"Everything went smoothly. I was notified me that the workers were on their way, on time. The office staff is incredibly helpful, professional (& sweet!)
The cast iron drain: matching the existing curves at either end in the line were a challenge but Marc & his assistant rose to to the occasion.
The 80 year old toilet flange had risen in height with time & been jury rigged by previous plumbers. Perfect fit & flow now!
Marc is very knowledgeable about old house plumbing & was very respectful to our property. They left the house & grounds as clean & tidy as when they arrived to do the work.
We plan to hire Will's Plumbing to do an even more complicated old house project that they have submitted an excellent bid to do.

Customers say: Quick response

"This is a review for Patrick S at A & A Plumbing in San Antonio, Texas. We had two sinks in the same bathroom that were draining slowly. This was not an emergency, so I made an appointment for two business days later. The person on the phone was polite and helpful and did a good job explaining the company policies about the service charge (about $20) that is credited towards any work done and what to expect when the plumbers came. I was given a 4 hour window and they came very near the beginning of the window. They called in advance to confirm and then again to let me know when the plumber was actually on his way and the name to expect. When Patrick got here, he gave a description of what was the likely problem and a quote to fix both sinks at once as we agreed the problem was probably past where the sink drain pipes joined up. He promised to talk over any surprises he found before doing anything extra, but his diagnosis was correct and they had both sinks draining wonderfully in less than an hour. Patrick and his colleague were pleasant and left everything as clean as when they came. They did not push selling me extra services, although they did ask if I had any other issues. I felt the price was fair for the high quality service I got. I will use this company again if we have another plumbing problem."

"I contacted SewerTV and Dave got back to me immediately and came over the same day to look at the sewer problem. I’d been given four quotes that included jack hammering up the bathroom floor and bedroom floor with a total cost of $8000 to $10,000. Dave called BS, used his color camera with clear images to scope the sewer lines, showed it to me and explained what he could do to clear the sewer line and keep it that way for many years. He quoted a price of well below $2000. He did the job the next day and came back two days later to make sure all was working and good. If you have a sewer problem this 100 percent is the company to use. All he fixes are sewer related issues. He charges a fair price and fixed the problem. I would give him 10 stars if I could! Thanks!!!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, an ambitious homeowner could decide to replace their own toilet. A person attempting to do a DIY toilet installation should keep in mind that the average toilet weighs between 100 and 120 pounds. That means that you'll need to be comfortable lifting and carrying your old toilet and replacement toilet during both phases of the project. Additionally, homeowners will need to have basic plumbing knowledge to avoid plumbing problems that could result in messy, expensive water damage in their bathrooms. Hiring a plumbing pro from the get-go can help you avoid damaging your plumbing or your new toilet.

Some of the problems with in-wall toilets include the complex installation, which might need extra framing. It is also more difficult to access the toilet tank for maintenance or troubleshooting because it’s behind the flush button panel and in the wall. Over time, you’ll spend more on maintenance because you’ll need a plumber to work on hidden plumbing.

Yes, frozen pipes can prevent a toilet from working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which means your toilet tank won't be able to refill after a flush. This will prevent the toilet from flushing again. Depending on which lines are frozen, the ice can also block the drain pipe, preventing water from flushing away.

As a temporary workaround, you can manually add water to the tank for each flush. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try filling the toilet bowl or tank with warm water and flushing to help thaw the ice. However, the best long-term solution is to unfreeze the pipes to get your toilet back in working order.

The biggest sign that your flange leaks is if you notice water at the base of the toilet. The cause is likely due to a poor flange installation, so you might have issues with loose bolts, an uneven flange, or a cracked plastic flange. Add a deteriorating wax seal to this, and you have a recipe for disaster. The best solution is to shut off the water valve, replace the toilet flange, and seal it with a new wax ring.

You can tell if your toilet fill valve is full by removing the lid and taking a look. When you flush the toilet, the float is at the bottom of the tank, the water empties, and the fill valve opens. The float rises to the top as the tank fills again with water. When the float rises to the right level, the fill valve closes; if the valve is too high, your toilet may only partially flush, requiring you to adjust the float.
