieve the project goals.

We recently completed a kids' bathroom remodel with the Mayflower Construction Group and I'm delighted to share what a terrific experience it was from start to finish. I honestly couldn't have been more pleased with Mayflower's professionalism, customer-centricity, flexibility, responsiveness, breadth of design options and pricing transparency. Having recently done a master-bath remodel with a different company, I'm even more impressed by and grateful for the value-added Mayflower experience. Our design consultant, Nicole, was committed from the start of the project to its success, even braving an unexpected early-morning snowstorm to keep our scheduled at-home consultation. With her help, I was able quickly to select the right tile, lighting, bath/shower upgrades, and space-optimizing vanity and cabinetry. She patiently answered my many questions, reviewed my countless wish-list images, and made value-added suggestions that made it clear she'd intuited my unspoken wants, too. I love the resultant design. The construction team was similarly professional, detail-oriented and thorough in executing their portion of the project. They took enormous care in protecting newly laid carpeting and ensuring a clean, safe, accessible environment even amid demolition and rebuild. They responded immediately to a request to tweak something that we hadn't anticipated and had a just generally great attitude. Finally, Mayflower's clear, consistent and timely communication deserves mention. With frequent updates and proactive check-ins, I felt very well cared for throughout the process. I also appreciate the group's efforts to accelerate project completion to accommodate a planned houseguest visit. We love our new bath and gladly recommend Mayflower Construction. Kitchen Remodel
My family recently hired Mayflower Construction Group to renovate the first floor of our 1937-built rowhouse in Alexandria. We initially met with Mayflowers design consultant Nicole who guided us through the project, from design to demo to reno, and who could not have been more professional or helpful. Construction took 6 weeks and was on-time and on-budget. The end result was a stunning makeover of our first floor, a space that is now spacious, airy and full of light, with modern and warm materials, textures and colors. We truly admire the work and craftsmanship of Mayflower and were incredibly impressed by their entire team (Alex, Frankie, Dasha, as well as the hard working and skilled demo/reno workers) and highly recommend their company.

We worked with a design consultant who was committed from the start of the project to its success. She helped us choose unique designs from the tile, lighting and color for each bathroom. Our journey to build out our dream Irish pub in the basement of our home started in April of 2022. We actually signed a contract with another company to do the work â  then we waited, and waited, and waited, until the work was supposed to begin in January of 2023 (supply issues were really bad in early 2022), only to find out they werenâ  t ready (after we called them a week before the start date), then they delayed until February, then March then finally we mutually agreed to part ways and they refunded the down payment. None of that has anything to do with Mayflower â  so why are we sharing this? Because as we restarted our effort to find another contractor, we were not exactly feeling good about any of it. Then we found Mayflower and Nicole in particular, and everything came together. Nicole, the designer and our main contact, was an absolute pleasure to work with â  fun even â  as we mapped out our dream. She did an excellent job communicating every detail (and we are very detailed and particular), set good expectations and provided insightful suggestions along the way. Nicole and Mayflower were flexible on pricing and helped us stay on budget (they are not â  cheapâ  â  but you get every penny of value) while keeping our vision intact. While not super complicated (the basement was already finished, roughed in for plumbing and had an electrical subpanel with plenty of space), there were some tricky things and details to deal with. The work started exactly on time, with the team of Frankie & Pedro expertly managed by Alex (who himself was great, easy to communicate with, helpful, responsive, etc.) and while it took a few days longer than planned due to a mix up with the county inspector, we couldnâ  t be happier with the work done. Everyone we dealt with, including those named above and Carol the office manager, were just great. Impressive responsiveness (especially for the contractor world in this area), thorough, communicative and helpful â  all around pleased. We have car mechanics that we absolutely love and trust, and we feel we now have a home contracting company/team that falls into that same category.

Bathroom Remodel
We engaged Mayflower back in 2021 for a kitchen remodel that turned out far better than we could have ever imagined. When it came time for a makeover of our master bathroom in 2023, we knew who to call! As with our kitchen, the master bathroom in our Del Ray, VA duplex is TINY and therefore has very little storage space. In fact, other than a small medicine cabinet, there was no storage at all to speak of. So this was priority number one. Other than that, we just wanted an updated shower/bath with modern fixtures, a more powerful toilet, and better lighting. After another wonderful design consultation with Nicole (she is the best!), we scheduled the work to be done when weâ d be out of town for a couple of weeks. This is the second remodel that Mayflower has done in our absence and they take tremendous care to keep our house clean and return it to its original state when done. Again, we returned to a bathroom that looked better than we ever expected! Now there is a ton of storage, excellent lighting, and utterly gorgeous blue tile to view every day. We couldnâ t be happier! Mayflower is the only business weâ ll use for future remodels. Their pricing is fair, communication is top notch, and their people are just so kind and caring.

