"Done Rite was able to respond quickly when I had a water leak. The plumbers were very professional, rapidly identifying the source of the leak, and implementing a repair, while keeping any mess to a minimum. I will definitely call them again if I have an issue."

"I called Angie"s list last Friday, within a few minutes I got a call from the office of this company EA Plumbing Inc, EA's office secretary tentatively fixed an appointment for their Master Plumber to visit our home and to offer a free quote. The Owner Edgar Artiga showed up within two hours as planned. He offered us a free quote which we found to be pleasantly lower than My Plumber company whom we found were a ripoff . Edgar Artiga executed this Faucet repairs / replacing hot & cold water cartridges within the set time frame. We are extremely satisfied of a job very well done by EA Plumbing. Our Project completion was top notch. Not only did they consistently show up on time, but they finished the project earlier than what we had initially anticipated and at a lower cost. They were also very flexible to accommodate our schedule. Final project turned out great!""

"Water leak was detected due to uncharacteristically high water bill. Plumber determined leak between mail shutoff valve to water meter. Received several estimates - Interstate was the most competitive - as advertised that’s all they do (water and sewer line repair or replacement). Once hired, professional, courteous, prompt, and skilled. Satisfied so far and would recommend!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Missing permit records for past renovations are a major sign that plumbing needs an update to meet current local codes. In many older Chantilly homes, inspect for outdated polybutylene or galvanized steel pipes, which are prone to failure and corrosion. Additionally, check for rust-colored water, reduced water pressure, or hidden freeze damage in exterior walls resulting from cold winters.

Helpful?

Avoid quotes from unverified contractors lacking a valid state license. A trustworthy professional will clearly outline local permit fees and inspection schedules for your plumbing work. Be cautious of estimates that promise extremely fast completion times for complex jobs, as this indicates they plan to skip required permits. Finally, reject quotes with vague material descriptions, especially regarding pipe replacements in Chantilly.

Helpful?

Always obtain and retain your final inspection records for future property sales. If your plumbing project involved the main water service line, update your utility account records. For homes in Chantilly, verify that all new pipes in crawl spaces or exterior walls have adequate insulation before winter arrives. Finally, flush your system and test the water quality if older pipes were disturbed.

Helpful?

Simple fixture replacements take a single day, while permitted water heater installations take up to three days. Complex plumbing work, like full house re-pipes or sewer lateral replacements, takes five to ten days of active labor. In VA, you must also account for permit processing times, which add two to four weeks for extensive renovations, especially during the busy spring and fall seasons.

Helpful?

Heavy clay soils make exterior trenching difficult and increase the risk of root intrusion into sewer lines during plumbing projects. In VA, properties relying on private septic systems require additional evaluations and approvals for any system changes. Furthermore, tight crawl spaces restrict access for pipe repairs, while strict homeowner association rules limit exterior equipment placement and visible penetrations.
