"Gayla was very flexible in having the installers come since it was brand new house and we had to wait on the closing dates.  The technicians were very nice, professional, and kept everything clean and organized.  They went above and beyond and helped to move the carpet to the patio and garage.  The floors look really nice and I have recommended them already.  The last day of installation, a Sunday, they rushed and didn't remove the carpet completely."

"Let’s start off by saying I don’t brag about too many companies that I use but. Travis was incredible. It was less than a week before the forth of July and I had a big pretty planned I wanted new floors throughout my house. Everyone I called said they couldn’t get it done in time. But when I called BCI Travis was more than willing to help me out. With in a day the flooring arrived and a few days later the installers showed up and did a amazing job. They were very clean and professional. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I highly recommend this company."

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can mop hardwood floors with a damp flat or string mop as long as it is not soaking wet. Always avoid leaving standing water or fully soaking your hardwood floors, even if they are properly finished. A slightly wet mop, with or without cleaning solutions, will not damage the wood.

If you’re cleaning or repairing laminate floors, avoid anything abrasive like heavy-grit sandpaper or steel wool. Because the image layer is protected by a topcoat, the image layer is more vulnerable to scratches and damage if the topcoat is damaged. And if the image layer is scratched, it can reveal the wood fiber core.

Professionals use various tools and cleaning solutions based on the type of floor they’re cleaning. They often use industrial steam cleaners to pull debris out of the carpet. For localized stains, they may use a commercial cleaner or a mixture of water, vinegar, and dish soap. For tile, they’ll typically use dish soap and hot water, plus a mixture of baking soda and hot water for the grout. For cleaning wood floors, they might use a low-heat steamer, a mop with an oil wood floor cleaner, or a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and lemon juice.

You can buff out small scratches or indentations from your hardwood floor, but refinishing is your best bet if you have larger areas that need work. Floors in relatively good shape but have lost their luster can be restored with thorough buffing. If your finish has worn off in areas or if you have sun or water damage, you should go with refinishing instead.

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.
