Rick Hendrick's Colonial Chevrolet

It is easy to make an appointment. I have doubts about their qualifications for their techs. Some are good and some are so so. They should make sure the techs are up to speed and going to continuing education classes on a regular basis. They get to me right away, so that is good. It is a dealer, so they always charge more.

My wife and I began our new car search in September, but we did not make our purchase decision until December. We looked at many makes, models, and dealerships, but we had the best experience with Rick Hendrick's Chevrolet. Their sales staff allowed us to drive and evaluate several models. This was extremely helpful in our selection process. Sales associate Chris Robinson was friendly, courteous, and was knowledgeable of the vehicle we ultimately chose. Chris introduced me to Sevice Advisor Tracy Barcus, and she kindly answered all of my questions about sevice policies and practices. Chris also introduced me to Donpaul Ivers, who has had many years of sales experience with several automobile brands. James Barnes assisted with financing and optional services. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful without using high pressure. Sales Manager Burnett Newkirk is a skillful negotiator, but I feel that we achieved a win-win deal. In addition to the team oriented staff, the facilities also appear to be first class.

It was good. The only reason why I gave them a C was I scheduled the services with them and they knew that they will need a certain part for my truck and they didn't get it ahead of time they waited for me to show up so I ended up sitting around for a couple hours, about an hour more than I needed to while they went and got the part.

The work was excellent. The workers are fantastic. Their promptness in completing the work was excellent. It was delivered as scheduled. They are definitely someone you should go to. They have an excellent service center. Their price is very good. I have gotten my last four or five vehicles from them. They are that good.

Looked fantastic

On time and within the price promised. Dealer pricing is high, but they work hard to deliver on time and they do professional work. Warranty work was scheduled at my convenience and they got the work done when they said they would. Also did a car wash and vac for free.

Poorly.

I felt taken advantage of. I've called them three times to speak to the general manager and he has not returned my call. His name is Mike Bays.

Overall the service was fantastic. The representative for Rick Hendrick's was knowledgeable and enthusiastically helpful. The process was made simple for us and the service was great.

Bad experience overall. Took my 2002 Deville to Rick Hendrick's Colonial Cadillac to diagnose and repair a service engine soon light. My scan of the computer revealed a chronic OBDC Code 410 which is the secondary air system failure. When this code first appeared in April 2012, I replaced the Secondary air pump myself which is a likely cuplrit. The light came back with the same code which meant it was something downstream of the pump. I detailed all of this in a note and conversation with the Blue Team Service Manager, Dave.
I made sure that he knew it was not the pump which is expensive. When I picked the car up, they had replaced the pump and of course, the service engine soon light came on before I arrived back at my house. I took the car to Tread Quarters (Va Beach Blvd and Great NecK RD) and had a technician I trust look at it. He used a smoke test and determined that the failed item was the check valve. Smoke revealed a torn diaphragm in the valve. He replaced the valve and the car is perfect again.
The Rick Hendrick attempt cost me $619.81 to improperly diagnose and repair this system. I was very disappointed. Of that amount, $345 was labor to replace the good pump. I replaced the pump in April in about an hour. I think this labor cost is unreasonable.
They did discover an unknown problem with a sway bar end which was missing. That was a good catch and a reasonable repair.
The car was washed, vacuumed and I received a cold bottle of water, but they lost my business in the future for this experience.

I spend $126 on my last visit, but over the past three weeks I spend roughly $6000 there getting the used vehicle up to speed. In my opinion, they do really good work; they work with you. My service point of contact was Katrina Williams and she definitely made sure that everything was good to go and listened to me. I am going to take the vehicle in again and I am going to use Colonial Chevrolet continuously.

They are very good and the only people I would take my car to in this area. I would continue to use them.

Everyone at Colonial Chevrolet is very nice. I had to pay a little more then normal because it is a dealer but it was worth it. I know I can leave my car and when it is all said and done my car will be fixed and I won't have the same problems. They were even able to fit me in the same day which is virtually unheard of.
