"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

It was a challenge finding a reputable company since this line of work is not performed by most roofing companies and some siding companies. I finally selected a company only to have them become non-responsive after coming out a 2nd time to answer questions and finalize the proposal. A tv commercial for Kelly Construction caught my attention. I called to schedule an appointment for an estimate. I met with Justin Finch. Justin was very professional, he listened to what I wanted done, and made suggestions. The estimate was inline with other quotes. I hired Kelly to do the work. Work was underway within a few days and completed within 4 days. Tucker did an outstanding job. I wish I had called Kelly initially. Kelly will definitely be my first stop the next time I'm ready to do home improvements."

While refinishing your appliances can make them look fresh, you may prefer to keep their original coatings as long as possible. The best way to maintain your appliances’ appearance is to keep them clean. You can do this by:

  • Wiping up messes and spills on appliances as soon as possible.

  • Handling objects with care near appliances to avoid scratching or denting them.

If you have a stainless steel appliance and notice a scratch, your first instinct might be to panic. There’s no need to reconsider your appliance choices—minor scratches are an unfortunate but totally normal part of stainless steel wear-and-tear. 

Stainless steel is practically rust-resistant, though if you have many hairline scratches (or a significant deep scratch), it is more likely to become discolored and potentially start to form rust if bacteria gets in the scratches.

Every home warranty is different but a majority of them cover appliance repair and replacement, provided the issue arises from normal wear and tear. Make sure you check your plan however as some will only cover new appliances which can be aggravating, as new appliances usually come with their own product warranty, whereas the warranty for an older appliance may have long since expired. Check with your home warranty company to see if an old appliance is covered before calling a professional appliance repair person.

Some new appliances you add during a home improvement project may qualify for tax breaks. You could receive a tax deduction if the appliances are going into a rental property. If the appliances qualify for energy-efficiency tax breaks, you may also be able to take a tax break.

The most obvious sign that it’s time to repair or replace your microwave is that it is no longer heating food. If you notice your food coming out cold or not as warm as it used to, call a small appliance repair technician for help. 

Some other signs your microwave is in need of service include:

  • It’s making strange noises during operation.

  • The interior plate no longer spins.

  • You notice strange smells or see smoke.

  • It’s close to or more than eight years old.