Two years of quotes and the firing of one major area contractor (who did no work after a year of holding our money) led us to Mayflower Construction. We didnâ t intend on remodeling our basement for a while, but a stressed-out newly adopted cat peed all over the basement forcing us to expedite renovation. We dread renovations. Weâ ve gone through it several times with several homes and have never had even an okay experience. My friends have also gone through all the headaches, delays, unexpected costs, horrible communication, and everything else you can imagine. Dozens of quotes were requested. Days spent getting them. Just a handful of companies responded and even less with reasonable prices and in enough detail to satisfy my personality. My husband and I stumbled on Mayflower Construction and took a chance on obtaining yet another quote. In walks Nicole. Game over. We were sold on her professionalism, communication, attention to detail, inspiring design contributions, personality (sheâ s a superstar musician ð ¨â ð ¤ too), timeliness, authenticity, and everything in between. She genuinely cares about her clients and projects. The design process was easy and the contract was detailed, yet simple to understand. Weâ re due to start our project in July, so Iâ ll update this review accordingly and add photos. Based on the excellent communication from everyone at Mayflower Construction, I have high hopes. In a nutshell, we hired Nicole, but have been exceptionally happy with everyone weâ ve encountered at Mayflower. Nicole could have been working for the Dollar Store and we would have Dollar Store to do the project.ð

Kitchen Remodel
We wanted a modern, European style kitchen with flat panel cabinets. Very difficult to find affordable/non-custom cabinets in this style in the DC area. Fortunately we found Mayflower! They were willing to work with us to use a new vendor we had found in California. Mayflower did all the work vetting this new cabinet vendor, evaluating the quality of the product, setting up a new vendor relationship, ordering and assembling/installing these cabinets. Mayflower did a phenomenal job of giving us the kitchen of our dreams. Their attention to detail and quality work were evident throughout the entire project. We had an excellent field team, with some of the hardest working and nicest people we've ever worked with. Franky, Anibel, and Ismael were with us throughout the entire project, always on time, always professional and courteous, and wonderful people that we would hire again. Nicole was outstanding in helping to guide us through all of the selection of our materials, and stayed with us as we had decisions to make throughout the entire process. Things were somewhat delayed, but primarily due to shipping and other factors beyond Mayflower control.

An opportunity presented itself for me to do more than replace the toilet in my powder room so I began searching for construction companies for a complete renovation. During my travels to and from work, I saw a Mayflower Construction Group work truck. I called Mayflower along with two other companies to get quotes and chose Mayflower after meeting Nicole. She came out to my townhome with a portfolio that spelled out their various bathroom packages and the services they offer. My visit to their showroom was fun and stress free due to Nicoleâ s professionalism, good design eye and patience! I decided to order the bathroom vanity, light fixture mirror and shelving from a well known furniture company and the rest of the bathroom items were chosen with Nicoleâ s guidance. The foreman, Anibal, and on-site work staff were very professional and the quality of their work was excellent. We did experience a delay with the project due to the furniture company changing the delivery of the vanity several times. The office manager, Lexi, kept me informed and scheduled the follow up visit for the vanity installation as soon as it was delivered to their showroom. Due to the unknown specs of the vanity, a plumbing change order had to be included, however it was communicated to me immediately and they were very understanding on the pricing. I love my renovated powder room. Without a doubt, I would recommend mayflower construction group for any renovation project and they will be the first ones I call for any future renovation projects.

Kitchen Remodel
During the pandemic, my small kitchen started to seem even smaller. I hired Mayflower to expand the kitchen to take over the kitchen and dining room space. It was a complete gut and rearrangement. They did a thorough, quality job with attention to detail - and they stayed within budget. They addressed any concerns I had along the way quickly and professionally. I think my favorite thing is that they found a way to keep my large back window. All the other row houses in my neighborhood that have had similar remodels had to reduce the window size for the sink. Mayflower seamlessly installed the counter right to the existing window edge. I was also impressed with how well they were able to integrate new wood floors for part of the kitchen with my existing floors. I love my new kitchen. It turned out better than I expected and has really improved how we live in our house. Iâ m now talking to Mayflower about a possible bathroom remodel.

Mayflower Construction was an exceptional contractor to work with to remodel our primary bathroom. It was a turnkey experience from beginning to end. The project was incredibly overwhelming for me at first, Originally I was working with different handymen, contractors, going tile stores, etc. and trying to do it myself to save money, but found that it was daunting, and the time I was spending to pull all of the different pieces together was very frustrating, not to mention, trying to figure out a timeline so that all the moving parts would come together. It would have taken far longer and been more frustrating to go this route. Upon meeting with Nicole, our design consultant at Mayflower Construction Group, my husband and I were immediately put at ease. She led me through the entire process and how it would work in a timely manner and helped us get to a comfortable budget that worked for both parties. Mayflower was willing to help us with pricing and get to a number that was more than I intended to spend but lower than what they would have normally charged for the project. Going to their showroom and being able to put together the tiles, accessories, paint colors, shower doors, etc.â ¦ was incredibly helpful to visualize the look of the bathroom and how it would come together. Nicole was even gracious enough to source items that they did not have (my fancy bidet toilette, with all the bells and whistles) and incorporated it into the design. Mayflower took care of procuring all materials and took that responsibility off our hands. Our project manager met with us at regular intervals to answer all our questions and address any concerns we had during construction. Their construction team was incredibly professional and courteous. The construction team was exceptionally good about limiting the impact of the construction, including putting protective material on floors and stairs outside the construction area and using curtaining material to limit the spread of dust. At the end of each day, the team did a thorough cleaning of the material staging area and the areas that they walked through. The finished bathroom has an updated modern look that is harmonious with the design of the house. We are thrilled with the work they have done and will definitely use them again for future projects.

