"I received another quote from another company (Superior Sep.) that was close to $500 vs. $390 and the other company would ALSO add an extra charge to find/dig up the clean out access cover. No hidden fees or surprises with Austin Rooter! Have already recommended their septic pumping service to my daughter who recently bought a house with a septic system. Highly recommend for both the outstanding service and VALUE which I would give 6 Stars (A+) if they had it!"

"My husband and I were so overwhelmed due to finding sitting water behind our home by our septic field on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. We called C and R Services on that same Sunday around 5pm and Gerald answered and was very informative. He had us check a few things around our home before he made an appointment to drive out to us. We checked everything he mentioned and sure enough it was exactly what he had us check on. We turned the water off to our running toilet and called him back. He saved us so much time and money and we are so thankful for C and R Services. Now we can enjoy our Thanksgiving and family without stressing about how we are going to fix our septic and how much is it going to be. Any other company would have charged us to come out and not have tried to help us figure out what was going on over the phone. C and R Services is Awesome! I am definitely going to recommend them to everyone I know."

"The All-In-O Septic team is outstanding. I called for help on Angi, and within the hour, they had called and come out to do the work. Was a little late in the day so their coming out tomorrow morning to complete the drain field jetting and filter instalation in the septic tank. "I contacted Legend Plumbing based on their high rating from Angie's List Subscribers. I called them on Wednesday to schedule service and they were able to schedule my appointment for the next day. Bruce showed up on time and pumped the septic tank as requested. I thought the price was a little high compared to my last pump out, but that was 5-6 years ago. Perhaps the increase was appropriate given the price of diesel to run the truck and general inflation. I would definitely recommend Legend Plumbing and Will definitely use them again."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Yes, septic tank companies must be licensed in most states and municipalities to perform services like installation, alteration, repair, and pumping. Since laws vary by location, it's crucial to check local requirements.

Hiring an unlicensed professional can lead to poor work, code violations, and significant fines. Always verify that your chosen company is properly licensed and fully insured to avoid liability. You can use tools like Angi’s contractor licensing search to check a pro's credentials.

It's also helpful to understand the difference between licensing and certification. A license is a legal requirement to operate, while certifications are voluntary. Credentials like the “Angi Approved” badge indicate that a business meets extra standards, such as passing a background check and maintaining a high rating.

A well does not run out of water because the groundwater continues to refill with rainwater that seeps through the ground. If the well is too shallow or there is a drought, a well can run dry or be short in supply. It’s important to have a well deep enough to source enough water for your home’s use. Deeper wells tap into more groundwater reserves. If your well is not producing enough water, you may need to redig your well.

Most homeowners know there’s a septic system problem when they can smell one. However, this isn’t exactly a scientific deduction method. Consider some of the other signs: standing water or constantly damp earth in the drainage area, toilets and sinks that won’t drain or frequently back up, and loud plumbing. You really need to be on top of routine maintenance with septic systems in order to avoid such unpleasant symptoms of a septic issue.

Deciding between an engineered septic system and a conventional one depends on property size, soil quality, local regulations, and environmental factors. If your property has limited space, poor soil, or is close to sensitive environmental features, an engineered system may be required. Professional site evaluations, considering water usage, long-term plans, and budget constraints, can help determine the appropriate choice. Consulting with a septic system professional is crucial for ensuring compliance with regulations and selecting the best system for your property's unique needs.

Common signs that your well pump is failing include fluctuating or consistently poor water pressure, sputtering water from faucets, or a complete loss of water. Other indicators are unusual noises coming from the pump, the pump running continuously, dirty or cloudy water, or a sudden, unexplained spike in your utility bills. While some issues, especially after a power outage, might be resolved by simply restarting the power or priming the pump, persistent problems suggest a more serious issue. If you notice any of these red flags, it is recommended to call a professional well pump service to inspect the system and determine whether it needs to be repaired or replaced.