Bathroom Remodel
We remodeled a small 1960s bathroom in our basement. Our biggest challenge going in was water damage visible on an interior bathroom wall and on a wall in an adjacent bedroom. We wanted to make sure we understood the source of the water damage before we started the renovation -- was it coming from the old bathroom or was it a foundation issue? Mayflower's designer, Nicole, asked their project manager, Alex, to come out and evaluate the issue. By cutting open the bedroom wall, his team determined that the issue was due to a leak from the aged interior shower walls. This evaluation -- before we had even contracted with Mayflower -- gave us the confidence to move forward with the renovation. What impressed me from the start with Mayflower is their process. I worked with Nicole to select all materials in their showroom. Their relationships with vendors make the selection process super easy -- one visit to their showroom, compared to running all around town looking at tiles and fixtures. The selection was good for our project and the design process with Nicole was fun. We made 90% of selections on one afternoon, and then she emailed me nearly daily and sent lots of suggestions for the last 10% of items (mirror, medicine cabinet, towel bars). Mayflower moved quickly and the team was in and out of our home in 3 weeks. Lexi served as the interface between us and our construction team once the project kicked off, and Nicole consulted as needed. The team was careful to protect the rest of the house and try to limit dust as they worked. They cleaned up every day, and did a deeper clean at the project's end. The bathroom looks beautiful! I recommend Mayflower for the genius and ease of their process, as well as for the excellent work they all did on our new bathroom.

Kitchen Remodel

We were impressed at how they were able to step in and remediate the mistakes made by a previous contractor, and even more so that they were able to seamlessly incorporate our pre-existing custom elements into the design, even if doing so required some compromises. Mayflower was able to deliver on all of our custom details, including a custom spice cabinet, range hood, appliance garage, center island, built-to-order cabinets, and a full walk-in butler's pantry. It's clear that they put a lot of thought and care into the project to ensure that it met our needs and exceeded our expectations. It's never easy to take over a project that someone else has botched, but Mayflower handled it with professionalism and sensitivity. They were transparent throughout the process, keeping us informed of any changes or issues that arose, and were always sensitive to our needs and preferences. Bathroom Remodel
I was in need of having my stepfather's bathrooms updated and to get the condo ready to sell. I saw an ad in the Rotunda newsletter and I liked the looks of the photos I saw. I inquired about getting a quote to update the bathrooms, they sent the quote over quickly and the design was something I felt was very updated and would increase the resale value of the condo. Working with the design team, I got my daughter involved because she had recently updated her bathroom after a flood, and I couldn't have asked for an easier process being 750 miles away from the unit! The design team and office manager were patient with me having to make payments through our lawyer in Florida, so this was definitely a long distance process! When I was able to come up a day or two after the project was completed, it was so delightful to see the progress photos I received were true to the design we had selected, and I look forward to updating the rest of the condo!

After putting off projects for years, we decided it was time to embark on major renovations so we could maximize the space. We wanted a design-build contractor to help us not only think through all the projects and the dependencies, but also ensure any surprises in the walls were addressed properly. We gutted our first floor to open and remove multiple walls, renovated all three bathrooms (two upstairs and one of the first floor), and installed new flooring throughout the house. Mayflower Construction was great to work with. Nicole, our designer, helped us reconcile our different design sensibilities and we both love the final product. Alex, our project manager, was knowledgeable and unflappable even when the walls revealed surprises that should have not passed inspection at original construction (hello load bearing wall not quite in the right place). Lexi, the office manager, was great at answering all our emails and tracking down answers for all our questions and concerns. Our onsite teams worked hard and were always polite and helpful. Any remodel is a stressful experience, but the team at Mayflower was pleasant to work with and delivered great quality work. We couldnâ t be happier about the results, including knowing there arenâ t any issues hiding the in the walls anymore.

Bathroom Remodel
We hired Mayflower to remodel our bathroom. They were very accommodating in offering options to us and providing quotes when we were unsure how large of a remodel we wanted. They were quick to start the project and finished within a reasonable timeline. Although there were some communication issues between us, the office, and the field team, they were quick to sort it out. During the project, they were flexible with our requests when we ran into unexpected problems. We would recommend Mayflower and use them again.
